PREP Time to replace your power strips? (Probably is…see photo)

I was just going by what the heating and cooling electric guy said... and that was to replace the breaker once we had the new unit installed, which never happened. I was home when the brown out happened, and to say I was unhappy would be an understatement. Lost the CA unit, a computer, and a cordless phone, all on separate breakers.

"Lost the CA unit". can I assume you meant CAlifornia?

In regards to “single use”, most of the cheap (less than a few hundred $$$) surge suppression power strips, and even some of the expensive ones, tell you in the fine print that they are indeed, single use devices.

If they trip suppressing a surge, they should be replaced.

Even if they have a reset button, they have likely turned into nothing more than a power strip with little or no surge suppression capability and potential future problems serving as “just a power strip”.
