The Book tells of the apocalyptic future that's about to unfold. It also says that the "elites" that hide in bunkers/caves won't be immune. They might think they are going to be safe, but that's "their" fantasy.

Yeah, this time around when the Sun micro nova's and then the ensuing ice age, no one will be immune. There's definitely going to be a new heaven (solar system) and new earth.
The mandates really weren't truly enforced. The vaccine really wasn't that effective. Statistically the last pandemic really wasn't that lethal.
I was suggesting a hypothetical future event. One that had several hypothetical variables.
The rich truly don't know how stuff works. I think that will be their Achilles heel.

If it is really the end times as related in Revelation, the only thing that will save you is having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Modern medical treatment is likely why it wasn't that lethal. Another pandemic without the availability of medical intervention could be much more deadly. Penicillin has made the difference in survival to many diseases that before penicillin killed.
We're gonna need to agree to disagree on that premise.
Third world populations made it through similar to the most advanced nations.

I'm bettin on the fact that 30% of people are good, descent and smart enough to have some preps put back. Plus there's another 30% who are law enforcement, veterans and armed patriots who will stand and fight for what's right.
Then, I'm bettin that 30% are snowflakes. Their definition of SHTF is different than ours - like Starbucks is closed, OMG!! They will die quickly without their meds and drugs and lattes, are too stupid to know which bathroom to use and those girly-men will soon figure out it's impossible to run in heels. A good portion will kill each other.
That leaves a relatively small percentage that we really need to worry about. It only takes one bad apple but that is not new. Most of this shit has been happening for a long time and we never knew it.

Zuckerberg might be able to ride out just about anything in his Kauai bunker, but what is it he is preparing for? Kauai may have geographic separation but it doesn't seem a good choice for anything other than a moderately short term event, after which some semblance of normalcy returns. It is a small island for which most of the land is largely not readily usable in a "we're on our own now" way and it is heavily populated in the more habitable areas. My guess is most of their food and other necessities are imported rather than home grown.
In a long term, "nobody is coming to our rescue" scenario, his bunker not being a secret will quickly make it a target of a starving general population. I doubt it is only 5,000 sq. ft but if it is only sized for his family, on what basis will his security staff not in the bunker fight against a much larger mob when Zuckerberg didn't provide them with their own bunker? Maybe he is providing for them, but again on a long term basis what is his survival plan for his entourage? In a general collapse, his paper wealth will disappear and even if he has a hoard of gold, it holds no value until such point as an economy with excess goods beyond survival barter develops. Starving people aren't going to trade what little food they have for gold. What would he be able to offer his security team & other staff to keep them subservient to him when his former wealth holds little value in a collapsed world? Especially if they are in a position to just take what he has.
In a long term collapse, I think the elite will quickly realize they no longer are special. The mega rich possibly billionaire guy with one of his estates on the side of the mountain in my hamlet isn't who I'd want to align with over the farmer across the way or the expert hunter/fisherman/trapper next door, or the jack of all trades across the road.

The fastest-growing black hole ever recorded — increasing the equivalent of one sun every day — has been discovered by researchers at the Australian National University (ANU).
The black hole's mass is roughly 17 billion times that of our solar system's Sun, and exists within the brightest currently known thing being continually powered in the universe.
It exists in a quasar — a galaxy that has a supermassive black hole at its centre that actively adds material to itself.
Lead author and ANU associate professor, Christian Wolf, said the black hole was indeed creating matter from its environment, and consuming a lot to do so.
"This black hole eats as much mass in a single day as there is in our entire solar system – the Sun and all the planets combined," he said.
"The accretion disk [the holding pattern for all the material waiting to be devoured] is so massive and dense and hot that it starts glowing brightly, and that's the light that we see.
"It's a lot of light that comes out of that accretion disk, about 500 trillion times the amount of light that our Sun emits, or about 20,000 times the amount of light that our entire Milky Way galaxy – with all its billions of stars – emits."
Dr Wolf said the quasar's accretion disk was incredibly big, being seven light-years in diameter — 1.5 times the distance from our solar system to the next star in the sky, Alpha Centauri.
"It's very far away, the light has been travelling for 12 billion years to reach us, so evidently it has to be very luminous for us to see it from here," he said.
"And indeed, it's the most luminous object that we now know in the universe.
"All this light comes from the accretion disk, which is a giant storm cell — a storm cell with seven light years of diameter, and with material on the outside that moves at wind speeds of a few thousand kilometres per second."

Gordon Michael Scallion and a few other people predicted major earth changes and even started putting out maps on what the future united states and the world would look like.NOTE that Joe Rogan refused to interview Ben from SuspiciousObservers because he thought his ideas were woo... which is really rich if you ask me when considering who he has interviewed in the past. I heard that interview. The person they brought in for advice (I don't recall who it was) told them gently that the best way was to befriend their security people and make it worth their while to let the owners of the bunkers and their families stay in charge. He talked about the older systems of family retainers who continued to protect their employers out of a sense of loyalty, respect, and even friendship.
He didn't know for sure, but he got the impression the whole idea terrified and even repulsed these guys, who went right back to trying to figure out how to enforce their will. If that is the case, the ones that do that are likely to find themselves dead (along with their families, except maybe a pretty wife or daughter) within a week or three. Replaced by the former head of security now, Mr. Bossman, and a potential Warlord.
Even real feudalism has rules; those who refuse to play by them tend not to last long. Most successful tyrants and dictators know this.
