Thanks, glad to be with you all :hugs:
Clif High pointed out that the rooms Biden is signing EOs in is not the oval office. The wallpaper and windows are different. Perhaps he is in the basement.
Yes, he did say that! I must also share the rather interesting speculation that Biden is deceased as of 6 days ago due to a heart attack! I know, I know.....,just saying. It’s floating out there....anything is possible!

[COMMENT: Interesting also that when the Bidens walked over to the White House, they had to wait outside while the band played as there was no butler to open the door. Supposedly, they had fired him and no replacement had been hired. Perhaps they haven't hired staff yet.

Clif High also stated that Kamala had not yet moved into her house either. ]

The lights on the exterior of the Washington Monument went out on Sunday evening and nobody seems to know why.

The National Park Service has said that they “are investigating and will have them restored as soon as possible” in a tweet, shortly before 9 p.m.
The exterior lights of the Washington Monument are currently out. We are investigating and will have them restored as soon as possible.

The Park Service had announced that the monument will be closing due to the coronavirus, but told CBS that the situation with the lights is not related.

The Park Service had not provided an update as of 3 a.m. local time.
Naturally, Twitter users had some fun with the situation.

Luckily, the apparent power outage did not affect the aviation light at the top of the monument.

Losing webcams from loss of local power. Duh.

Shouldn’t the one on the Washington Monument be out as well since there is no power?

In Helen’s post above, the link she shared from Twitter said “Washington Monument and White House went dark, now the only webcam working in DC is the top one on the Washington Monument.”

I may be blonde, but it still does not make sense that the webcam on top of the WM could be on while the WM is out of power.

The reason is that the safety lights that run at the top of the Washington Monument probably have their own circuit back to the incoming power line (maybe even their own breaker box) as they MUST stay powered on (to warn planes) as much as possible. They may even have a significant battery backup to keep them running in the event ot a power outage.

Whoever put the webcam up there probably just tied in to the first power connection that they could get to (maybe even against the LONG list of FAA rules that usually prevent that kind of thing on "their" circuits). Either the power didn't get cut as it was a totally different circuit, or the power to the building did, and the battery backup kept the lone webcam rolling. If they were trying to knock out all of the DC gov webcams in that area, they missed that one probably because of a electrican's cheat. I'm betting that they don't make that mistake again.
