A man who won a guitar signed by Taylor Swift at a Texas charity event smashed the instrument to pieces right on stage after winning the item and the video of his gleeful act has gone viral.

A man who won a guitar signed by Taylor Swift at a Texas charity event smashed the instrument to pieces right on stage after winning the item and the video of his gleeful act has gone viral.

The video appears to have been recorded at the Ellis County Wild Game Dinner held near Dallas, Texas, over the weekend and the guitar was certified as having being signed by the pop mega star, TMZ reported.

The video starts with the emcee holding a hammer in one hand and the guitar on another as the man assumed to be the winner of the auction comes to collect his prize.

But as he approaches, he grabs both the hammer and the guitar and instantly starts bashing the guitar to pieces as the crowd laughs and cheers.

Since the emcee already had the hammer ready for action, it is obvious that the whole point of the auction was to destroy the Taylor Swift item.

According to TMZ, the guitar was donated to the charity auction by a third party, not Swift herself.

The Ellis County Wild Game Dinner is a non-profit organization that supports agricultural education for kids.

Swift has been a particular target of criticism from the political right for years, but especially after her endorsement of Kamala Harris for president.

Taylor Swift has the right to endorse whom she will.

And so do WE.

And all of us should have, in turn, the right to RESPOND to an endorsement by anyone who SELLS--(in this case, Taylor Swift sells herself and her singing) by refusing to BUY from those whose opinion / position we do not desire to support.

I'd rather KNOW, than have them keep silent and be deceived by them.

A few years ago a local dairy farm (selling eggs, beef and raw milk) placed a large Hillary political sign out in a pasture facing the main highway through his town. If that was a good guitar instead of a $100 Amazon POS, that's a shame. Taylor Guitars makes (made?) a Baby Taylor in a Taylor Swift model, but they sell for $500-550 and they aren't gaudy looking like that. If that was one of the better Taylors she uses on stage, it sells for a lot more.

Since the whole auction was a setup, I doubt the winner spent any money at all. The smash was the whole point, and so the winner was pre-ordained.
