First up is Kris Kristofferson, Treat Williams, Jean Smart, etc. in FLASHPOINT. It's a tale of adventure in the South Texas desert from 1984.

"It began as a stroke of incredible luck for two United States Border Patrol agents, Bob Logan and Ernie Wyatt. Partners and pals who enjoyed good whiskey and bad women. They discover a jeep buried in the Texas desert for over 20 years with $850,000 in cash and a metal container holding a fishing rod and a high powered rifle. And a skeleton of a man in the drivers seat."

The second feature is Robert Urich, JoBeth Williams, Paul Dooley, Hoyt Axton, etc. in ENDANGERED SPECIES. This 1982 movie investigates a series of strange cattle mutilations in Colorado. Is it aliens????

"Thriller about a retired New York cop on Vacation in America's West who is drawn into a female sheriff's investigation of a mysterious series of cattle killings. "

Bump for the start of the Saturday night double feature.

edit: I modified the thread title so more might be curious about the movies. If these movies are interesting to you, please post.

OK, I will collaborate with my colleague and we will what we can see to come up with a doomer porn watch party. Facebook has a watch party feature that you can schedule and run automatically. And it has a nice chat feature. We are trying to grow brands as it were, but I think such a thing could be a big draw back to this site...

Maybe you could add a tag like 'full-length movies' to the thread so they are easily found? If these kinds of threads are going to become a regular weekend attraction (which would be great!), it could be a big help to everybody wanting to watch them again later after they slip off the main page.

For this to continue, someone else may have to pick and find movies. I thought both of these would be very good choices for TB2K. Except for 1 supporting comment, both seem to have been bad choices. :shr:

Don't be too hard on yourself with 258 page views already. Just not a lot of replies.

A movie thread won't get a lot of immediate feedback until people have gotten around to actually viewing the movie.

I like the idea of a weekly doomer/dystopian movie thread.

RB is correct. Unlike the Dance Party threads, people won’t add to a movie thread. They’ll look at the offerings and if they catch their eye, they’ll watch them.

LOL! I just asked him as well...but it's not his fault. My 11 month old granddaughter was playing with my tablet, and so ehow opened the tab with TB2k... and then changed his title! Sorry... I can't remember what it was originally..

In 1941, three men reach India from Tibet, having walked 4000 miles after escaping a Siberian gulag. The film tells their story and that of four others who escaped with them and a teenage girl who joins them in flight. The group's natural leader is Janusz, a Pole condemned by accusations secured by torturing his wife; he knows how to live in the wilds. They escape under cover of a snowstorm: a cynical American, a Russian thug, a comic accountant, a pastry chef who draws, a priest, and a Pole with night blindness. They face freezing nights, lack of food and water, mosquitoes, an endless desert, the Himalayas, and moral questions of when to leave someone behind.

The original title was better.

Flashpoint was good.

Do you mean the original title with "Conspiracy and Cattle Mutilation"?
I thought that might keep some people from even opening the thread so I changed it to just the lead actors and title of each movie.

I'm kind of uncertain as to what's what? Is it like a book club, and we all go watch them and come back and discuss, or do we have one of those big outdoor projectors, and were watching them together, or???

Hey I'm easy, and I have an official DOOMAGEDDEN ™ notebook beside me when read here... Books, shoes, deer cart, porn, flashlights, bullets, grainmills, and even other movies have been shared, and sometimes purchased, so I can definitely get behind a movie channel....if someone can find my remote and see if the tv still works. Its been off for the better part of two years now.

If its good, I'm good. Or in. Or whatever. Just tell me when\where.

Jward, it is simply a movie or 2 to watch if it interests you. Nothing more.

bw, a deer cart is what you haul deer huntin' stuff into the woods and hopefully use to haul a deer out of the woods.

These things fold down, are useful for lugging all sorts of things to and fro, and hunters appreciate the sturdy wheels when it comes time to haul their carcasses back to the truck. Also good for beer, drunk friends, wood, etc.
