Many health communities view white rice as an unhealthy option.
"It’s highly processed and missing its hull (the hard protective coating), bran (outer layer) and germ (nutrient-rich core). Meanwhile, brown rice only has the hull removed.
For this reason, white rice lacks many vitamins and minerals that are present in brown rice.
However, there are some instances where white rice is a better option than brown rice.

I don't think its ever healthy but useful in some instances.
I stopped eating anything white years ago, including potatoes, too much starch. The consequences of that and other foods is I have no chronic heath issues and take no medications, I get a check up every 6-8 months at the VA and still no chronic health issues and no meds. I have, all of my adult life, taken a lot of vitamin supplements by the hands full. I'm 73.
I do, however, eat potatoes from time to time but not a regular part of my diet. Although brown rice does have some nutrition it does not keep well long term, best for me is just don't eat any of it. I have quinoa stored, I like it, but I never think about cooking it.
I do struggle with my weight, about 25 over what I should be right now. Eating sweets does not work well for me, its best for me not to eat it at all, or I'd eat the whole box or package, even in one sitting, just aimlessly shoving it in my mouth.
