It's movie time on TB2K again. Here are a variety of movies to help kick back from the real world if only for a few hours.
I'm putting each in a separate post. That should make it easier to comment, discuss, or like a specific choice.
If you watch or download a movie, please comment or like it to guide future selections.
The movie mix comes from youtube and archive.org. That will continue for the future.

The first movie is Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. This 2001 adventure film is the first in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I should note that I don't have links for the 2nd or 3rd LOTR, yet. This version of LOTR is the one originally shown in theaters and on the first release of the DVD/bluray so it is only 3 hours long :)

- A meek Hobbit from the Shire and eight companions set out on a journey to destroy the powerful One Ring and save Middle-earth from the Dark Lord Sauron.

An ancient Ring thought lost for centuries has been found, and through a strange twist of fate has been given to a small Hobbit named Frodo. When the wizard Gandalf discovers the ring is in fact the One Ring of the Dark Lord Sauron, Frodo must make an epic quest to Mount Doom in order to destroy it. However, he does not go alone. He is joined by Gandalf, Legolas the elf, Gimli the Dwarf, Aragorn, Boromir, and his three Hobbit friends Merry, Pippin, and Samwise. Through mountains, snow, darkness, forests, rivers and plains, facing evil and danger at every corner the Fellowship of the Ring must go. Their quest to destroy the One Ring is the only hope for the end of the Dark Lords reign.

The second movie is Cliffhanger. This 1993 action thriller stars Sylvester Stallone, John Lithgow, Michael Rooker, Janine Turner, and Ralph Waite (Father Walton).

The movie is centered around a Rocky Mountain rescue crew. When a hiker or climber gets in trouble, they are the rescue team whether trouble is down in a valley or at 10,000 feet. The Rocky Mountain winter scenes are very nice. The climbing scenes are well done and can be a bit too realistic if you really don't like heights. Things get interesting when a $100 million robbery goes wrong and the rescue crew are forced to help retrieve the loot. There is plenty of action throughout the film.

The third film is The Mask. The 1994 action comedy stars Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz.

- Bank clerk Stanley Ipkiss is transformed into a manic superhero when he wears a mysterious mask.

A young shy man discovers a mask by the sea with pictures the Norse god of tricks and deception, Loki. When he puts on the mask, he transforms into an uncontrolled reflection of himself doing crazy and amazing things. This new super-hero, the "Mask", falls in love with a singer (Cameron Diaz) while he decides to go after every gangster in the city.

The fourth film is The Hallelujah Trail. This 1965 western comedy stars Burt Lancaster, Lee Remick, Jim Hutton, Donald Pleasence, Brian Keith, and Martin Landau.

In 1867, a wagon train heads for Denver with a cargo of whisky for the miners. Chaos ensues as the Temperance League, the US cavalry, the miners, and the local Indians all try to take control of the valuable cargo.

The fifth film is Frankenstein. This 1931 adaptation of the Mary Shelley novel stars Colin Clive, Mae Clarke, and Boris Karloff. This is a high quality video that likely came from a blu-ray.

- An obsessed scientist assembles a living being from parts of exhumed corpses.

- Henry Frankenstein is a doctor who is trying to discover a way to make the dead walk. He succeeds and creates a monster that has to deal with living again.
