Twitter permanently suspends Marjorie Taylor Greene's personal account
Greene's personal account was suspended over "repeated violations" of the company's Covid-19 misinformation policy, the company said.

Twitter suspended a personal account for Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene after "repeated violations" of the Covid-19 misinformation policy, the company said Sunday.
"We permanently suspended the account you referenced (@mtgreenee) for repeated violations of our COVID-19 misinformation policy," Twitter said in a statement. "We’ve been clear that, per our strike system for this policy, we will permanently suspend accounts for repeated violations of the policy."

Greene, R-Ga., appears to still have access to her professional account, @RepMTG, but Twitter did not say what was tweeted to earn a permanent suspension.
Greene said, in a statement Sunday through her office, that she was suspended for tweeting statistics from the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System.

"Twitter is an enemy to America and can’t handle the truth," Greene said. "That’s fine, I’ll show America we don’t need them and it’s time to defeat our enemies."
Twitter's policy was enacted in March last year, implementing a strike system for violations. A single strike may not incur an action, but the company will place lock's on an account that repeatedly violates the policy.

She'll now have more street credibility on Gab. A lot of Gab readers don't trust her because she also had a Twitter account.

All she did, though, was send mean tweets and try to raise campaign funds. I haven't seen her actually do anything.

I'm not an active follower nor overt fan; My concern is the ongoing efforts of this unelected and ungovernable technological monolith to function as a ruling, rewarding, and punitive body.
It is beyond frightening that it is allowed to wield such power over our public square. Even more frightening is the relative sound of silence over the issue. We kavetch, meme and mock, but we should have already fired up our torches and polished our pitchforks, imho.

And do what, exactly, Jward? As I wrote on another thread, there is zero leadership. All we have are those saying, "Go protest." Where? How?

Contrast that with saying, "Make 5 FJB signs on poster board in 10" letters and show up on the overpass at 5th and Grand on Saturday at 3 pm."

The latter simply isn't happening and until it does, don't expect to see the huge protests like there are in other countries.

If you are interested, look up the overpass protest movement on Gab. That's a grassroots protest movement that I think will gain more traction this spring.

This too shall pass.

Wouldn't it be more useful to protest outside the homes of Congressmen (and women, of course), and the homes of the owners of Twitter, FB, and so on? I don't see what protesting on overpasses is going to do.

i think it is so people will actually SEE the signs and the protest.

the biggest problem is that the media is not allowing the protests that are happening, and airtime. people don't even know they are happening.

to do it on an over pass, the likelihood of people seeing it is much greater, and if they put the correct info on the card, and direct them where to look, then those people have a better chance of knowing what to look for and where to find it.

I suppose my reference to fantasies of torches and pitchforks might have sounded like a pitch for protests. I've not given it much thought, but I'd probably try the legal remedies first.
..although, we should be sending busloads of illegals to "make an honest days wages" doing "jobs americans won't" holding signs wherever the likes of Paloski and Gadde are to be found

The sound of silence is due to twatter banning anyone that dares to speak against them and their idiotic policies! twatter is the right arm of the ccp.

MGT should be thankful for being tossed from Twitter. Now she can truly claim to "be like Trump."

Funny. Back in the day you might have your telephone "monitored" , possibly recorded. And the information garnered might be used against you. Now, there is nothing hidden - you're either on their side of the line, or your own side.

This IS fortunate, lest you reveal more than you wish in battle. It is a battle but since MGT is not the one doing the toss, she can claim "non-combatant status." (For all the good it will do.)

"Balkanization" is the term - named after a similar "split" which occurred in the Balkan states in the 1990s. (or before)

Twitter would actually be a more effective tool in war if it were more like phone taps.

Kathleen,

If we protested outside the commie's houses the swat teams, FBI, etc. would slam us into the DC jail and throw away the key. As for the social media sites, I vote with my feet and ignore their sites.

How about these for a few ideas to get us started. Maybe others can chime in with a few more:
  1. Recognize that they are at war with us. They want us uninformed, confused, isolated, coward, sick and dependent on them for our lives so they can control us.
  2. Continue to support each other and those who support what we believe. They want us fighting each other. Let the petty disagreements go; to support the bigger picture.
  3. Stop shopping at and supporting the big corporations that have shown themselves to be working against us. This includes any corporation going along with illegal mandates. (Wal-Mart, MeDonald's, apple, Google, Amazon, Home Depot, Kroger, airlines, etc.) Support local farmers and shops. Set up bartering where you can.
  4. Stop supporting any non-profit organization supporting illegal aliens. I'm sorry - I know your Christian heart wants to do right by people but if we support these 401c3's that are 401c3 for the sole purpose of defrauding us (think Clinton Foundation, Salvation Army, and many so-called Christian charities, etc.), then they don't deserve our support.
  5. Turn off TV. Keep those CNN and MSNBC (and others) numbers plummeting. Don't fill your brain with stupid $hit. Use that TV-viewing time instead, learning about how our country is supposed to work. Log onto Hillsdale College and find their free online courses that teach about the Constitution and civics. Become a competent citizen.
  6. Stop supporting congressional representatives that are not doing their job. Spend 1 hour a week flooding their offices with emails, calls and letters with your disgust. Continue to point out the injustices of the Jan 6 "protestors" in jail without basic rights, the situation at the border, and other topics of interest to you. Call them out for their voting record. Let them know you are awake and watching. Dishearten them so much they will choose not to run for re-election. If you have a local representative that you like, who is up for election this year, donate your time to help. Financially support representatives that are working FOR the people even if they are not "your" representatives.
  7. Stop going places where a mask is required. Stop getting jabs. Don't tell me your job requires it because jobs are all around these days. You'll probably get a raise with the move.
  8. Vacation at and spend money in the free states.
  9. Purchase a firearm or purchase a case of ammo - even if you'll never use it, don't need it, or don't want it. Learn to use it. Obtain a conceal carry license even if your state doesn't require it, even if you don't own a firearm - you will be learning about and supporting the 2A. Without the 2A none of the others can be defended.
  10. Start going to school board meetings even if you don't have children in school. Get a list of every public meeting in your area. Make a point to start showing up occasionally and knowing what's going on in your area. Write opinion pieces for your local paper.
  11. Support homeopathic medical practitioners that offer treatments outside of big pharma as much as you are able, given your health situation.
  12. Continue to give a thumbs down on appropriate YouTube videos - yes I know they remove them - but the more we do it the more obvious it becomes to those who have yet woken up, Get familiar with the social media platforms that don't censure. Support content creators who are doing a good job. Continue to insert comments on social media where ever and as often as you can. Even "news" outlets have a comment section below articles.
  13. Help people wake up. The faster everyone wakes up the faster we'll be done with this. Don't be afraid to share your thoughts with friends and family. Do it in a respectful way. Don't preach or lecture. Don't argue. There is much confusion. Offer them another perspective; not another "I'm right, therefore you must be wrong" stance. Inform yourself and keep an open mind.
  14. Fly your flag proudly. Support our vets, not with money with with your time. One hour a week can make a big difference. Do something to be useful. Let them know we appreciate the rights we have because of them. Organize your church to build a ramp for someone in a wheelchair or do some needed home maintenance. Your local legion probably has a list of what's needed. And when they ask, "how can I thank you?" ask them to continue fighting this new "information" war by doing the same as the items above.
  15. Get into the fight. Make a strategic plan. If you can spend a few hours every month helping our side to fight the war we can easily win back the country we want. Whatever you can do is better than not - and, it will make you feel better to be doing something useful.
  16. Remember - you're either part of the problem, part of the solution or part of the landscape.

Dennis is absolutely correct on this point. Not only that, Twitter is no longer a home-grown platform that is distinctly American, or holds American thought processes and patterns. It is an international organization with more international leadership than American leadership. It no longer, if it ever did, holds appeal for the majority of Americans.

Once American leadership really absorbs that fact and stops using it to try and communicate with their constituents, its value will tank and a communication method.

It's becoming a badge of honor to be "banned" from that platform. That is about all it is good for these days.

Social media isn't all that social

Orgs gathering/selling our data/usage
Multinational ownership or at least leadership
All obviously biased based on their Terms & Practices

DW has a LinkedIn for business contacts & a FB to track her family. Rarely if ever posts on either.

I have nada. A couple of email addys, membership on several forums. If I turn on TV its to a classic oldies movie channel or to watch something like YS or now 1883. Other than that, I check weather watch Local news for maybe 30-45 min /day.

Wife works remotely so she has TV on as white noise but hears/sees nothing except her monitors.

When I see something raised as an issue on a forum, I usually have to search out some background.

Works for us but probably not the path many want to follow

Actually the article (from the earlier thread) suggests that only 25% of Americans (bots self identifying as American eh??!) have accounts, and that of them, some small percentage, like 10-25% post the bulk of the content.

The actual # of users may be small, but their power and influences is disproportionately weighted in the other direction; it is they who make up the ranks of those who shape the policies, laws and recommendations that govern, legally or otherwise, the rest of us... for that reason alone, I like to see the strong conservative and SANE voices engage them in the public square, rather than see some social media for one group, and another for others.

Member, it's just half a dozen elitist colleges that spawned the commie red rat bastardization that is infesting our societies... Numbers alone doesn't tell the story.
I also have the probably forlorn hope that some of the rash of these "walking away- I didn't leave the D party they left me" stories are genuine. If so, that suggests another reason not to cede any venue to the rats.

WATCH: Flashbacks the liberal media won't show. Since 2020 Biden has claimed he has a plan to "shut down the virus."

The reality: Dems' obsession with mandates, government control, and lockdowns over therapeutics clearly doesn’t work.
