Story Up On Hartford Ridge

Based on the above assurances from our Author, I slept well last night. Until 06:33 when our power went out.

Obviously my usual morning was rendered bleak: no coffee and no TB2K!

One can only take so much!

I have at least 5+ ways to insure those around me are safe from the results of me not having fresh brewed coffee within five or so minutes of getting out of bed.

Gas stove and old school percolator, or at least a small alcohol stove. Come on man, you read the stories here too!
You don't have a outside kitchen, BBBQ, grill area, ''Dude, how do you live''????
You can boil water on the ''grills'' for instant, K-cup and make your breakfast too.
Got 3 60,000 BTU burners on a stand-by Camp Chef Coffee Grill, ready to rock @ any time, night or day. Blue Porcelain camp coffee pots over 50 years old
Got a Napoleon screen rotisserie basket for roasting coffee beans.
That's on the rotisserie grill.
No excuses, you need coffee, adapt, overcome, succeed, then start :cmpcf:drinking.

Kathy- you have my un-dying gratitude for having brought this great story so far. If it ain't my favorite, it's so far up the list as to make no never-mind. You're now forgiven for all previous cliff-hangers.
However... this amnesty extends only to all past transgressions. Any and all cliff-hangers from this point on shall be considered as attacks on my sanity and mental well-being. If I go stark-raving bonkers due to withdrawal from a regular supply of "Hartford Ridge"... nah, let's not even go there.;)

SHHhhhhh! Seriously? You want to get your membership revoked??!

At casa OGM there will be coffee as long as there is coffee! No grid power? Not a problem. Gas burner. If all else fails? Break out the charcoal. Will consider getting an inverter for the car.....

OKAY, now that Kathy is playing admin, we should help her out. Every one write one sentence for this story to keep us occupied while she's otherwise occupied. I'll start but can't find the tongue in cheek emoji...

"The bullet narrowly missed my cheek. It did hit the cast iron frying pan in my hand and bounced right back at him (remember he was firing at point blank range at Kaylee). He didn't appreciate that."

:apc: On second thought, think I'll just be patient and wait for Kathy to have time to feed us more of her words.

"The Asian gang member caught the bullet between his teeth, then inhaled quickly in shock. His face quickly turned blue as the aspirated projectile cut off his airway."

Yeah, we better leave it to Kathy. (Love you, Kathy!)
The rest of the escapees ran to help their fallen comrade, tripped hit their heads and died.

We'd better leave it to Kathy. (Thank you Mother Hen!)

At least we thought they were dead. We crawled out from our hiding spot and saw all of the people running and screaming to get away from whoever was shooting. Then one of the gang members lifted his head and moaned. Kaylee, who was still angry with the family and with almost getting shot, lifted up her trusty cast iron frying pan, and hit the gang member square on the head. "Die, scum!" she said as she watched him collapse motionless....

Waiting for Kathy...........and having some fun while we're at it. Waiting for Kathy to re-direct. LOL!! (Personally, I like your writing and ideas better, Kathy!)

They make great washers for self tapping screws.
Cheaper too.
Wouldn't you get electrolysis with two different types of metal?

It seems Kay-Lee has identified the Mutineers. It also seems the two main characters are constantly putting out brush fires either their own or the extended family's. A good reminder that multiple unrelated emergencies can and do happen at the same time. That can cause a glitch in prepping and prioritizing.

Gloom, despair, and agony on me
Deep dark depression, excessive misery
If it weren't for Kathy's others, I'd have no story at all,
Gloom despair and agony on me.
