President-elect Donald Trump resumed his sparring with the press Wednesday at his first post-election news conference -- where he tangled with a CNN journalist over the outlet's reporting on claims the Russians have compromising intel on him.

He attacked the reports as examples of so-called "fake news," and blasted BuzzFeed in particular (the only news outlet to publish the entire dossier) as a “failing pile of garbage.” However, CNN reporter Jim Acosta took issue with Trump’s words directed at both outlets, and called on Trump to let him ask a question.

“Since you’re attacking our news organization, can you give us a chance to ask a question?” he asked.

But Trump wasn’t having it.

“Not you, your news organization is terrible,” Trump replied, and turned to another reporter for a question.

But Acosta kept going, repeatedly shouting to try and get a question in.

“Can you give us a question? You are attacking us, can you give us a question Sir? Sir? Mr. President-elect,” Acosta shouted.

“Quiet. Quiet. She’s asking a question, don’t be rude, don’t be rude,” Trump scolded Acosta, while referring to another questioner.

When Acosta once again sought to ask a question, Trump responded: “No I’m not going to give you a question – you are fake news.”

“No Mr. President-elect, that is not appropriate,” Acosta responded, before giving up.

CNN later issued a statement on Twitter defending their reporting, and drawing a distinction between their reporting and that of BuzzFeed, which published the full document.

It's refreshing to see someone stand up to these media liars. Frankly, if I were Trump they'd be banned from any press conferences.

It was refreshing to see someone tell the media that they are no longer in control of the narrative! The backlash on social media has been epic.

President-elect Donald Trump held his first press conference since winning the November election on Wednesday at Trump Tower, and boy it did not disappoint. Trump bemoaned the lack of honest reporters in today's culture, particularly after a new report from BuzzFeed that suggested Russia had incriminating information on him. The piece was uncorroborated. It was rumored CNN also published the report, but Jake Tapper pushed back at that claim after the press conference.

Trump took out his frustration on the media in the room.

BuzzFeed, Trump said matter-of-factly at the presser, is "a failing pile of garbage," while also criticizing CNN.

"Since you're attacking us are you going to allow us a question?" CNN reporter Jim Acosta shouted.

“I’m not going to give you a question," he said. "You are fake news.”

The audience awarded Trump with applause.

Tapper said he can understand why Trump would be frustrated with the shoddy reporting of BuzzFeed, but lamented how he treated his coworker.

Would *I* Lie???
I was just WAITING for him to say "Get him out of here.. good bye, you're dismissed, no story for liars." I would have. It's my press conference, be nice, and don't lie about me, or F* off. "You're fired" "Tell CNN I don't want to see YOU here anymore." lolol.. then THEY have to get tell their boss Trump ird them. CNN reassigns him... I mean what else? and sends someone new.. same thing, fired.. I wan't an "honest" reporter. Continues to embarrass any MS media who runs bogus of unchecked BS about the POTUS. Propaganda? Not rewarded.

CNN had best watch out. So far President Elect Trump has been all about going by the letter of the law. That does not mean he has to fight nice or fair, just legal.

I<m sure banning them would be construed as not allowing the press.

better way.. allow them to all press conferences and tell them ahead of time..

"no questions from you..

you are there to.. report.. not contribute."

Just loved this...part hilarious, partly just desserts! I do wish he'd thrown the CNN scumbag out though.

It would be nice if the reporters seating was rearranged every month, so the "big guys" got to sit in front and then move to the back and then the middle rows. Let some of the newer, hungrier journalists actually get to ask questions which are more respectful to the Presidency.

Some of them just can't get over that they lost the battle and are losing the war - and are still treating the Pres Elect as the Campaigner.
