It's movie time on TB2K again. Here are a variety of movies to help kick back from the real world if only for a few hours.
I'm putting each in a separate post. That should make it easier to comment, discuss, or like a specific choice.
The movie mix comes from youtube and archive.org. I doubt that will change in the future.
Click on an individual movie poster if you would like to see it full size.
Click the "movies" tag at top to see a list of previous movie threads.
The movie trailers are located in post #6.

Enjoy the Show!

Considering current news, this link to Steven King's The Stand might still be of interest: PLAY - TB2K Movies - Steven King's THE STAND (1994) - DAMNATION ALLEY (1977) - THE DAY AFTER (1983) and others
Again, I tried to find Contagion from 2011, but no luck. It's a good, accurate, kind of scary film about China Flu.

The first movie this week is The Professionals. I've been looking for a high quality version of this 1966 western/adventure film for several months and finally found it last night. Only personal favorites get that kind of research time and this is a good one. This South of the border adventure is set in early 1900's Mexico. The big stars were Burt Lancaster, Lee Marvin, Robert Ryan, Woody Strode, Jack Palance, Ralph Bellamy, and Claudia Cardinale. Most of them were WW2 vets and most did their own stunts in the film.

A wealthy Texas oilman hires four professional soldiers, each with their own special skills, to retrieve his kidnapped wife from Raza, a Mexican revolutionary and bandit who is demanding $100,000 for her return. Two of the men know Raza from their own days fighting with Pancho Villa during the Mexican revolutionary war.

- An arrogant Texas millionaire hires four adventurers to rescue his kidnapped wife from a notorious Mexican bandit

The second film is Killer Klowns from Outer Space. This 1988 sci-fi comedy is not to be taken seriously, but it is a fun movie. Just kick back and enjoy the show.

When a small town is invaded by aliens from outer space who are capturing and killing the townspeople, no one takes them seriously. Why? The aliens all look like circus clowns, use weapons that look clown like, and all have painted on smiles. Only a few of the young people in the town realize the danger and of course no one believes them. Armed with an ice cream truck they try and rescue their friends.

- Aliens who look like clowns come from outer space and terrorize a small town.

The third film is The Last Scout. This B space film was released in 2017. There is some coarse language and a few intense scenes. It also has english subtitles and a small logo at the top that can't be turned off. In spite of that, it's a decent indie space film with some imagination and surprises.

In the year 2065, with Earth rendered uninhabitable by war, humanity's remaining survivors send a fleet of ships to different points in the galaxy in the hope of finding a new world. After seven years of travel and long since out of communication range, the crew of The Pegasus are nearing their destination when they encounter a derelict ship. As tensions on board rise and they struggle to complete their mission they soon realize that they are not alone and must fight for their survival - and the survival of the human race.

- After the earth is destroyed by war, a scout team of astronauts searches the universe for an inhabitable place to save the human race.

The fourth film is The Bravados. This 1958 western stars Gregory Peck and Joan Collins.

Jim Douglass (Gregory Peck) has been tracking four men who he believes killed his wife six months ago. He arrives in a small town where he learns the men he's been tracking are set to be hanged. They escape and Douglas leads a posse after the men. They commit further crimes, murdering and raping. Douglas doggedly pursues the men across the desert and into Mexico.

The fifth film is The Maltese Falcon. This 1941 John Huston classic star Humphrey Bogart and Mary Astor.

In this noir classic, detective Sam Spade (Humphrey Bogart) gets more than he bargained for when he takes a case brought to him by a beautiful but secretive woman (Mary Astor). As soon as Miss Wonderly shows up, trouble follows as Sam's partner is murdered and Sam is accosted by a man (Peter Lorre) demanding he locate a valuable statuette. Sam, entangled in a dangerous web of crime and intrigue, soon realizes he must find the one thing they all seem to want: the bejeweled Maltese falcon.

- A private detective takes on a case that involves him with three eccentric criminals, a gorgeous liar, and their quest for a priceless statuette.

Have any of you ever seen the original "We're No Angels"?

It had Bogie and an all star cast and is the funniest version I've ever seen! Black and White of course, and the remakes all stunk. Caught it on late night TV back in the years I still had cable and could not believe it.
