Disaster Cat
I saw this video and it was so wonderfully fun and uplifting I thought a thread on the last day of Carnival (Pancake Tuesday) here would be fun.
These floats and groups are amazing, everything from Starwars to the Lord of Sipan is celebrated.
Some of my personal votes were for:
1. Most original - The Star Wars with Dancing Jedis and Darth Vardor
2. Most spectacular - the Conquistadors and Native Americans (including Colombus and his ships; real Native probably Amazonian dancers etc)
3. Best use of Archeology (and runner up for spectacular) The Lord of Sipan
4. Most powerful message (but still amazingly fun) All sorts of comic book, Disney, and other movie figures like Harry Potter (all fantasy) in Amazing costumes with a giant movie screen that a large number of people in regular clothing were sitting in pews in front of waving their hands in worship and prayer.
I'm sure everyone will have other personal "awards" also please feel free to add to this thread if you have videos or comments about New Orleans, Germany or other Carnivals around the world.
A nice break from all the scary news and a good excuse to make pancakes!
Run time about 14 minutes
