W.H.O. Rejects Vaccine Passports: Cites Lack of Fairness, Medical Doubts

The World Health Organization (W.H.O.) on Tuesday said it rejects coronavirus vaccine passports for travel “at this stage” because of doubts over the efficacy of the injections as well as equity concerns.

“We as W.H.O. are saying at this stage we would not like to see the vaccination passport as a requirement for entry or exit because we are not certain at this stage that the vaccine prevents transmission,” W.H.O. spokeswoman Margaret Harris told a news conference in Geneva, Reuters reports.

“There are all those other questions, apart from the question of discrimination against the people who are not able to have the vaccine for one reason or another,” Harris added, echoing an argument already gaining momentum in the U.S. and beyond.

The W.H.O. previously rejected coronavirus passports as recently as last month, with Breitbart News reporting then it would be unfair to nations with limited vaccination capabilities.

“Vaccination is just not available enough around the world and is not available certainly on an equitable basis,” Dr. Michael Ryan, director of the W.H.O. Health Emergencies Program, said at a press briefing on March 8.

Ryan said the W.H.O., the United Nations’ (U.N.) official health body, advises against the use of coronavirus vaccine passports while there are still “real practical and ethical considerations” surrounding their implementation.

The issue of coronavirus passports has sparked heated globally but especially in the UK where Prime Minister Boris Johnson has hinted at their introduction over the past few weeks.

The British government is understood to want Britons to have the option of displaying either their vaccination status or test results, ensuring those who cannot be vaccinated for health reasons are not penalised.

Johnson addressed the subject directly last month, saying: “There are deep and complex issues that we need to explore, and ethical issues about what the role is for government in mandating or for people to have such a thing or indeed in banning people doing such a thing.

“We can’t be discriminatory against people who can’t have the vaccine.”

The NHS app is being considered as an easy way to show proof of vaccination or a negative coronavirus test result, although as Breitbart London reported, Johnson is also keen to trial “immunity certificates.”

Currently in the UK, those who’ve received the coronavirus jab are given a vaccination card and the details are added to their medical records.

I think it will be just like the mask situation. Private ownership, mostly in large cities, will demand vaccine ID to get into a store, just like mask mandate. If you live in a rural area like I do, where life really hasn’t changed during covid, no ID will be required.

In a rural area corporate policy will dictate if you need a vaccine ID. We see that here all the time with stores like Costco, Best Buy, etc. In most cases it won't matter where you live.

IMO this is a response by the WHO to the global blowback of simply even floating any kind of vaccine passport.

Even as media has worked overtime with loaded polls claiming the majority of the population want them, "experts" threatening the mega-doom super-corona apocalypse without them, threats of second class citizenship if you refuse, and even the FBI press release on forgeries...

With the creation of the "Well Health-Safety Seal" that is being pushed I think vaccine passport use will all boil down to a handful of states that have hostile state governments (NY, CA, WA, NJ, ect...), as well as the counties in which sizeable urban centers are located, and then hostile smaller municipalities/townships where Karen's are in majority control, but as marymonde and Panner have suggested, it'll mostly be corporate...where they can get away with it;

Here, the mask mandate was only enforceable via threats to businesses in the loss of their operating licenses if they didn't post public notices stating they require a mask to enter, however it's uniformly impossible to enforce because of ADA and HIPPA, which was made very clear in an employee meeting I attended back around Black Friday last year, as well as refusal or simple non-enforcement of the public notice (I visit a gas station that has a notice on the door, but 50% of the patrons aren't wearing masks, the employees don't wear them, and they've never refused to serve those not wearing a mask...and we do the same where I work.)

Additionally our state AG shot down or heavily nurtured a number the governor's COVID mandates in a slew of lawsuits and the legislature has been hot on his tail generating legislation to curtail his ill gained power, to include passing Senate Bill 8 which prevents forced vaccinations or a vaccine mandate.

Exactly how it will be done

Where they still exist. Sadly, Bob's Hardware will be lacking lots of useful stuff Home Depot carries.
Well then Bob can order it for you!! It’s supply and demand, if people start shopping locally, Bob will start carrying most requested items. I’m hoping for a silver lining in this mess.

If I'm going to order something, I'll just go to the Internet for it. No point in paying Bob to delay my item and get a markup for it.
