It's movie time on TB2K again. Here are a variety of movies to help kick back from the real world if only for a few hours.
I'm putting each in a separate post. That should make it easier to comment, discuss, or like a specific choice.

The first movie is Blade Runner. This 1982 Sci-Fi thriller stars Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, and Sean Young. This movie has subtitles, but they are located in the black bar below the widescreen film instead of on top of the film. The movie is in English.

In the twenty-first century, a corporation develops androids to be used as slaves in colonies outside of the Earth. They are identified as replicants. Four replicants steal a spaceship and return to Earth to find their creator. A former Police Officer is hired to hunt down the fugitive group of replicants living undercover in Los Angeles, California.

The second movie is Predestination. This 2014 Australian Sci-fi drama stars Ethan Hawke, Sarah Snook, and Noah Taylor. This is an interesting film. However, it is one that is better to just watch rather than try to know everything about the movie before even watching it. It's a neat, intricate story and one that shouldn't be spoiled.

For his final assignment, a top temporal agent must pursue the one criminal that has eluded him throughout time. The chase turns into a unique, surprising and mind-bending exploration of love, fate, identity and time travel taboos.

The third movie is Tora! Tora! Tora!. This 1970 war film is the story leading up to the 1941 Pearl Harbor attack. Like Blade Runner, this film also has subtitles in the black bar below the widescreen film, but the langauge is English.

The path to war in December 1941 is retold from the appointment of Isoroku Yamamoto to command the Imperial Japanese Navy on through the execution of his most ambitious and audacious plan - an attack by carrier aircraft on the US Navy station at Pearl Harbor, in Hawaii. As the Japanese First Air Fleet sorties to Hawaii, diplomatic efforts by both nations continue, but intercepts of Japanese diplomatic messages show Japan is practicing deception and planning aggression - but there is no clue as to where Japan will strike.

The fourth movie is Midway. This 1976 WW2 film stars Charleton Heston, Henry Fonda, James Coburn, Glen Ford, Toshiro Mifume, and Hal Holbrook.

- A dramatization of the battle that was widely heralded as a turning point of the Pacific Theatre of World War II.

The 1942 battles of the Coral Sea and Midway island are retold through the points of view of both sides. When an audacious US air raid reaches Japan itself, Combined Fleet commander Isoroku Yamamoto orders seaborne invasions of Port Moresby in the southwestern Pacific and of Midway Island near Hawaii, invasions that Yamamoto hopes will smoke out the US Pacific Fleet for destruction before the full might of US war production can kick in. The Japanese are supremely confident of victory over the vastly outnumbered US fleet, but they are unaware that US Navy intelligence has cracked the Imperial Navy's codes, allowing the US to deploy aircraft carriers to maximum counteroffensive effect.

The fifth movie is Big Hero 6. This 2014 film is a Disney animation adventure about the special bond that develops between plus-sized inflatable robot Baymax, and prodigy Hiro Hamada. They team up with a group of friends to form a band of high-tech heroes.

When a devastating event befalls the city of San Fransokyo and catapults Hiro into the midst of danger, he turns to Baymax and his close friends adrenaline junkie Go Go Tomago, neatnik Wasabi, chemistry whiz Honey Lemon and fanboy Fred. Determined to uncover the mystery, Hiro transforms his friends into a band of high-tech heroes called "Big Hero 6."

The sixth movie is The Wolf of Wall Street. This 2013 outlandish finance/crime drama by Martin Scorsese stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie, and Jonah Hill.

First, this is rated R for sequences of strong sexual content, graphic nudity, drug use and language throughout, and for some violence. That out of the way, this is a crazy, funny look behind the scenes of wall street and the drug driving it (cash). It's rude, crude, and outrageous, but many liked it.

I almost didn't post this, but A Clockwork Orange was enjoyed by some and I think this is a better movie.
Read the reviews and watch if you like, but NO kids.

- Based on the true story of Jordan Belfort, from his rise to a wealthy stock-broker living the high life to his fall involving crime, corruption and the federal government.

In the early 1990s, Jordan Belfort teamed with his partner Donny Azoff and started brokerage firm Stratford-Oakmont. Their company quickly grows from a staff of 20 to a staff of more than 250 and their status in the trading community and Wall Street grows exponentially. So much that companies file their initial public offerings through them. As their status grows, so do the amount of substances they abuse, and so do their lies. They draw attention like no other, throwing lavish parties for their staff when they hit the jackpot on high trades. That ultimately leads to Belfort featured on the cover of Forbes Magazine, being called "The Wolf Of Wall St.". With the FBI onto Belfort's trading schemes, he devises new ways to cover his tracks and watch his fortune grow. Belfort ultimately comes up with a scheme to stash their cash in a European bank. But with the FBI watching him like a hawk, how long will Belfort and Azoff be able to maintain their elaborate wealth and luxurious lifestyles?

Always looking for details I may have missed.
I watched Blade Runner in the theater several times when it first came out. I was a young college student and this movie had a profound effect on my career. I also did the math then on how
old I'd be in 2019 and I'm now a year older than that. We don't have the warp drive from Star Trek, nor the lightsabers from Star Wars, but we sure seen to be heading for some kind of dystopia, minus the replicants. Great movie choices as always 1911user, thanks.

Another amazing group of movies this week. Blade Runner? WOW-that's a great movie! The rest of this week's selection is nothing short of amazing.
You put an incredible amount of work into finding these gems. It's more than appreciated. The movies you post and we download are excellent. They are a diverse, high quality group of films that would provide endless hours of entertainment if we're bunkered and hunkered down. Your movies downloaded are now part of my preps.
