The fruits of the new agreement between the U.S. men’s and women’s soccer teams is about to pay off.

Under the equal-pay agreement signed this year, the teams will split the prize money for the World Cup. That means that both teams will get $6.5 million for the men’s team advancing to the Round of 16 and will continue to split the prize money down the middle.

The terms, agreed to in May and formally signed in September, put both teams on the same payment model through 2028.

This is a mens soccer match, so they weren't even participating.

So, like why are they getting this?

The reason the women don't make as much as the men's team is they don't attract (especially with purple hair and all men are bad) as big an audience. On TV etc. When was the last time anyone here watched a woman's soccer match? Even with them pulling their jersey's off?

Real Madrid is a Spanish all men's team. Even though few may have heard of them on this board, they are one the biggest teams in Europe, one of the biggest grossing teams, so can pay big bucks for players, which in turn means more wins, which means more money, which......you get the picture. They even have their own TV Channel, the whole channel is them playing soccer all the time.

The women's team can't even fill a stadium, and at least the US and England have their own women's league. Have you heard or know anything about them?

That is why they don't make as much as the men. Not gender. Not equal.

If an international player with big pockets wanted to "free the men"{{Paging Elon}} he could start his own "league" and just tell the team owners there will be NO SPLITTING of the earnings/winnings with people not involved. The WOKE organisers who did this to appease about 200 women players are going to see their whole franchise fold. A saavy business man could "buy" the entire mens league by just putting up the pledge. Any mens team that didn't switch leages is left workingg with half their earnings, and 'in bed' with the extortionist dykes.

The Irish men are pretty good. I just happened to watch highlights of the game where Portugal beat them in the Euro qualifiers. Ireland should have at least drawn that game. The refs were obviously making sure Christiano Ronaldo got to the World Cup. Totally random penalty kick was the difference in the game. Ireland had excellent ball handling and played smart.

(By the way, soccer should change the penalty kick to allow one additional defender. Make it less automatic, but worse for the defense than a free kick. As it is, a ref can basically award a whole point with a single call.)

This split idea is stupid. What about a woman who barely failed to make the women's team, so she missed the free money from the men's team. Or a woman who thinks the women's team isn't worth her time but is good enough to play. The men should not have participated in this sort of deal.

This isn't because I hate the USWNT. I liked them better this Olympics than previous teams. They weren't just out-muscling the other teams, winning by playing ugly, but used ball control and finesse. Still I don't like this deal and don't know why the men agreed to it.

Any game in which the scores are routinely in single digits cannot be considered a sporting match. A single fluke shot can determine the outcome. Knowing which team is actually better requires double digit scores and differences greater than one or two. Anything else is just flipping coins.

Just like in tennis… women only play best of 3 games to a match for Masters series, but men have to play up to best of 5.

On any given day......there's a reason they play, on that day.

This makes me think of the Bankee's. Enough payroll money and you can buy last years all stars, every year....

Anything boys can do, girls can do better! And if you guys draw the crowds that bring in the money (because men are far and away the better sportsball players), well it naturally follows that you split the $ with the girls (who had absolutely nothing to do with the boys' games).

I mean, this IS upside-down bizarro world, right???

Absolute insanity. And if there was to be any masculine protest, they'd likely be cancelled, harassed, doxxed by the harridans.
