WASHINGTON, DC - MARCH 13: Walmart CEO Doug McMillon makes brief remarks during a news conference with U.S. President Donald Trump after he declared a national emergency in reaction to the ongoing global coronavirus pandemic in the Rose Garden at the White House March 13, 2020 in Washington, DC. Walmart CEO Doug McMillon on Friday condemned “racial violence” and pledged $100 million to “address systematic racism in society head-on and accelerate change.”

In an email sent to employees, McMillon embraced the worldview of the radical left and pledge to fund its goals.

“The global health crisis has tested all of us in recent months, and the racial violence in the U.S. — in particular, the murder of George Floyd — is tragic, painful and unacceptable,” McMillon wrote in the email.

Like many companies that have recently adopted the view that America is plagued by systemic racism, Walmart is not aiming only to change itself. It has moved on to the second stage of woke corporatism, which involves attempting to reform the world according to the leftwing agenda.

From McMillon’s letter:
To influence and lead change in society more broadly, we are going to invest resources and develop strategies to increase fairness, equity and justice in aspects of everyday life. We will find the natural overlaps between Walmart’s core business and society’s larger needs that perpetuate racism and discrimination. Specifically, we’re going to focus the power of Walmart on our nation’s financial, healthcare, education and criminal justice systems.
In addition to leveraging our business to drive these outcomes, Walmart and the Walmart Foundation are committing $100 million over five years through a new center on racial equity. The goal of the center will be to address systematic racism in society head-on and accelerate change. Through the $100 million commitment, the center will support philanthropic initiatives that align with the four key areas noted above. The center will seek to advance economic opportunity and healthier living, including issues surrounding the social determinants of health, strengthening workforce development and related educational systems, and support criminal justice reform with an emphasis on examining barriers to opportunity faced by those exiting the system.
Employees of Walmart were instructed that they must not only comply with Walmart’s internal and external changes but must believe in them “authentically and more deeply.”

“As an associate at Walmart, you are expected to truly, authentically and more deeply embrace inclusion,” McMillon said. “We must work together to actively shape the culture to be more inclusive and not just accept our differences but celebrate them – all the time – within every team.”

The email made no mention of the violence seen in cities across America or the victims of riots and looting.

So...why do so many of you shop there? Just wondering. People here talk about going to WalMart all the time.

I give up.

We switched to Tarjay, and don't ask me about their bathrooms, I don't use them. If Tarjay starts acting weird, I will finally have to switch to online shopping, although I'd rather not do that. I like shopping, and they're ruining it for me and many other people.

Only because that's the only place you can find some things (like the brand of coffee we like). If there was an alternative I'd be all over it!

And yes, shopping there less and less all the time - tired of the one way aisles, limited selection, you name it.

That's on top of the $100 MILLION over 10 years Michael Jordan and his brand pledged today.

They gonna be rollin' in the dough, and just how much do you think will actually reach the people in the street?

You got that right.

Everything after funding the revolution, I suppose.

Do most of my shopping online, not much choice within a 200 mile radius here. Unless I go to Mexico to shop. But a large amount of my brick and mortar shopping is a small store that caters mainly to Hispanics, pretty good place to shop if you need basics.

Walmart is just paying a bribe to keep stores from being looted. :shr:

I'm slowly arriving at the point Mountain has in the other thread here . . ya know what EFF IT . . . the BULLSHIT has become so incredibly outrageous, as to be unbelievable . . . the struggle to see who can out-cuc who is pathetic.

are we REALLY this weak minded? that no one can can stop this nonsense and every one of our institutions feels the need to jump on the band wagon? its like a gee shall I really continue with eyes wide open down the road to becoming a CRACK WHORE - or stop before I pick up that pipe for the first time level of STUPIDITY

if we don't get this situation under control - if no ADULTS join the party before the election season begins in earnest IMHO we can kiss this country BYE BYE.

So major US corporations will fund many of the very organizations that helped organize, control and direct the recent violence.

And this should stop the violence.

The corporate CEO’s Chamberlains are flying back from Munich waving the peace accord.

Cause violent thugs always become satisfied when the pliant leaders cave to their demands.

Soro’s have created a self funding democrat extortion operation. They blew up almost 100 ATM’s to help finance the riots or future riots and now corporate America is adding to the future violence slush fund.

I guarantee some woke corporate executive in their marketing and diversity programs talked them into this to ‘buy’ goodwill, after coming back from their stint on the riot lines.

It won’t work and they never go back and look at where these community outreach funds go. They will be graded by the fascist radical organizations that support the violence so they only get the woke points and participation t-shirt if they fund the most radical anti US organizations.

But at least the next time they can watch the next store get looted and torched they can say, at least their using our money.

Any suggestions on where to shop instead of Walmart? I can change my grocery shopping to Kroger, but their prices are twice what Walmart's are. Aldi's here is too trashy. That doesn't leave me with much of a choice.

Throwing money at people you feel sorry for never solves their problems they only spend it and ask for me....... or somebody in the food chain of that embezzles is................they you become an unintended enabler of those problems.

On top of that we've been throwing money and programs for 60 years at these people with no improvement in their behavior.

Me thinks its all marketing window dressing.......one company does it and then everyone else has to or else you are guilty by non participation.

If a business doesn't cough up the bucks these days they might as well change the sign out from to "Nazimart" as far as the media is concerned.....

This is NOT going to work. If they can't eat it or eff it, they destroy it. I don't go to WalterWorld and never really have after seeing the destruction of a small town in Illannoy lose their whole downtown square shopping district to the local Walter that opened in that small town 3 decades plus ago. They came in and cut prices to the bone driving all locals out of the marketplace. Then the prices went back to normal Walter World prices. Cheap money for really cheap junk made in Jyna. I did get more than my fair share of plastic dinosaurs though!

Yep, their payoff is money thrown away, it will all go to the charlatans at the top. The walmart closet to us is fairly new, not much else in that town. But the bodega I shop at has been there for probably 50 years, good people.

Walmart fills a hole in some locations but if you have other options their is no crime is shopping alternate locations. I shop several international stores as well as Dollar General. Winn Dixie is another I shop at. My kids like Publix, me not so much but if they are buying it is up to them.

Keep an eye out for sales and stock up on stuff as you can, it keeps from burning $$$ at wallyworld because you got tempted. Go in with a list and come out with only what is on your list. Keep an eye on yard sales and thrift stores and estate sales. Check craigslist and your local by-owner flyers. And if you need something in particular learn to barter for it.

All caps appropriate up there.

This is a drop in the bucket for them, with all that they amassed. The masses are like, "yay!" with the tone this sets, and they will continue to see $ signs. The Waltons are NWO and are making a statement here.

Systemic racism my ass! Here it comes and don't think the government is not going to get in on the act. If we don't literally stand up now they will grind us into the ground...Trump or not. You think affirmative action and all the other race laws are bad? You have seen anything yet.

Stand Up White Man! It's now or never.

I don't have a lot of choice about shopping at WM. But I just remind myself that all those nice youngsters (and others, of course) working there, who are so cheerful and helpful, need their paychecks badly and I'm helping see to it that they can keep getting them.

This part really creeps me out. Very George Orwell.
