Cap 13
After the weekend I continued talking to Vânia and the entire trail group and I must confess that this made me greatly expand my point of view, to recognize my lack of knowledge about physical activities, sports, how I communicate with nature and this entire universe. fitness, natural and even a bit radical.
And when I say expanding my point of view I mean I got a lecture lmao.
Apparently Marcos, one of the "leaders" of the group, has a degree in journalism and physical education, with his work being focused on researching and disseminating the benefits of physical activity in nature. I even joined his blog on Instagram and it's really cool, he also has published books, articles, it's a very complex subject that I didn't imagine would be as good as it is. (Not being relevant to this part of my line of thought, but I can't help but mention it since talking about him reminds me of how Vânia introduced us and paraphrasing "That's Marcos, don't try to discuss our activities with him, he's a of those responsible for the group and his studies make him very annoying most of the time. Oh, don't forget not to disturb him while he has the camera as it offends his blogging side." You can understand why I'm not really Vânia's FRIEND, right? , she is most of the time a self-centered bitch.)
Going back to what Marcos taught me, apparently, these activities are practiced outdoors and/or in nature, using components of this location, such as mountains, rivers, trees, irregular terrain and which may even depend on weather conditions to take place. They are called adventure sports or extreme sports, they are activities that involve a certain calculated risk, and involve elements such as speed and height, with the purpose of awakening distinct and intense sensations.
Its biggest features are:
•They help increase mental and emotional conditioning. Because they require a certain physical preparation and emotional aptitude from their practitioners, these sports end up promoting such skills during practice;
•They promote direct contact and connection with nature. Because they depend on their elements and a greater understanding of their natural factors to happen;
•It allows you to leave your comfort zone and challenge yourself, which brings a feeling of confidence and the ability to face new challenges at any time.
In addition to this text about what its characteristics and benefits are, he also talked to me for a long time about safety because, as the name suggests, extreme sports are dangerous.
During this time of conversation, another thing I discovered besides extreme sports is the reason the group got together to go to the forest near my house, apparently it is much bigger than I expected, there are still a few good kilometers to go after what we stopped having there is even a river running through it and after the forest there is a hill that is also covered in forest. After the hill there is still a little more forest and then civilization begins again.
I discovered this because they asked me to go canoeing, which I haven't answered yet because it was never something I thought about and I'm afraid of wild animals, I mean, I'm in a small canoe and I could encounter a crocodile, an alligator or a snake or any other dangerous animal that may appear and be in the river. So tell me, O Lord God Almighty, how I will deal with the appearance of any of these animals while in a canoe.
I have a feeling I'll have lots of adventures in the future lol.
Ai ai ai, these group activities were so interesting that I didn't even have time to talk about what I discovered I'm planning to do over the weekend to improve my little house. Well next time I'll have to tell you everything.
