Police in the UK were filmed harassing people on the streets and beaches again this past weekend merely for walking or sitting down.

An incident in London was captured as a woman remonstrated with cops after they attempted to stop her for getting a coffee near to where she lives.

The woman advised police that that should be concentrating on knife crime instead.

Police were patrolling London all weekend, interrogating and fining anyone they found to be sitting down for too long, or having strayed too far away from where they live:

As some people attempted to go for a walk on a beach in Northumbria, police were there to check papers and ensure they hadn’t come from out of the immediate area:

At an anti-lockdown protest in Bishops Park in London, police made arrests, including aggressively apprehending a woman who refused to ‘show her papers’:

It has become a familiar site in the UK and has been going on for months, yet even police themselves are sick of it.

“Police don’t want to police this. We have had enough of this. It is not policeable. It is not manageable,” Ken Marsh, the chairman of the Metropolitan Police Federation told The Telegraph Sunday.

Marsh added that police do not want to put themselves at risk when they have to break distancing restrictions to question and arrest people over lockdown rules.

“We have to break Covid legislation every day of the week,” he said, adding “What if I turn round and say to my 32,000 members: ‘Adhere totally to Covid legislation.'”

“That is not what we want, but if we have to do that to protect my colleagues I will do that. Ministers are just not listening,” Marsh urged.

Yeah, Ok. And there's folks on this very board that will swear up and down the UK is not socialist. I agree, maybe they've gone full commie.
Technically it is much more fascist than socialists, the "Big" companies like Tesco (think Walmart), Amazon, Netflix, etc, love this situation. They are extremely happy to have the government shut down nearly everything and everyone both in the UK and Ireland.

It keeps small shops and independent business closed and will probably destroy most of them before this is over (including most pubs which can then be bought up cheap by multinationals) and forces nearly everyone to either buy on-line or only shop at the huge supermarkets (which have a lot of department store goods as well).

People stuck at home spend a lot more time on the internet watching Netflix and Disney, making the telecom companies and energy companies really happy (more use of home electricity, gas etc).

That is kind of a blend of traditional fascism where the government is in bed with big business and Crony/Disaster Capitalism (also sometimes called Corporatism) where eventually the Corporations own the government itself (officially rather than just unofficially).

A few Socialist Policies get thrown in to try to keep the surfs happy but mostly it is the Corporations writing the "Five Year Plans."

Just some observations from living over here, especially the last few months as this just drags on and on and people are getting tired of compliance. Especially with comments (in Ireland) that suggest we may get out of this oh in another year or so...

wouldn't you rather give tickets to little old ladies than stop a knife fight or attempt to arrest a violent meth head?

wouldn't you rather Zoom your classroom teaching for 2 hrs from home rather than wrangle 20+ bored, obnoxious teens?

some of the reasons unions won't let this end

We have a friend that teaches highschool in the UK it is NOTHING like you are describing, she works twice as hard as she ever did and often has to still teach directly from the school (so commuting) and sometimes she has classes where half the kids are in the classroom the other half off-line. Parent-Teacher conferences are a nightmare and half the time the kids don't show up on zoom or they can't because their home internet isn't working or because the family has several kids on one device (sometimes just a phone).

Then she often has to do three sets of lesson plans rather than one set, because on-line, mixed classrooms, and in-person classrooms are all different.

That is without all the usual grading and other unpaid work teaches already do - she worked 25 years in the US and 20 years now in the UK system (she married a Brit) and if her husband hadn't been laid off she would probably quit. I've known her both in the US and over-here about 35 years or so now, she's a great person.

She can't wait to get back into the classroom full time and neither can most of the UK teachers she knows.

The woman advised police that that should be concentrating on knife crime instead.

Sad, you know they want to ban knives with sharp points. Every knife will have a rounded tip, they say.

That’ll be SO effective, cuz no one could grind them to a point. (Grinders and metal files will be next on the ban list.)

oh they're crafty over there...
Decades ago they banned Glass beer mugs because they could be broken and sharp edges used to cut fellow pub brawler's. They ordered them replaced with non-breakable plastic mugs.

IIRC in England you do not have a legal right to use deadly force, even to save your own life.

Have to dull the edges, as well. Don’t want anybody getting slashed. Butter will have to be left out of the fridge.

"Adhere totally to covid legislation."

They toss you a pair of handcuffs. "Please put the handcuffs on, sir. No...no, sir, don't walk away from them. What do you MEAN 'you suspect they're contaminated'?"

be funny to take them to court for attempted murder

'what do you mean attempted murder?"

"theres no proof that these handcuffs were sanitized between 'cuffings"

the officer also did not do social distancing

how do I know that the last person he apprehended, didnt have covid or aids or,....

plus.. some of his saliva got on me when I kicked him in the nuts

and his tooth cut my hand

I cant be sure he didnt have a blood borne highly contageous condition

Welsh Man Arrested, Claims He Was Strip-Searched For Going For A Walk Too Far From Home

Authored by Paul Joseph Watson via Summit News,

A man in Wales was arrested by police for going for a walk too far from home and failing to identify himself before he claimed he was taken to the police station and subjected to a strip search.

The incident was highlighted by Welsh member of Parliament Neil McEvoy, who posted a video of the arrest to Twitter.

According to McEvoy, the couple in question were grieving the recent death of an uncle and wanted to visit the nearest beach to go for a walk.

Mr. Radek, the man seen being handcuffed in the video, says that the couple had been struggling with mental health issues as a result of lockdown.

“My family was struggling with many issues that are sourced in the constant lockdowns and homeschooling,” said Radek.
“On top of that came personal family problems which we faced in the last months. They include the very serious illness of my wife’s brother and death of close relatives. We were not even able to say goodbye or go and attend the funeral in Poland.”

On returning to the car park after their walk on Talacre Beach, Radek and his wife were confronted by two female police officers who had been handing out fines.

Radek was told he had violated coronavirus regulations and was handcuffed before being subjected to a search without consent.

After refusing to give his name (which is not a legal requirement), Radek says he was taken to the police station, interrogated and shouted at.

Radek then says he was told to remove his clothes and threatened with their removal by scissors if he didn’t. He was then subjected to a humiliating strip search while being denied use of the toilet.

“It felt very humiliating and intimidating. I was explained my rights to speak to a solicitor and after about 3 hours I was released,” said Radek, who was not charged with any crime.
This is merely another example of the draconian policing now in force throughout the UK, with lockdown set to continue in some form until at least the end of June.

As we highlighted earlier, a woman in London was harassed by officers for trying to buy a coffee two miles from where she lives, while another video shows police harassing people for sitting down.
