I needed this...thank you. I lost my father in January at ninety years old. He talked more about VN and his faith in his last years than he ever did when he was younger. He was thirty nine when he went in 68 and a seasoned career soldier with two tours in Korea behind him but it still left it's mark on him. What hurt him the most was all the young men they lost. He also talked about the children and how they used them to kill the soldiers...he left a lot unsaid but I could read between the lines.
Your DH was blessed to have a wife faithfully doing her part for his salvation and I'm sure he knew it and loved you even more for it. That was a powerful gift on your part, to never give up.
