INTL Vladimir Putin: "Long live the King!"

I don't know if anyone caught Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on Larry King last night, but he ended his interview in a rather strange way. In a seeming attempt to pump up Larry, whose program is about to come off the air, Putin commented, "when shall we have a right to cry out, 'Long live the King!'".

What I'm sure almost every viewer accept maybe myself failed to recognize is that Putin was actually referring to himself, not Larry.

Recently a new book was published entitled, The New Nobility: The Restoration of Russia's Security State and the Enduring Legacy of the KGB, authored by Russian journalists Andrei Soldatov and Irina Borogan.

Thenewnobilitycover.jpg

An essay appeared in Foreign Affairs magazine adopted from the book in September that opened as follows:

In December 2000, Nikolai Patrushev, who had succeeded Vladimir Putin as director of Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB), gave an interview to mark the anniversary of the founding of the Cheka, the Bolshevik secret police. He described the FSB's personnel: "Our best colleagues, the honor and pride of the FSB, don't do their work for the money," he said. "They all look different, but there is one very special characteristic that unites all these people, and it is a very important quality: It is their sense of service. They are, if you like, our new 'nobility.'"

Over the last decade in Russia, the FSB, the modern successor to the Soviet secret police, the KGB, has been granted the role of the new elite, enjoying expanded responsibilities and immunity from public oversight or parliamentary control. The FSB's budget is not published; the total number of officers is undisclosed. But even cautious estimates suggest that the FSB employs more than 200,000 people. For ten years, Putin, a KGB and FSB veteran himself, has held power in the Kremlin as president and now prime minister. He has made the FSB the main security service in Russia, permitting it to absorb much of the former KGB and granting it the right to operate abroad, collect information, and carry out special operations.

Thus, The New Nobility explains that Russia has transformed into an autocracy controlled by Russia's secret services since the collapse of communism and breakup of the Soviet Union. An intriguing feature of this new autocracy is the special relationship the new government has with the Russian Orthodox Church.

From a 2007 RFERL article, "The Soft-Power Foundations Of Putin's Russia":

KGB, Church Find Common Ground

One of the siloviki's most effective allies in this cultural counterrevolution has been the Russian Orthodox Church. During the Soviet period, the Orthodox Church and other religious groups were under the KGB's direct control. As Feliks Dzerzhinsky, founder of the original Soviet secret police wrote: "Leave the church to the chekisty. Only they, with their specific chekist methods, can control the clerics and undermine the church from within." That decision began the strange cohabitation of the church and the KGB, with the security agency using the church's authority to influence believers at home and abroad and the KGB using church foreign dioceses as fronts for operations abroad.

After Boris Yeltsin came to power, there was some discussion of exposing the clergymen who cooperated with the KGB, but that effort never got off the ground and was quickly shelved.

In Putin's Russia, the church plays a major ideological role. Metropolitan Kirill of Smolensk and Kaliningrad, who is the head of external relations for the Moscow Patriarchate, is a close Putin loyalist (and 'former' KGB agent). In a nationally televised sermon in 2005, Kirill said the reformers of the 1990s did not understand "that reform does not mean Westernization." A year later, the 10th World Congress of Russian People, an event organized by the Moscow Patriarchate, adopted a conception of a uniquely Russian vision of democracy and human rights, an idea that became a central tenet of the Kremlin's ideology of sovereign democracy. Speaking at the congress, Kirill said there are higher values than liberty and democracy and that the church rejects the idea that "human rights prevail over the interests of society." Patriarch Aleksy II repeated these ideas in October when he spoke from the pulpit of Notre Dame in Paris during his first-ever visit to a Catholic country.

Thus, the once atheistic Kremlin is now fashioning itself as the Orthodox Christian capital of Russian autocracy. Well, another form of autocracy is a monarchy, i.e., a KINGDOM, and this, my friends, is where my central thesis regarding the rise of the Antichrist and a false kingdom of god in world history should be clear.

A book published in 1987 written by Alexander Yanov entitled, The Russian Challenge and The Year 2000, predicted what we are new seeing in Russia. Here's a passage from page 236 that quotes Russian nationalist G.M. Shimanov and reveals the thinking of Moscow's intelligencia leading up to the collapse of Soviet Communism:

"Today the Soviet system can no longer seriously strive toward the spectre of Communism - but at the same time it cannot yet abandon the grandeur of its tasks, for otherwise it would have to answer for fruitless sacrifices which are truly innumerable. But in what then can the Soviet system find its justification? Only in the consciousness that it was unconsciously in the past, as it is now quite consciously, God's instrument for constructing a new Christian world. It has no other justification, and this is . . . a genuine and great justification. By adopting it, our state will discover in itself a truly inexhaustable source of Truth, spiritual energy and strength, which has never before existed in history . . . The old pagan world has now finally outlived its era . . . In order not to perish with it we must build a new civilization - but is Western society, whose foundations have been destroyed, really capable of this? Only the Soviet sytem, having adopted Russian Orthodoxy . . . is capable of beginning THE GREAT TRANSFORMATION OF THE WORLD." (emphasis in the original)

What's nightmarish about the 'great transformation of the world' that Yanov revealed Russia was planning in the late-1980s is how it meshes with Moscow's planned large-scale strategic deception of the West as forewarned about by key top-level defectors. Anatoliy Golitsyn, in his books New Lies For Old (1984) and The Perestroika Deception (1995) forecast with startling detail and accuracy the breakup of the Soviet Union and reorganization of Russia's relations with the West that has occurred over the last couple of decades. The problem is the Golitsyn was able to make his projections based upon his insight that it would all be a inherently misleading, a bald-faced Russian lie.

Regarding the KGB, in 1989 Golitsyn forecast:

An Improved, Reorganized KGB

One can expect tha the KGB will be converted into a new organization with a Western-style name The reorganization will be presented as a reduction of therole of the service in Soviet society. But, because of the KGB's crucial role in promoting 'perestroika' internally and abroad, the reorganization hould not be seen as a downgrading. Just as Dzerzhinskiy's hated Cheka was converted into the more powerful GPU, so will the successor organization to the KGB be more powerful than its predecessor.

Guess what?!

RUSSIAN GRAND STRATEGY

Anatoliy Golitsyn, "Memorandum to the CIA: 4 January 1988", The Perestroika Deception, p.51:

The Soviets regard strategy as a grand overall design, often referred to as 'the general line', which guides the course of the Party's actions over a period of twenty to thirty years in the pursuit of its unchanging Communist objectives.

As in military strategy, Soviet political strategy is flexible, elastic as to timing, contains a variety of options and takes full account of risks and possible losses. The feature of strategy which distinguishes it from policy is that it contains within itself a secret, concealed or deceptive maneuver designed to take the adversary by surprise and thus secure victory for the strategy.

Since the turn of the century, the Russian communists have developed three grand strategies. The common essence of these strategies has been the messianic obsession with seizing power in Russia, achieving worldwide victory of Communism and building a totalitarian, egalitarian society.

From the chapter, "The Soviet View of Nuclear War: Nuclear Warfighting", in Joseph D. Douglass, Jr.'s Soviet Strategy For Nuclear War (sub-quotes are taken from translations of Soviet military writings NOT meant for Western eyes):

Global nuclear war is defined by the Soviets much more broadly than the strategic nuclear exchange envisioned by the United States. It is seen as an all-encompassing conflict between communism and capitalism that would involve all areas of the world and most major countries:

Nuclear war....should not be thought of as a gigantic technical enterprise alone - as a launching of an enormous amount of missiles with nuclear warheads to destroy vital objectives and manpower of the enemy, or as operations by the armed forces alone. Nuclear war is a complex and many-sided process, which in addition to the operation of the armed forces will involve economic, diplomatic and ideological forms of struggle. They will all serve the political aims of the war and be guided by them.

....

Today's weapons make it possible to achieve strategic objectives very quickly. The very first nuclear attack on the enemy may inflict such immense casualties and produce such vast destruction that his economic, moral-political and military capabilities will collapse, making it impossible for him to continue to struggle, and presenting him with the fact of defeat.

.....

Surprise....is regarded in the Soviet literature as a vital if not the single most important condition for success in war:

A more important condition for achieving victory than overall superiority in weapons and manpower is the ability to use concealment in preparing one's main forces for a major strike and the element of surprise in launching an attack...

Now listen to what top GRU defector Colonel Stanislav Lunev revealed regarding Russia's secret plans for nuclear war against America:

http://www.spiritoftruth.org/lunev.mp3

In light of this information, consider the following drawn from Alexander Yanov's, The Russian Challenge and the Year 2000, p.95:

The Russian Path

....the 'new Russian revolutionaries' feel that their vocation is to lead humankind on to a fundamentally different, Russia, path. The Russian essence of this path derives from the belief that, contrary to the assertions of Western theoreticians, th center of gravity for all conflicting forces in the world lie not in the realm of the struggle of democracy against authoritarianism, but in that of the struggle between metaphysical forces: God vs. Satan.

This cause....of the dangerous tension in the world lies much deeper than the economic and political spheres....a spiritual battle for the individual is going on. Two paths are before mankind: free communion with God....or the denial of God, and then Satanocracy.

From page 159 of Yanov's book:

....'Russian patriots' are far from being atheist or pagans. They are believers in the Russian Orthodox church. Moreover, Orthodoxy is, for them, not just the highly esteemed Russian Religion (with a capital R), but the only branch of Christianity capable of saving the world. Christianity's other branches have betrayed the racial principle and are in essence aiding 'worldwide disintegration':

Today the spirit of evil, having disguised its horns under a Beatles haircut, is trying to conduct its demoralizing and disintegrative activity within individual branches of the Christian Church by other means, preaching the ideology of the Jewish diaspora, egalitarianism, and cosmopolitanism, thus aggravating the process of worldwide miscegenation and degradation. [Veche, 1981]

Thus, in the eyes of Russian nationalists, democracy is equivalent to Satanocracy and authoritarianism is godly. Their version of the Kingdom of God is a totalitarian dictatorship and this is what the Kremlin is fashioning in Moscow ultimately for the purpose of global domination.

Some more quotes:

"Gentlemen, comrades, do not be concerned about all you hear about Glasnost and Perestroika and democracy in the coming years. They are primarily for outward consumption. There will be no significant internal changes in the Soviet Union, other than for cosmetic purposes. Our purpose is to disarm the Americans and let them fall asleep." - Mikhail Gorbachev, November 1987

"Communist ideology in its pure form is akin to Christianity. Its main ideas are the brotherhood of all peoples irrespective of their nationality, justice and equality, peace, and an end to all hostility between peoples." - Mikhail Gorbachev's 'Memoirs', 1996

"The socialist tradition....goes back to Jesus Christ, not (Karl) Marx." - Mikhail Gorbachev, USA Today, October 28th, 1996

"Jesus was the first socialist, the first to seek a better life for mankind." - Mikhail Gorbachev

"If we presume the coming transformation of the Communist Party into the Russian Orthodox Party of the Soviet Union, we would obtain truly the ideal state, one which would fulfill the historical destiny of the Russian people. It is a question of the Orthodoxization of the entire world." - Gennadii Shimanov (quoted in Alexander Yanov's The Russian Challenge)

"My feelings tell me that someday a Slavic Orthodox tsar shall take the socialist movement in hand and, with the blessing of the Church, set up a socialist form of life in place of the bourgeois one. And this Socialism will be a new and severe....form of slavery..." - Konstantin Leont'ev

"An empire of the Orthodox Balkan peoples together with the empire of Holy Russia - not the present marxist, un-Russian Russia, but Holy Orthodox Russia - can bring happiness to all mankind and realize that mystical millennial kingdom of peace on earth, which appeared in a vision on the island of Patmos to that glorious apostle and visionary, St. John the Evangelist. For that Millennium has never yet been made a reality in the history of the world, and what has been destined by God, must become a reality. Who will make it a reality if not those who up to the present day have been the most martyred and reviled, carved up and downtrodden, i.e., the Slavs and the other Orthodox Peoples?" - quote taken from "A Treasury of Serbian Orthodox Spirituality" written by Serbian Bishop Nikolai Velimirovich (1880-1956)

Starting to get the "Russian Idea"?

Is there no hope at all?

Amazing....this thread spells out some of the most important truths relative to the lies of the Antichrist that one can reveal. It's a matter of bringing to the attention of God's people the global deception underway by the forces of Satan intent upon our destruction and subjugation. Yet, no one is interested! I dare say this either reflects that God's people have gone astray or that God's people simply do not exist in this world. If the former, there is still some hope for humanity. If the latter, inhumanity is all there is and there's no hope at all.

JMHO.

The Man of Lawlessness

Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by some prophecy, report or letter supposed to have come from us, saying that the day of the Lord has already come. Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for [that day will not come] until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.

Don’t you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things? And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. 8And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. 9The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness. [2 Thessalonians 2]

Disaster Cat
My husband and I have a running conversation along the lines of "so, has Putin declared himself Czar yet?" We both feel he pretty much already is, Dh thought he had not done it formally yet because as Czar for real, Putin would have to put up with a lot of ceramonial stuff and historical baggage he might not want to suffer at the moment. But we both suspect that at some point, he will decide that it is worth doing so and then re-form the royal family with himself as Czar.

Less likely, would be for him to find some distant relative of the old royal family he could con into taking the job, while he controled the real reigns of power. But since, in Russia, Kings continued to hold great powers in terms of decision making until the bitter end, it is more likely he will take matters into his own hands.

He'll still have to deal with a puppet Duma and a council of "advisors" (kings always do) but he's already set the stage for some of the religious ceramony by wearing a cross and attending Eastern Othadox services when it pleases him. So wearing long robes on formal occasions or even growing a flowing beard, might not bother him. Or like Peter the Great, he could just say he is setting a new fasion in Kings and set new precedents of his own.

I suspect his coronation ceremony will come after the dust settles from America's nuclear destruction and once the military forces of Russia and its allies have sufficiently dominated global society. Of course, my point is that Putin will not just be made tsar, we will be made "tsar of tsars" (READ: "King of Kings", i.e., Christ), and will "set himself up in God's temple", i.e., the Christian Church (via Russian "Orthodoxy"), accordingly.

Birthday gift for Putin casts autocratic shadow

http://www.buzzle.com/editorials/10-5-2002-27633.asp

He models his rule on the powerful Russian tsar of the 17th century, Peter the Great. His doting subjects have already lavished him with a regal palace in St Petersburg, and a billion-dollar ski-slope in Sochi. And they have cited him as the inspiration behind a spy thriller, an opera featuring Monica Lewinsky, a raunchy pop song, a kebab house - and a tomato.

But now Vladimir Putin's tsarist tendencies have been taken to a grotesque extreme. To celebrate his 50th birthday tomorrow, the Russian President has been given an exact replica of the Cap of Monomakh, an ancient ceremonial crown used at the coronation of many of Russia's tsars.

A group of 60 jewellers in the Ural mountains, east of Moscow, have spent six months preparing the gift, insured for a staggering $10 million. The Cap is a golden crown encrusted with jewels and lined with the traditional sable, and named after the revered Prince of Kiev, Vladimir Monomakh, whose son founded Moscow.

Few doubt that the gift's historical associations are meant - perhaps misguidedly - to flatter the Russian leader, whose administration is keen to remind the people of their nation's imperial grandeur. The Cap of Monomakh is one of the most potent symbols of Russian autocracy.

The original weighed 2lb. Made by Oriental craftsmen in the 13th or 14th century, it symbolises the succession of power from the Byzantine emperors to the Russian monarchs, and was used to crown Peter the Great.

But the Kremlin may yet be embarrassed by the gift; Putin's administration is being increasingly criticised for its authoritarian approach and the centralisation of power in Russia around the Kremlin.

Putin's aides feel uncomfortable about the cult of personality that has sprung up around the President. They see such gifts and adulation as reminiscent of his Soviet predecessors, and not the young, sporty, Westernised reformer they wish to portray him as being. This year has already seen a variety of 'tributes' to Putin, ranging from a spy thriller, in which he is the hero, to a brand of tomato named after him.

The gift also carries uncomfortable associations with his predecessor, Boris Yeltsin. When Yeltsin - who raised Putin from obscurity as head of the Russian security service, the FSB, to become his successor - was dubbed 'Tsar Boris' for his personal excesses, he was caricatured in Russian newspapers wearing the Cap of Monomakh. However, Putin is keen to distance himself from the misrule and economic turbulence of the Yeltsin years.

As pointed out by Atossa, my Russian nationalist friend who like me is ostracized in this ill-fated society, Vladimir Putin is being fashioned by the Kremlin as "God's Anointed Orthodox Autocratic Tsar". The key difference between Atossa and I, however, is that believe the story being written in Moscow is a product of man's authorship of human history rather than God's, although I am counter-arguing even if without success to-date.
