I completely agree with Angus, and am VERY proud of this young man who is taking a stand of righteousness against the dark filth of this television series which he co-stars in. Hopefully, this will not destroy his career, but rather, open new door of opportunities for positive things in his future. May we keep him in our prayers, that he will stay firm in the faith (amidst the ridicule and persecution) and represent his faith in Messiah with integrity and faithful consistency in shining as a bright light in a dark place.

‘Two And A Half Men’ Star Angus T. Jones Calls Show ‘Filth’

http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2012/11/27/two-and-a-half-men-star-angus-t-jones-calls-show-filth/

“Two and a Half Men” star Angus T. Jones is under fire for criticizing the show — even going so far as to call it “filth” — in an online video in which he professes his religious beliefs.

“Jake from ‘Two and a Half Men’ means nothing. He is a nonexistent character,” the 19-year-old actor says of his character on the hit CBS program. “If you watch ‘Two and a Half Men,’ please stop watching ‘Two and a Half Men.’ I’m on ‘Two and a Half Men’ and I don’t want to be on it.”

Jones appears in the video seated next to televangelist Christopher Hudson, whose sermons appear in YouTube videos called “The Forerunner Chronicles.”

“Please stop filling your head with filth, please. People say it’s just entertainment…” Jones said.

His religious comments are consistent with an interview he gave on his 19th birthday last month, when he sat down with Connie Jeffery at the Adventist Media Center in Simi Valley to talk about his newfound beliefs.

“I basically had the experience of the baptism of the Holy Spirit…I felt like I was being hugged inside and out and…it was the best feeling ever,” Jones said.

Jones told Jeffery that he got into drugs when his parents divorced and was never very religious. Last year, when he was unsure if he would return to the show, he questioned his course and found God.

Jeffery released a statement that said, in part: “The Adventist Church in North America was pleased to learn that Angus T. Jones recently began attending one of their churches in Southern California and became a baptized member.”

CBS2/KCAL9 was unable to reach Jones’ mother for comment. She has told a British newspaper that she felt her son was being exploited.

Hudson said those claims were “absolutely ridiculous.”

In the wake of Two and A Half Men star Angus T. Jones's rant against the program -- and its' off-color humor -- the young actor's mother says she's "concerned he's being exploited by the church."

Carey, 42, gave the brief statement to Mail Online after her son stirred up controversy by bashing his own program during a testimonial he videotaped for the Forerunner Christian Church.

As we previously reported, Angus went on a surprising rant against the hit CBS show he's been on almost 10 years, telling viewers to stop watching and "filling your head with filth."

If Mr. Jones is sincere in his beliefs, then he also has a decision to make. I would expect him to tender his resignation from the show.

He is right, however, about the program.

Of course his mother doesn't understand! She isn't a Christian and she probably wants him to make lots of money! Good for Angus! I hope God blesses him for taking a stand where nobody ever does!!

Good for him! This stand takes a lot of courage in today's immoral environment. Praying he can keep walking the walk, and stay strong in the Lord.

He can't resign. He's locked into a muli-year contract. As for his mom being concerned that he is being exploited by his church- her signing him to multiyear deals as an 8yr old child is pretty exploitive- so I guess she is the pot calling the kettle black, no?

I doubt he will have to. They will just stop paying him and break his contract.

Mommy is afraid her cash cow has dried up.
Though with the Coogan Laws she isn't getting as much as parents have gotten in the past, unless her Trust Fund Salary is huge...

ANd having raised the contract issue I will now back away and let the SME explain....

When I saw his "rant" last night, I thought he probably did it not only to express his feelings, but also thinking the network would probably fire him and he'd get out of being on the show. He is absolutely right - that show is nothing but filth, like much of what is on tv.

I do not watch that show myself. I always thought it was filth too.

As for Angus Jones? I could not be happier for him!!!
The Lord is using him in a great way!!

Angus has just blacklisted himself from Hollywood. Not sure if he realizes the ramifications of that yet, but the entire place is a slime pit run by satan himself. I'm thrilled he found Jesus and has the guts to speak up, it's a very brave thing to do, especially in that cesspit. We'll probably begin seeing a barrage of hit pieces on him-that or they'll Ron Paul him and censor even the mention of his name.

This particular article indicates that Mr. Jones' contract expires at the end of the current season.

The teenage actor who plays the half in the hit CBS comedy "Two and a Half Men" says it is "filth" and through a video posted by a Christian church has urged viewers not to watch it.

Angus T. Jones talks about why 'Two and a Half Men' no longer fits with his values.

Nineteen-year-old Angus T. Jones has been on the show, which used to feature bad-boy actor Charlie Sheen and remains heavy with sexual innuendo, since he was 10 but says he doesn't want to be on it anymore.

"Please stop watching it," Jones said. "Please stop filling your head with filth."

Jones plays Jake, the son of Jon Cryer's uptight divorced chiropractor character, Alan, and the nephew of Sheen's hedonistic philandering music jingle writer character, Charlie. Sheen, who has publicly criticized CBS, was fired and replaced by Ashton Kutcher, who plays billionaire Walden.

In the video posted by the Forerunner Christian Church in Fremont, California, Jones describes a search for a spiritual home. He says the type of entertainment he's involved in adversely affects the brain and "there's no playing around when it comes to eternity."

"You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that," he said. "I know I can't. I'm not OK with what I'm learning, what the Bible says, and being on that television show."

CBS and the show's producer Warner Bros. Television had no comment Monday.

"Two and a Half Men" survived a wild publicity ride less than two years ago, when Sheen was fired for his drug use and publicly complained about the network and the show's creator, Chuck Lorre. Sheen later said he wasn't still angry at the sitcom's producers and the network and acknowledged he would have fired himself had he been in their shoes.

The show was moved from Monday to Thursday this season, and its average viewership has dropped from 20 million an episode to 14.5 million, although last year's numbers were somewhat inflated by the intense interest in Kutcher's debut. It is the third most popular comedy on television behind CBS's "The Big Bang Theory" and ABC's "Modern Family."

The actors on "Two and a Half Men" have contracts that run through the end of this season.

Mr. Jones probably figures that at this point, with the show having started its descent into its downward popularity arc, he doesn't have that much to lose. Sounds like he probably isn't interested in coming back, if the show is picked up again for yet another season. He might want to do something else now, anyway.

Personally, I liked the show more when Charlie Sheen was still on it. Granted, it was prime-time trash then, too, but at least it was moderately entertaining. I saw one episode with Ashton Kutcher, and I marveled, for about 30 seconds, at how Hollywood could make a 6-ft. plus turnip appear to be talking.

But then the novelty of that wore off.

He should also return any of his gains back to the sponsors...if he is sincere in his statement.

He is under contract and can't just walk out, may be his way of forcing their hand to sack him, I was amazed he was allowed to be on the show at all when he was younger, scar anyone that age
It is sad and noteworthy though, in the Bible it talks about, people will be lovers of evil and haters of good, in Oz talk show host here called him a brat and so did the panel, then they had the news about our swimmer going off the rails drunk smashing a pensioners mobility scooter, they all loved it, said it is great to see young people having fun, praising stupidity and criticizing someone saying their faith is making them say don't watch the program
Time may be just at hand

On talk radio they mentioned that he makes $300,000 per episode and fully expects to not have his contract renewed after this season. If he indeed has joined the 7th Day Adventist Church then he is making profound decisions regarding not only his spiritual wellfare but also life style changes since the church has specific doctrine regarding diet and when to meet as a church body. May he be given wisdom and clarity in his new walk as a believer and may he also have protection from all evil. Even if that includes his mother.

Angus T. Jones apologizes after 'Two and a Half Men' remarks

So "Two and a Half Men" is filth -- but it's his filth?
Angus T. Jones, the young actor whose attack on his own show in an interview with a Christian outlet raised doubt about whether he would return, attempted Tuesday to pull off what appears to be a complete reversal, praising the show that he had previously asked viewers to stop watching.
"I apologize if my remarks reflect me showing indifference to and disrespect of my colleagues and a lack of appreciation of the extraordinary opportunity of which I have been blessed. I never intended that," Jones said in a statement.
He goes on, thanking the creators and producers of the comedy show, saying "Chuck Lorre, Peter Roth and many others at Warner Bros. and CBS are responsible for what has been one of the most significant experiences in my life to date. I thank them for the opportunity they have given and continue to give me and the help and guidance I have and expect to continue to receive from them."
Earlier, sources close to the show told the Associated Press Jones would not appear in the next two episodes of the show. The source indicated Jones’ absence has nothing to do with his recent Charlie Sheen-like outburst, in which he called the show “filth.”
Following news of Jones' comments, Sheen spoke out about the show. "With Angus’ Hale-Bopp-like meltdown, it is radically clear to me that the show is cursed," Sheen said. And according to The Hollywood Reporter, the statement references a group suicide from 1977 involving members of the Heaven's Gate cult.
Jones, who has played the role of Jake Harper, "the half" on the hit CBS show since 2003, was featured in a new video for the Forerunner Christian Church, in which he says the sitcom contradicts his devout Christian values. The video hit the web on Monday.
In the rant, the 19-year-old actor, who reportedly earns $350,000 an episode, even urges fans to stop watching.
"I'm on 'Two and a Half Men' and I don't want to be on it,” he said. "If you watch 'Two and a Half Men,' please stop watching it and filling your head with filth. People say it’s just entertainment. Do some research on the effects of television and your brain, and I promise you you’ll have a decision to make when it comes to television, especially with what you watch."
Jones goes on to express guilt that his profession may be inflicting serious damage on its audience.
"If I am doing any harm, I don't want to be here. I don't want to be contributing to the enemy's plan ... You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that. I know I can't,” he continued. “I'm not OK with what I'm learning, what the Bible says and being on that television show."
Forerunner Chronicles, the Alabama-based Church, which conducted the interview, was not immediately available for further comment.
Fox News' Hollie McKay and the Associated Press contributed to this report.

Chuck Lorre is a perv, every show he creates turns into filth, he almost managed it with Big Bang Theory but the public backlash was so strong that they had to go back to the original geek premise of the show.

Chuck Lorre started in the business about the same time I started.
He had an office a few doors down from mine when I was at Marvel Television in the 80's.

A little story about how get got into show business... a writer friend of mine (co-wrote Yellow Submarine) found Chuck, his wife and two little girls stranded in a supermarket parking lot living in their car, out of gas, out of money and his two girls eating McDonald's hamburgers with the last of their pocket change. My friend brought them into his home and got Chuck started in the animation writing business at DIC Studios writing Heathcliff cartoons. He wrote a crap load of these cartoons in record time and pocketed a load of cash. Later he takes off in the film industry--ditches his wife and kids when he joins Scientology, and then becomes "the 500 million dollar TV man."

My writer friend (who took him in and started him in the film industry) some years later hits some hard economic times and calls Lorre for a favor and some strings to be pulled with a major network.... Lorre refuses to take his calls (having become a massive a-hole).

True story.

This kid does not have to lift a finger for the rest of his life.
His residual TV payments will earn him millions over the course of the next 20 years.

The production company will probably offer to buy out his residuals in a one-lump-payment.
The sum will most likely be over 30 million dollars.

A friend of mine worked for Johnny Carson as a writer (made 60 k per week BTW).
He wrote all the Karnak jokes.
When they were planning to release Johnny Carson Classics (a massive failure BTW), they bought out my friend's residuals' for a lump payment of 15 million.
He was lucky he took the deal, because the syndication of original Carson shows is practically non-existant, and the Carson Classics failed big-time.

There will never be another Johnny Carson or any of those good old shows.....(I have "read" he had "issues" , but still...) I saw Two and a Half Men one time and could NOT believe how bold it was for prime time TV. I'm no prude, and I certainly don't have fragile ears but that show was just a little too much for me.

Hey, the kid's an actor. He's accustomed to delivering lines. Only question that matters is whose script he really follows in life, and like lots of Hollyweird kids, he seems to be ... conflicted.

Hope he gets it all sorted out. I feel sorry for him, having to deal with all this with no more structure in life than he seems to have.

Hummm...JMHO but this is looking more and more like a publicity stunt. The show is sinking in the ratings and has been since Sheen was let go. What better way to bring a little life back? Tell people not to watch and what is the frist thing everyone wants to do? They want to watch and see what all the hub bub is about. This is the second actor on the show to go off on a rant, too.

Something smells here....

What did he want to do with Big Bang? I love that show.

Do you remember the episode two seasons back, it was the last show of the season, where Penny ended up in bed with Kuthrapoli (sp?). A LOT of viewers were royally pissed off about that incident, and not because Kuthrapoli was Indian but because Lorre was basically taking BBT down the same road of filth and debauchery as two and a half men. There was a HUGE backlash on the studios via Twitter, FB, Tumblr, blog posts, and threats made on boycotting advetisers. The next season started with it all being an innocent gaff, ummmm yeah right.

Anyway, they are still going at it and strong with Kuthrapoli now engaging in a implied gay relationship with Stewart the guy who owns the comic book store. I'm sure that wallowitz will be committing adultry and soon because Lorre just can't keep his spots hidden for long. Like I said everything Hiam touches turns to sh*t and in short order. Truth be told the guy is probably also producing porn, aside from the soft porn of two and a half men, using another alias. It would seem the guy has rather strong issues with sex.

Agreed, it's on here at 7pm and it's just insane that that kind of filth is on during the supposed family hour. I think that that is why there was such an uproar when Lorre and company tried to take Big Bang Theory down the same route, it was one of the few shows left where good comedy still existed, heavy on inuendo, but geesh most of us still know how to use our imaginations.

There are plenty of other "entertainment" avenues that do not require one to be in the "Hollywood" circles.

There are lots of Christian movies that are out there. Lots of Christian actions of famous names that do not wish to be a part of the smut any longer. Kirk Cameron, Stephen Baldwin, Lou Gosset Jr, to name a few. There have been a stream of popular movies lately like Left Behind, Flywheel, Facing the Giants, Courageous, and Fireproof.

There is also Broadway and the "back of the house" if he wishes to get educated in that. If he can make the right connections, he can go far.
