Repub Trump/Anderson Cooper Interview 2-4-16 Townhall Type

Did anyone watch the CNN interview with Trump last night in a diner or restaurant?

I have to say I'm getting less impressed and slightly irritated with Mr. Trump.

People actually ask him one-on-one questions and just like he does with the MSM, he doesn't really answer them.

I understand his wanting to be "unpredictable" if he's the President, by not giving our foes or other countries a heads-up on what he is about to do to them, but this is an ELECTION Don!!! When people ask you for a couple of specifics, give them a couple of specifics!!!

And I really think he can STOP talking about how successful he is and how great his company is. I think all of America already knows this by now.

I don't know what happened to me last night but watching this interview, (and have you noticed... what ever group he's around they're always "great people...wonderful people.....reminds me of a car salesman), I was just getting irritated, exasperated with the man. And you could tell by the looks of some of the people in the restaurant, rolling their eyes and shaking their heads as he would avoid specifically answering some of the questions, they were irritated too.

Trump has done a lot of good being in this campaign, but he's got to get down to brass tacks!! There is no more time for the generalized "You're all wonderful, I am great because I get things done, we will make America great again" with a few zingers thrown in. He GOT everyone's attention and woke the country up in June through October of last year. Now I feel, (no, I NEED) to hear him giving out some specifics when the public is asking him questions or I'm staying home this November.

Here's the 25 minute interview with a few questions from the public.

I'll watch it later today when I'm awake lol For me, I refuse to vote for Cruz whom I believe is ineligible (NBC issue), and Rubio has always irritated me...like he's plastic, memorizing index cards...not a "real" person. I've not read anything favorable about Rubio to change my mind either. I read something yesterday that was worse than anything before: Marco Rubio Gay Homosexual Duplicity: http://www.phibetaiota.net/2016/01/wayne-madsen-marco-rubio-homosexual-update-with-photos/ Whether this article is true or not I do not know but IF any of it IS, it's disgusting to me and the LAST person we need as prez, IMHO YMMV

edit to add: I watched the video. I liked it. I enjoy seeing him relaxed and interacting. He's very personable to me. OTH, I don't think he directly answered the mans question on healthcare although I think maybe Trump may THINK he did (lol) but in a round about way. He needs to explain himself better there. I believe he has in mind what he's going to do with healthcare...shopping an open marketplace between states (kind of like shopping for car insurance) except I don't think where you live will/should affect your insurance rates like it does for auto insurance now. That's kind of what I perceived but I could be wrong. His mind seems to be onto the next subject as he's answering a question and he flows right into that subject...aka, high energy ;) He doesn't remind me of a car salesman (OP) but a successful businessman who wants to translate that experience into saving this country before it goes under thus, he plays up that experience to get his point across on what he can and will do, IMHO.

Well he couldn't answer that woman's question (a Trump supporter) on going to his site, saying she liked his platform but wanted more SPECIFICS and could he give her a couple of SPECIFICS.

He didn't answer the guys question on his concern, on how abrasive he is, doubting Trump would be 'safe' for his daughters to see in action.

He's GOT to be specific. His numbers are down today in the NH polls. He's got to have SOME specifics to questions.

Has he bother to research how Cruz and Rubio voted on a couple things to nail them with? Not really. He's relying on everybody else going after them on specifics. I sure hope he's researched stuff a Kasich and Christy, and Jeb that he can bring up more than Common Core.

I'm not part of the stupid populace. I want to see substance now. All my presentations to various friends and co-workers (not to mention everyone's here) will have been for naught if he doesn't STUDY the failings of the other candidates and bring them up, come up with a few SPECIFICS, and I just saw a clip of him last night ASKING to not let him down and vote for him. Exactly the same thing he did in Iowa and we know how well that worked out.

Be PROFESSIONAL DON!!! Know your s**t. And at least SOUND like you have some specifics. (I just feel in my gut the elites have just won unless Trump gets his act together).

We should force ourselves to listen to what the other candidates are saying, too. I have no idea how specific they are at this time.

Trump has raised good kids. This guy worrying about shielding his daughters from him is rather silly. Hard to believe that kids are really that sheltered in this day and age.

He has dropped specifics on the wall. We know what he's going to build it with, he will get the permits by putting it through as a military use, it will be financed by re-negotiating the trade deals, as well as possibly taxing remittances. He has mentioned other ways but was not specific about those.

With all the buildings, vehicles and planes he owns, he knows all too well how the insurance companies operate. He says we have options for a plan; what's wrong with keeping the options idea open instead of saying "I'm going to do this or that."?

As far as his drop in the NH polls, remember the article I posted a week or so ago, in which the ex-governor said Trump would end up with 20-25% of the vote and the rest would coalesce around one or two others. Maybe he knew what he was talking about?

Trump will have my support all the way to November but I'm not overly optimistic that he will be our next president.

I watched the video and also thought he did great. He has the broad outlines of most of his policies stated. There is no way to give specifics on some things until you get into them, are actually actively changing policies. He stated and it is absolutely true, you can't lay out a 15 point plan because depending on what happens with point 1 and 2, things may change to emphasis or details of point 7 or 8. Politicians who will give you exact details of how they are going to accomplish something either think they are God or are flat out lying.

As far as what kind of a role model he would be for the guy's daughters, hey - as president he will be responsible for keeping the man's daughters safe and providing an environment where they can succeed. If the man can't point at Trump's children as examples for his daughters he's looking for a nanny, not a president.

I am totally for Trump. No way on earth would I vote for Cruz nor Rubio.

That said, I'm so tired of him bashing. Why in the world can't he just stick to what HE will do without the sarcasm and name calling. I know he's not childish and silly but he sure appears that way.

Now today I hear that he's left NH and gone back to NY because of weather. What? All the other candidates stayed. Is this going to be another Idaho. C'mon Donald!

If you look at the weather map, there is quite a storm all the way up the coast. I haven't looked to see if any air ports are closed.

He said in a statement he plans to campaign in New Hampshire "on Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday."

He has a rally in South Carolina this evening at 7 pm E. Maybe with the bad weather, he didn't want to take a chance on missing a large scheduled rally by getting stuck in NY for a smaller town hall.

Neither here nor there.
Trump needs to quit focusing on the others and megan Kelley and focus on the economy, jobs, the immigrant/refuge/invader problem, etc.

I guess we all need to email his campaign and let him know what it is we want. And yes he needs to move on.

Maybe, instead of telling him what bothers you about his behavior, you should all sit back and pay attention to how the man handles a little stress. So far Megan Kelly infuriated him because she correctly quoted him and a minor snow storm has caused him to pack up and go home. As he gets more and more tired, his rally behavior becomes more and more like a spoiled child. Keep making excuses for the man...as that is exactly what he expects and demands. You are going to be busy with those excuses if he wins the White House because world leaders, both good and bad, are not going to care if he is tired or doesn't like to be challenged

Willow, I wish you would check your facts just once in a while.

According to news reports, he usually does go home after a rally. He has a lovely wife and a young son; if he can go home, why shouldn't he?

He took his copter to NH yesterday and came home last night. He would have been traveling in the snow storm this morning; N.H. predicted ranges from 3"-5" and 4"-7". He has come through really bad weather at least twice, when he was told it might be a better idea to stay home. BUT he went anyway because he had large rallies scheduled. Just like he has tonight

I know you really dislike Trump but I wish you would stop posting inaccurate stuff.

Thanks for the suggestion Packy. I just did exactly that. Why don't we all chime in??

Well if he's got ear tuned to his supporters then it's in our best interest to email him and say enough already, lets get to the real meat and bones of making America great again! You know start with jobs!

Agreeing with Mixin here, you need to get your facts straight or better yet go hand out on your anchor baby of choice threads.

If people want to criticize any candidate - then at least have the honesty to find some real thing to criticize. They have have some real stuff, find it!

I'll have to watch this in a while, I missed it or at least most of it. BTW I just read this:

Many of CRuz’s start up staff were former Romney staff.

ETA: And this:

New Reuters rolling poll out.

I just watched his full rally. It was excellent. All he said about the problems in Iowa is, "We had some problems there. Some big problems" Or something to that effect...LOL I think the crowd was happy he didn't talk about it. He also said he loves the way Iowa votes with the caucus's.

About 10,000 ppl there and a line of cars 4 miles long to get in. Usually when there is a YUGE overflow he holds a second rally but he never tells the ppl. in the audience about it, or they'd never leave.

Considering how toned down his speech was I imagine he got millions of emails to please, no more yelling or screaming. He didn't. For those that don't like swear words, he did say "hell" periodically. He had to vent somehow and this helps...LOL

Sunday he'll be in Plymouth, NH, at 1:00 pm. When's the superbowl? Considering how much he loves football, he wants to see it too.

After all the hysteria in the media about it and my reaction of shock, I was soooo relieved to hear him say that he did NOT say the F word but simply paused for them to think it. I guess that's bad enough but contrary to all the reporters "breaking news" about it, it didn't happen.

Proof that there is so little hidden dirt on Trump that they have to literally make s*** up. :-)

Watched the debate last night. It was super great. Trump owned it. He blew the lid off the numbers in all the polls and there's a bunch of them. Even the Blaze poll/ Glen must be having nightmares.
