This is the second installment of "Campy Sci-Fi" movies

It's sci-fi movie time on TB2K. Here are a variety of movies to help kick back from the real world if only for a few hours.
I'm putting each in a separate post. That should make it easier to comment, discuss, or like a specific choice.
If you watch or download a movie, please comment or like to guide future selections.
Click the "movies" tag at the top to see a list of all previous movie threads.
Click on individual movie posters to see them full size.
The movie trailers are located in post #7.

Enjoy the Show!

The first movie is When Worlds Collide. This 1951 sci-fi thriller stars Richard Derr, Barbara Rush, and Peter Hansen. This is a personal favorite.

An astronomer discovers an object that has just entered the solar system. His calculations show him it's headed straight for Earth. The only problem's convincing the rest of the world. The crisis brings out the best and worst in humanity.

- As a new star and planet hurtle toward a doomed Earth, a small group frantically work to complete the rocket which will take them to their new home.

The third movie is Time Bandits. This 1981 fantasy comedy stars John Cleese, Sean Connery, and Shelly Duval.

- A young boy accidentally joins a band of time traveling dwarves, as they jump from era to era looking for treasure to steal.

A young boy's wardrobe contains a time hole. Through this hole an assortment of little people (i.e. dwarfs) come while escaping from their master, the Supreme Being. They take Kevin with them on their adventures through time from Napoleonic times to the Middle Ages to the early 1900s, to the time of Legends and the Fortress of Ultimate Darkness where they confront Evil Genius.

Absolutely stupendous! Thanks 1911. I love when you do movies like this. Reminds me of Saturday Afternoon Creature Feature with Dr. Paul Bearer. ROFL!!

Just watched When Worlds Collide. How odd that I had just considered reading both of my books, "When...' and "After..." just a week or so ago. I decided to wait and now I got to watch the movie. They did a good job with a story that would have been far too long had they followed the book exactly. Thanks ever so much for posting this! I'll probably watch a couple more of these that Idon't have among my own DVDs.

It must take time to hunt down all these movies....it is much appreciated and I'm so glad I finally figured out how to get them to play on my computer when they are not You Tube.

You might like these: Universal Studios monsters (more universal studios monsters)
These are awesome! When I was a kid, two of the Kansas City stations would show movies like this late on Friday evenings after the 10:00 news. Friday Fright Night on KCTV5 and Creature Feature with Crematia Mortem on KSHB. My cousins and I would always stay up late to watch them. Now I get to relive part of my childhood.

Thank you for the link!
