There are 6 movies this week.
I recommend watching or saving these sooner rather than later.
Except for Conspiracy Theory, all of the movies this week are smaller, less than 1 GB in size.

This thread on MAIN has the info about the movies and is the place for discussion about them, as before.
However, all of the movie and download links are located in a separate,
members-only, thread in the MEDIA CENTER at this link:

----------->>> Link to the thread containing the actual movie links <<<-----------

This should help protect the source of the movies and keep them available longer.

If you watch or download a movie, please comment or like to guide future selections.
Click the "movies" tag at top to see a list of previous movie threads.

Movie trailers (from youtube) can be found in post #8 of this thread.
Click the "movies" tag at the top of this thread to see a list of all movies posted in the past.

Enjoy the Show!

The first movie is V for Vendetta. This 2005 dystopian adventure stars Hugo Weaving, Natalie Portman, Stephen Fry, and John Hurt. This movie is a repeat, but it is a good film for the board and there are no subtitles this time.

"Remember, remember the fifth of November, the Gunpowder Treason and Plot. I know of no reason why the Gunpowder Treason should ever be forgot."

- In a future British tyranny, a shadowy freedom fighter, known only by the alias of "V", plots to overthrow it with the help of a young woman.

The second movie is Gravity. This 2013 space adventure stars Sandra Bullock, George Clooney, and Ed Harris.

- Two astronauts work together to survive after an accident leaves them stranded in space.

Dr. Ryan Stone is a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalski in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone - tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness.

The fourth movie is The Grapes of Wrath. This 1940 John Ford classic is based upon the Steinbeck novel about desperate share-croppers from Oklahoma going to California in search of work and life during the 1930's Depression. It has big stars of the era including a young Henry Fonda, Jane Darwell, and John Carradine. This book is worth reading and the movie is good.

- The Joad clan is looking for a better life in California. After their drought-ridden farm is seized by the bank, the family loads up a truck and heads West. On the road, beset by hardships, the Joads meet dozens of other families making the same trek and holding onto the same dream. Once in California, however, the Joads soon realize that the promised land isn't quite what they hoped.

The fifth movie is Real Genius. This 1985 sci-fi comedy stars Val Kilmer and Gabriel Jarret. This is a funny, geeky college film that could only have been made in the 1980's. The description below doesn't do the movie justice. It's worth watching, just have plenty of popcorn... :xpnd:

Mitch Taylor is one of the youngest students ever accepted to a university known for its programs for geniuses. He partners up with his roommate, science club legend Chris Knight, on a project to develop a high-powered laser. Together with their hyperkinetic friends, they employ their intellects in the pursuit of bigger blasts, practical jokes, and a deeper understanding of what real genius means. When they find out that their professor intends to turn their work over to the military for use as a weapon, they decide to get even.

A modern day fairy tale which tells the story of Edward, a man created by an inventor who died before finishing him and left him with scissors where he should have hands. One day when the local Avon representative calls at the historic mansion where he has been living alone, she takes him home to stay with her family. He has to adapt to the new life and environment. Soon he shows a talent in cutting hair and hedges and wins every body's heart. But life isn't always so sweet.

1911User, thanks as usual. I went back in history and downloaded "The Gods Must Be Crazy," which was still active on download. I go back sometimes and the links are dead, and then I go back a week or so later and they are live. :jstr:
Anyway, I saw it back in 1980 in a movie theater and loved it. It is one of the most laugh out loud movies, besides the Pink Panther Series, I have seen in my life. I also downloaded all 4 Shrek movies last week and binge watched them. Again, laugh out funny in many spots. Now that I am focused on such things I saw where they/Disney was pushing the gay agenda even in Shrek. The bar tender was, well he/she looked like a guy in a dress, talking low and punching out people. Like I said, the first time I saw them back in 2005? with the nephews and nieces in a movie theater I never even noticed.

I have now downloaded over 60 movies from you. I do have to watch my 30 GB limit, but unless it is some hog like the Godfather series, which ended up with nearly 10 GB for all three of them total. Ouch.

I may downloaded conspiracy theory which I also saw, but I may wait till next week.

If anybody wants to try, The Gods Must Be Crazy is still up, at least it was last night anyway.

I just finished watching Conspiracy Theory. I thought I'd seen it before but I had it confused with Bird on a Wire (Mel Gibson, Goldie Hawn). This is a crazy film and any conspiracy theorist would approve.
