CHAT Watched a Karen lose her mind

Just got back from the grocery store and the place was very busy. When we got there, a guy came out and walked to his car and was putting his groceries in his car and he was parked close to the entrance of the store. A woman wanted his spot and was waiting blocking other cars and was wailing on her horn for him to move. He just looked at her and said I will be finished in a minute. She screamed back (and I mean screamed) to move his damn car and load the groceries later.

Then she laid on her horn again and people she was blocking was also getting upset at her. I told my wife that I wasn't going into the store as I was laughing at the Karen and wanted to watch how this was going to play out. After the guy got his groceries in the car, he just smiled at the Karen and locked his car and walked back towards the store entrance and told the Karen he forgot something and was going back in. Then she loses her mind and started screaming/cussing the guy and hit the gas and I thought she was going to run the guy over, but he moved and she hit another car parked in the lot.

She was going to leave but a woman who was behind her waiting blocked her in with her car. She jumped out ranting and raving and told the woman to move that she was leaving. The woman in the car and the man she was yelling at to begin with didn't move and the guy got on his phone and called the police. When we came out later the police had the woman in the back of the squad car and the guy was giving a statement to the police. We left after that.

That’s funny as it gets. Karma. Loved the guy locking his car again. But ... some of these morons will take it to the next level. Probably good she didn’t have a gun. Been hearing lately of drivers getting shot in their cars from road rage morons.

Similar thing happened to me at the local mega-mart.

Went to park at it's gas station to get something inside.

Of course, the single designated handicapped spot was occupied by somebody without a handicapped placard.

So I park near but not blocking the front door and hang my handicapped placard on the rear view mirror.

As I get out of the car, a Cloefeeshu, not a Karen, pulls up behind me and is literally screaming at me. "You can't park there! I gotta park there to get my water bottles!" I just totally ignored her.

It is amazing how self centered and totally rude some people are.

Parking-lot stalkers drive me berserk. The spot is mine until it isn't. If you stalk me, I will get in my car, lock the door, floss my teeth, trim my toenails, balance my checkbook and do whatever else needs doing until you go away.

That said, a lot of cheese is slipping off a lot of crackers lately. Be careful out there.

No one ever said I couldn't park in a handicapped spot and get on the stores wi fi so I can watch a youtube. But it's dark then and most the parking is available. I'll even hang my placard.

This is nothing new. Idiots in parking lots have been epidemic forever. Really really stupid idiots endangering themselves and others over a parking spot. Now I admit I will drive around trying to find a closer spot when its -10 with 30 mph winds or 100 with humidity to match, but I'm capable of walking so I walk.

When my dh was alive we had handicapped plates but I never used a handicapped spot when I was alone. One time with dh just out of the hospital I stopped at Walmart to run in and get something and parked at the end of the row since dh was staying in the car. Well he had to go to the restroom and walked into the store. I got back to the car and he was gone and I about panicked because I knew he couldn't walk that far safely. After that I parked in handicapped even if he was staying in the car just in case he needed to go to the restroom

One time I was taking my 92 year old mother to the hospital to visit someone and parked in the handicapped spot even tho at the time she didn't have a handicapped sticker. I figured anyone watching her making her way slowly along the walk would not question why I parked there!

Experienced something similar about eight years ago at Northern Tool of all places, and it was a male Karen not a female. He was pissed because he wanted our parking space, OC was inside shopping and I was nursing a head cold out in the truck sitting in the passenger seat. He started with honking and screaming at me and then came over and started beating on my window, that's when he found out I was packing. He went and parked in another spot an aisle over. Wondered if needed to wipe his ass after that encounter?

Reminds me of that guy that tried stealing the Trump sign...and smashed his Prius into the light pole. Gotta love Karma.

I know some of you find these antics entertaining, but when I see the beginnings of a fight in the parking lot or the store, I leave the area. People are on short fuses, and some are carrying. I don't need any stray bullets hitting my body or car.

Better yet, I do my best to avoid stores on days like today, but I acknowledge some people work and this is the only time they have to shop.

One of my favorite YouTube channels is "Karens in the Wild". It's funny to watch as long as you're not the target of their insanity.
OK, I have to be honest . . . based solely upon your post (LOL) I went to YT and searched for "Karens in the Wild". O.M.G. - LOL. People are CRAZY! I haven't chuckled and shook my head like that for a while.

The other thing I'm sure everyone else has noticed is how these crazy people instantly whip out their cell phones and start recording like it's some sort of safety shield. LOL.

Thanks for the laugh @IceWave :)

I don’t understand some people’s logic (or lack thereof). If you’re sitting in the passenger seat, you’re obviously waiting for someone inside. Do they honestly expect you to leave the person inside? You probably didn’t have the keys anyway.

Yeah, I wondered the same thing, I did have my set of keys to the truck but my head that day was throbbing finding another parking spot where OC could have found me was outside of my wheelhouse. He's lucky I was at the end of my monthly cycle, had it been a few days earlier I would have planted his ass, being menopausal and all that jazz. I stayed in the truck one because I had a cold but also during that time of my life the need to beat someone to death with a shopping cart was strong with me, lol. Of course, I'd give them cookies after an ass whooping...

Some people have no clue that when they go off on other people just how close some other people are to the edge, even if they appear to be calm. Thank God that part of my life is now behind me!

And thank God for meeting up with Meemur who recognized exactly what was going on and told me to hold on just a little longer that one day it'll be like a switch just flipped and life would be normal again... and it did happen and not too long after we met up. SO glad to be on the otherside of menopause now... and the woman in the OP may well have been menopausal.

The guy in the OP handled it well... glad the cops were called.

Really, WTH is wrong with people?

Was just out doing the pre-T-Day shopping and have to say most everyone I encountered was calm and composed. Of course as the day goes on, that will probably change for the worse.

The closest I think I’ve seen to a fade off was when an SUV was waiting in a Costco parking lot for another car to finish loading and leave. Signal on, calm and cool. The loading car backs out a zips off... a small car shoots in from right at the end and parks there. The SUV had pull up behind the other car as I was walking away. I was thinking that, dang, if that was me, I’d be pissed!

Crap like this is why I carry.
As do I.

We went to lunch the other day to celebrate the new office and we (the entire family all 5 of us lol) watched a guy who couldn't wait literally drive over the hood of another car to get out of the parking lot. Then they were off to the races with the guy who couldn't wait being chased by the guy run over.

No one appeared hurt, but it really put a big dent in the smaller car. The bad guy was driving a large expedition like vehicle that was lifted......

For those who ask it really did seem intentional and not an accident.

Granted I am capable of walking and am not afraid of rain or cold but I usually park far out in the parking lots where I can have a space w/o fear of getting dings and such from people who aren't careful opening their doors or handling their carts. Also, my F150 absorbs the entirety of most parking spaces and not having anyone next to me allows me to open my doors without risk to them or me.
