transplanting cactus?

when I left AZ I brought some cactus back with me. A freind out the who works in the nursery biz said to cut it off and let the ends dry out for a couple of weeks and then replant it...that worked fine.

Now I want to transplant the stuff into something nicer-do I need to cut it and dry it again or just do it like a normal plant and pull it out of the pot for the new place?

Sat...I have transplanted half of Baja. Just dig it up or remove from pot and put it where you want. Home Depot has Cactus Soil in 40 lb bags if you feel the need for it. The only time I use the cut and dry method is when I am trying to get a start from a cactus. I even transplanted a cluster of 21 red barrels last year for a friend.
