HAHNVILLE — Two men from Brooklyn, New York, were arrested and charged after allegedly flying a drone over three chemical plants in Louisiana — Dow Chemical, Linde and Air Liquide, arrest records show.

Volodymyr Dorogobid, 38, and Tigran Avetisyan, 39, were both charged with three counts of unlawful use of an unmanned aircraft and a felony charge of evidence tampering.

Investigators say they received a call about a drone flying over Dow Chemical in Hahnville February 21. When they went to investigate, they found a black Kia Sportage on the shoulder of LA 3142.

Inside the vehicle, detectives found Dorogobid in the rear driver’s side seat with a controller and Avetisyan in the front passenger seat wearing virtual reality goggles, the arrest record says.

The men were told to land the drone, and the records show they did comply by landing it on the top of the levee. Both men went to “get the drone with a bag,” the investigators said.

“They were on the (top of levee) for approximately five minutes and returned with the bag,” the arrest records said.

The detectives said that the men then refused to show them the drone and refused to answer any more questions. They later learned that the men allegedly tried to hide the drone in a field.

St. Charles Parish Sheriff Greg Champagne said, “We are working with the FBI on this case. We confiscated their drones, cell phones and goggles.”

Investigators say they observed the drone from the St. Charles Parish Emergency Operation Center. The drone reportedly flew over Dow Chemical, Linde and America Air Liquide.

The men told the detectives that they rented the vehicle in Miami and were going to return it to Houston.

The men have since bonded out.

Squeeze them like grapes- enhanced interrogation, learn ALL that they know. Actionable intel? Use it or lose it. The former? TWEP. The later? “Retire” the decision makers not enabling option one…

She is also crawling with God fearing, America loving patriots who have skills too.

The astute observer would never know that, even if they did some deep investigative work.

No…..what this Russian thing says, loud and clear…..

“America……reign in your shit show or we’ll reciprocate in kind.”

Sounds like sound advice, to me.

What say you, Americans ?

the writing is on the wall He said, "Remember this, Dumitru. The Russian spies have discovered where the nuclear warehouses are in America. When the Americans will think that it is peace and safety - from the middle of the country, some of the people will start fighting against the government. The government will be busy with internal problems.

So let me get this straight…

Deputies Billy Bob and Barney just asked “Pretty please, will you 2 spymasters go get your spy gear from the levee? We’ll wait right here. Thank you”.

They bonded out. Before anyone knew exactly what they were doing there. They won't be back. They are Russians.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to guess it was probably espionage.

And someone made a few calls for them...and they are out.

Can't tell which side these courts are on any more.

Just like the Chinese spy balloon...no concern whatsoever about the intel
Being collected or by whom...Chinese, Russian, who cares.

Our own gullibleness will be our end.

Saved, to glorify God.
You could start a hundred forest fires winth a few drones, just watch which way the wind blows and start em ahead to send the fire into residential areas.

Drones should be licensed with the owners required to have their CORRECT name and address AND PHONE # on a metal plate affixed to the drone, like a dog tag!
Any drone without that ID TAG, AUTOMATICALLY
SUBJECT TO SEIZURE BY POLICE IF MERELY FOUND OUTSIDE YOUR HOME.
Or, found flying ANYWHERE!

YOU ARE CORRECT.
SAME FOR DRUGS&GUNS!!

oh wait...

Seriously, no one despises drones more than me. I feel the air space over my property is just as inviolable as my surface or mineral rights which I own.

They trespassed. Charge or cite them accordingly. If worse intent can be proven, drop the hammer of Justice on them.

I predict this will disappear from view sooner than later...

What special info could a drone get that a Russian satellite couldn't collect every day? Are there signs up in the area that ban flying drones?

They already are to an extent. The problem is if they don't have the IFF and GPS registered, that is where you get into trouble.
