CORONA The UPSIDE of this pandemic

While this current pandemic is horrible there is an UPSIDE of this event. Throughout human history DISEASE has killed more people than all the bullets and bombs ever fired or dropped. Even now we're seeing a light at the end of the tunnel despite everything. We're finding ways to prevent, diagnose and treat it. Now imagine the coming apocalyptic pandemic as described in the end times when there won't be anyway to treat people and a 1/3 of the world will die. If this is not a wake up call to get our fecal material together and be properly warned and prepared for future events I don't know what is.

There will be more pandemics. They will probably come out of China....the last several outbreaks have. We might as well get prepared even more than we might think is necessary.

Upside? Creative destruction on steroids! This bloated, sclerotic, insider trading, corrupt globalized financialized system should have been gone long ago. Time for some NEW APPROACHES, NEW PEOPLE and REAL PROGRESS.

Whatever number of people learn to be better prepared, out of debt, ready to change their lifestyle and to stay aware of current events from sources other than MSM will fare better in the next event.

My guess is most people will not learn. I will take whatever improvement we get.

True Doz, and it's unmasked a lot of bullshit that has been hidden behind the curtains. I hope this has opened a lot of eyes. And for Preppers it's more than justified our lifestyle and efforts. I know for my adult children it's totally opened their eyes to the crazy stuff that Mom and Pop have done their entire lives. It's really solidified in concrete the need for this prepping lifestyle. This whole Covid thing has really hammered home the weakness of our prevalent systems in the world and in this country as well as dire the need to be ahead of the curve. You simply can't trust anyone else to take care of you.....especially the government. I consider this a MAJOR PLUS.

Early on, I pegged it as a training exercise...intentional or not, I dunno.

A large portion of the population now has a new perspective on things.

Whenever the next bug gets loose, there will be less confusion in the response.

I hope it doesn't go over the top like this one did.

I guess GA didn't get the memo, they have been ongoing throughout. There may be a day here or there when I don't see any but give it a day or two and they are back.

Some people have had their wake up call and will take action. Some people are also resisting (too many complying tamely). Lots of discourse but I think to no point as people on both sides of politics have made up their minds. Again some people woke up and will be better prepared.

Yep....a lot of focused research going into epidemiology right now. Bringing all of the disciplines in....all hands on deck. Once the tangles get sorted out, data compiled, the lab rats, industry R&D, and practicing boots-on-the-ground start to swap their findings, should be some valuable leaps.

We were able to break a few bad habits and now spend less than ever. So there was a good aspect from this.
