It's movie time on TB2K again. Here are a variety of movies to help kick back from the real world if only for a few hours.
I'm putting each in a separate post. That should make it easier to comment, discuss, or like a specific choice.
If you watch or download a movie, please comment or like it to guide future selections.
Click the "movies" tag at top to see a list of previous movie threads.

The movie trailers are located in post #8.

Enjoy the Show!

The first movie is They Live. This 1988 John Carpenter Sci-Fi (maybe :)) classic stars Roddy Piper, Keith David, Peter Jason, and Meg Foster. This has been on my search list for a long time. Watch or download soon. John Carpenter movies are protected. This will be pulled as soon as discovered. There are other movies from The Master (John Carpenter) I'd like to post, but I can't find them. This one is a fluke, enjoy it.

- A drifter discovers a pair of sunglasses that allow him to wake up to the fact that aliens have taken over the Earth.

The second movie is Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens. This 2015 film continues the Star Wars saga after a 10 year theater hiatus. It stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher. I enjoyed this film.

- As a new threat to the galaxy rises, Rey, a desert scavenger, and Finn, an ex-stormtrooper, must join Han Solo and Chewbacca to search for the one hope of restoring peace.

- 30 years after the defeat of Darth Vader and the Empire, Rey, a scavenger from the planet Jakku, finds a BB-8 droid that knows the whereabouts of the long lost Luke Skywalker. Rey, as well as a rogue stormtrooper and two smugglers, are thrown into the middle of a battle between the Resistance and the daunting legions of the First Order.

The third move is Duel. This 1971 thriller stars Dennis Weaver.

Steven Speilberg originally made this as an ABC TV movie of the week in 1971. Due to the popularity, it was made into a theatrical movie by shooting additional footage and extending it to 90 minutes compared to the original 70 minutes. Both versions are below.

The 90 minute theater version has a small box in the upper corner (looney toons - that's all folks screen) for the entire movie. It's not that noticeable while watching, but the movie does start with a LOUD Looney-Tunes intro that lasts a few seconds.

- While traveling through the desert for an appointment with a client, a businessman from California passes an old tanker truck driving slowly. The psychotic truck driver is offended and takes chase along the empty highway terrorizing him.

The fifth movie is Valley Girl. This 1983 romantic comedy stars Nicholas Cage, Deborah Foreman, and Elizabeth Daily.

- Julie, a girl from the valley, meets Randy, a punk from the city. They are from different worlds and find love. Somehow they need to stay together in spite of her trendy, shallow friends.

The sixth movie is The Incredible Mr. Limpet. This 1964 partly-animated comedy stars Don Knotts, Carole Cook, and Jack Weston.

Meek and mild mannered bookkeeper Henry Limpet has few passions in life. It's mid-1941 and he would love to join the Navy but has been rated 4F. His friend George Stickle is in the Navy and lays it on pretty thick. If Henry could have one thing it would be to become a fish. While on a visit to Coney Island, Henry falls into the water and miraculously gets his wish. Now a fish, he makes friends, Ladyfish and Crusty the hermit crab and loves his new life. He also uses his abilities to help the US Navy locate and sink Nazi U-Boats, forcing the Germans to create a new weapon to deal with the Allies secret weapon.

Incredible Mr. Limpet!!!! I loved this movie as a kid. Was talking about it a few weeks ago with my brother. Thank you for the link!

I loved Duel as a youth. But when I got older, I realized that Dennis Weaver’s character was a liberal pussy. Had he carried a gun, a single round into the truck’s radiator would have ended the chase. Great movie, but the guy was a moron.

Always looking for details I may have missed.
Some great choices! Believe it or not, I've never watched They Live but have heard a lot about the movie over the years so it's time to see the original. Thanks for your work, this is a great addition to this site!

That is true about almost any movie's lead character isn't it? Or most novels' lead characters. Many times I have quit reading a book just because the lead character was so stupid.

I was wondering where the movies were this week. What a neat selection this week! All kinds of variety, downloading them all.

Thanks again, minister of culture and enlightenment!

They Live, just watched that a few weeks ago.
A good movie to rotate and watch.

Same here, never a fan of Don Knotts.

Thanks 1911user.
