Trump: Fox's Napolitano asked me to pardon his friend, put him on Supreme Court
BY JOHN BOWDEN - 04/27/19 11:16 PM EDT

President Trump tweeted Saturday that Fox News analyst Andrew Napolitano met with him and urged him to nominate Napolitano to the Supreme Court as well as grant a pardon to one of Napolitano's friends.

Napolitano, a former superior court judge in New Jersey, works as a legal analyst for Fox News. In a pair of tweets Saturday evening following his campaign rally in Green Bay, Wis., the president accused the commentator of becoming "very hostile" after Trump supposedly turned him down for the nation's highest court.

"Thank you to brilliant and highly respected attorney Alan Dershowitz for destroying the very dumb legal argument of 'Judge' Andrew Napolitano," Trump wrote.

"Ever since Andrew came to my office to ask that I appoint him to the U.S. Supreme Court, and I said NO, he has been very hostile! Also asked for pardon for his friend. A good 'pal' of low ratings Shepard Smith," the president added, referring to Fox's chief news anchor, who has often been critical of the White House.

The White House did not immediately return a request for comment regarding when the conversation with Napolitano occurred or whom the Fox News commentator supposedly asked Trump to pardon.

Trump frequently showers praise on Fox News figures who are seen as allies of his administration, including Dershowitz, who has defended the president amid the now-concluded investigation into Russia's election interference and Trump's campaign.

I never thought much of the judge. If this account is true, I will stop thinking of him altogether.

I learn something new here everyday! ;)

Actually, I just read the info today myself (on several places).

I had thought he mentioned a wife once years ago but couldn't remember. I also thought there was a hidden slam in Trumps comment and figured he was hinting/outing Napolitano so I went looking to see if he was married. (everything was speculative with some info that mentions his "special friend" that died a few years back.)

"Special friend" always seem to have overtones of a relationship not to be mentioned.

Napolitano splits his time living in Manhattan and Newton, New Jersey, where he owns a farm that produces maple syrup.[38]

Napolitano's longtime friend James C. Sheil died on March 19, 2013.[39] In the Acknowledgements section of his book Suicide Pact: The Radical Expansion of Presidential Powers and the Lethal Threat to American Liberty, Napolitano states: "... my happy dreams turned dark last year when Jim Sheil, my alter ego to whose memory this book is dedicated, died suddenly on March 19th 2013, as we were working on this book. Jim and I shared much of our lives with each other. Among that which we shared was a love of the printed word. Yet our philosophies and politics were like oil and water."[40]

Napolitano has stated that he is not related to former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, whom he sometimes jokingly calls "Evil Cousin Janet".[41][42]

Napolitano is a vegetarian.[43]

I never knew that he was gay! Also Trump's tweet makes sense. Napolitano has been very critical of Trump for some time now and Trump's tweet totally makes sense now.

I guess I am not as naive as I used to be. I used to soak up Glenn Beck and Judge Napolitano and would have voted for them if they ran for office.

The Never Trumpers really opened my eyes and now I question everyone and everything they are telling us including Trump.

There agendas and subagendas and I now wait for actions based on what a.person said they were going to do.

My inclination is to believe the rims have gone stark facing mad and Trump is sent by God to help us. I am waiting for a few things to happen though like draining the swamp, building the wall and making America great again as opposed to being controlled opposition.

Pride comes before the fall.....Pride month ended.
Revelations, it's not just the name of a book.....it's a state of being, we are all living in. Makes for interesting times, eh.

Hmm. First thoughts were memories of all the rabbit holes he used to send the press down, to trick them into falling for some false narrative, and/or to keep the children out of his hair while he TCOB.

But, the threads interpretation seems the more likely, for some reason. That leads to second thought, which is uggh. I really do regret the tawdry and base level on which our political discourse now operates. Still I would be the first to argue it's a necessary evil, given the state of affairs.

Yeah. I saw the wiki one first, but since it can be altered, I went looking elsewhere. The question and answer has been put forth for several years in a lot of places. I wasn't expecting to find that info.
