There are 6 movies this week.
I recommend watching or saving these sooner rather than later.

This thread on MAIN has the info about the movies and is the place for discussion about them.
However, all of the movie and download links are located in a separate,
members-only, thread in the MEDIA CENTER at this link:

----------->>> Link to the thread containing the actual movie links (click this) <<<-----------

This should help protect the source of the movies and keep them available longer.

Click the "movies" tag at top to see a list of previous movie threads.

Movie trailers (from youtube) can be found in post #8 of this thread.

Enjoy the Show!

The first movie is The Towering Inferno. This 1974 disaster film stars Paul Newman, Steve McQueen, William Holden, Fay Dunaway, Fred Astaire, Susan Blakely, and Richard Chamberlain. This is a large film (3.1 GB) and may not be watchable on slower internet connections without downloading it first. Normally, the one you can watch at the site is smaller, but not this time. There is one file and it is larger than normal.

- At the opening party of a colossal, but poorly constructed, office building, a massive fire breaks out that threatens to destroy the tower and everyone in it.

The premiere party for the world's tallest skyscraper catches fire due to poor wiring. A determined fire chief and an honorable architect fight the fire from the outside and the inside respectively. Meanwhile, the fire engulfs floor by floor of the skyscraper, while the owner of the building struggles to find safety for the trapped party.

The second movie is A Few Good Men. This 1992 military drama stars Tom Cruise, Jack Nicholson, Demi Moore, Kevin Bacon, and Kiefer Sutherland.

- Military lawyer Lieutenant Daniel Kaffee defends Marines accused of murder. They contend they were acting under orders.

Subpar Guantanomo Bay marine PFC William Santiago mysteriously died after his platoon mates Lance Corporal Harold Dawson and PFC Landon Downy give him a "code red." The two are charged with his murder and Liutentent Daniel Kaffee is assigned lead defense counsel on the case. Assisting Kaffe on the case are Liutentent Sam Weinberg and Liutentent Commander Joanne Galloway. On the opposing side are Col. Nathan Jessup, a harsh marine with something to hide, and Lt. Johnothan Kendrick, Santiago's strict and suspicious platoon commander. the movie follows the struggle for Kaffee, Golloway, and Weinberg to prove their client's innocence against the prosecution.

The third movie is From Paris with Love. This 2010 action film stars John Travolta, Johnathon Rhys Meyer, Kasia Smutniak, and Richard Durden. From Paris with Love sounds like a romantic movie from the 1950's but it's not. This is a hardcore action film and you don't know what is coming next. This is a personal favorite movie and John Travolta is like you haven't seen him before.

- In Paris, a young employee in the office of the US Ambassador hooks up with an American spy looking to stop a terrorist attack in the city.

Aspiring to become a CIA operative, the personal aide to the U.S. ambassador in France, James Reese, is summoned to pick up agent Charlie Wax: his new partner. Against the backdrop of a dangerous and undisclosed mission in the bustling Parisian metropolis, the death toll will start to rise, as Charlie prefers to shoot first and ask questions later. Now, in this adrenaline-charged roller-coaster, the stakes are high, and the enemy is everywhere.

The fourth movie is 28 Days Later. This 2002 zombie thriller is a repeat, but it is higher quality with no subtitles this time. Like the towering inferno, it is another large film (3.0 GB) both to watch or download this week.

- Four weeks after a mysterious, incurable virus spreads throughout the UK, a handful of survivors try to find sanctuary.

When a group of animal rights activists release a chimpanzee infected with a virulent, genetically engineered plague from a research facility in Cambridge, the terrible virus escapes into the population. Devastating, and highly transmittable, it's only a matter of seconds before the uncontrollable pathogen locks those infected into a permanent state of murderous rage. As a result, within 28 short days, the terrible virus has overrun the entire country, and a handful of survivors entirely cut off from any information, begin their attempts to salvage a future, unbeknownst to them that the deadly virus is not the only thing that threatens them.

The fifth movie is 28 Weeks Later. This 2007 zombie thriller is the sequel to 28 days later (above). This is another larger file (1.9 GB) either to watch or download.

The film starts six months after the Rage virus has spread throughout the city of London. The United States Army has restored order and is repopulating the quarantined city, when a carrier of the Rage virus enters London and unknowingly re-ignites the spread of the deadly infection, wreaking havoc on the entire population.

The sixth movie is The Taking of Pelham 123. This 1974 crime thriller stars Walter Mathau, Robert Shaw, and Martin Balsam. This movie captures the look and feel of early 1970s New York City. This is a good cops-n-robbers story.

Pelham 123, a subway train, becomes the focal point of the most audacious and unusual terrorist attack ever seen. Four gunmen seize the train and hold its passengers and conductor hostage, demanding a hefty ransom or they will begin executing hostages. A veteran NY transit policeman leads negotiations with the hijackers to prevent any killing, but amid the showdown a question nags at authrorities - with the gunmen and their hostages in a tunnel surrounded by police on all sides, how can they possibly escape?

Good variety. A few I wasn't aware of. Only was familiar with a remake that wasn't very good.
It's a different mix this week with the 2 zombie movies. I watched Pelham 123 last night. It's dated but a good movie.
The star this week is From Paris with Love. I haven't had it available to post before, but discovered it several years ago. It's a wild ride of an action movie.

Yow. I’m old enough to have seen this one in the theater - though Alaska, as usual back then, was a few months behind the rest of the US in seeing it (even TV shows that were often advertised were then clarified with the old announcement “Not Available in This (Alaska) Time Zone) :)

Good selections as always, 1911, and much appreciated :).

:applaud: Great selections (as usual!). Going to get everything but A Few Good Men as we already have that one.

This is a great 70's crime thriller.

Great pacing and plot development.

One of Walter Matthau's better roles.

Hey minister of culture and enlightenment,
In light of showing the Towering inferno; is it possible you could find the movie Earthquake? That's a great disaster movie too.

The Towering inferno and Posedion adventure defined disaster movies for decades.
Don't forget the other massive disaster movie in 1974 - Earthquake. If I remember correctly it came out first, and was heavily promoted.

Side note - the Towering Inferno was based on 2 different disaster books The Towerr and The Glass Inferno. I actually had both paperrbacks way back then.
