First up is an Alfaman-mentioned movie. It's in 720p HD, widescreen, and the original black and white.

The Last Man on Earth is a 1964 movie with Vincent Price. It was the first movie based on the 1954 sci-fi horror novel I am Legend by Richard Matheson.
It was later made into The Omega Man (Charlton Heston, 1971) and I am Legend (Will Smith, 2007).

When a disease turns all of humanity into the living dead, the last man on earth becomes a reluctant vampire hunter.

Second up is All Quiet on the Western Front. This is a 1979 remake of the original classic from 1930. It's also in 720p HD and widescreen.
The big star is Richard Thomas (of johnboy walton fame) along with Ernest Borgnine, Donald Pleasence, and Patricia Neal.

A young soldier faces profound disillusionment in the soul-destroying horror of World War I.

Thank you, 1911user! I have seen The Last Man on Earth. It's very good. It's nice to have a way to see it for free. I have not seen All Quiet on the Western Front - have read the book. Thanks again! Dennis is right - you pick great films.

My popcorn is ready. I'm going to watch The Last Man on Earth. It's been a long time since I've seen it. A few minutes into it reminds me how bleak it would be. He's already been alone for a few years.

I honestly think Vincent Price was a savant and far ahead of his time. His performance in the last man on earth was outstanding. It even makes the omega man look lame in comparison. A lot of it goes back to the times. In radio all folks had was your voice. Before that it was all theater and all that centered on a performance amongst a small group of people.

With technology and holotheater on the horizon at some point soon, I think things could go full circle and I ask myself, who could be the next Vincent Price.

THANK YOU! Love the performance Vincent Price gave in this film.
Very stark, bleak world he inhabits in the film. A true theatrical masterpiece.
And the bonus, All quiet on the western front, too. Good remake.

After seeing the last man on earth, another great film in that genre is Carnival of Souls from 1962. I hate horror films as they are today, but tonights showing and Carnival of Souls are really enjoyable films.

Ask and you shall receive. It's good quality at 720p HD and the original black and white. It's now a triple-feature billing and a long night at the drive-in.

Carnival Of Souls (1962)

After a traumatic accident, a woman becomes drawn to a mysterious abandoned carnival.

Pouting coz I missed movie night! Having the TV off for past few years has made these shows actually fun to "watch with" y'all..! Although whoever keeps nodding off and snoring back there really needs some no-doze : )

Oh well, better luck next week, maybe. Have fun.

Dementia 13 is another great one from that era, made in 1963. Very suspenseful atmosphere in that one.
