There are 6 movies this week.
I recommend watching or saving these sooner rather than later.

This thread on MAIN has the info about the movies and is the place for discussion about them, as before.
However, all of the movie and download links are located in a separate,
members-only, thread in the MEDIA CENTER at this link:

----------->>> Link to the thread containing the actual movie links <<<-----------

This should help protect the source of the movies and keep them available longer.

If you watch or download a movie, please comment or like to guide future selections.
Click the "movies" tag at top to see a list of previous movie threads.

Movie trailers (from youtube) can be found in post #8 of this thread.
Click the "movies" tag at the top of this thread to see a list of all movies posted in the past.

Enjoy the Show!

The first movie is 2001 A Space Odyssey. This 1968 sci-fi classic is from Stanley Kubrick. It covers the advancement of man from stone age to space age. This is probably best remembered for the computer: HAL.

"2001" is a story of evolution. Sometime in the distant past, someone or something nudged evolution by placing a monolith on Earth (presumably elsewhere throughout the universe as well). Evolution then enabled humankind to reach the moon's surface, where yet another monolith is found, one that signals the monolith placers that humankind has evolved that far. Now a race begins between computers (HAL) and human (Bowman) to reach the monolith placers. The winner will achieve the next step in evolution, whatever that may be.

The second movie is Toy Story. This 1996 animation story about the real life of toys is enjoyable by the young and not so young.

A little boy named Andy loves to be in his room, playing with his toys, especially his doll named "Woody". But, what do the toys do when Andy is not with them, they come to life. Woody believes that his life (as a toy) is good. However, he must worry about Andy's family moving, and what Woody does not know is about Andy's birthday party. Woody does not realize that Andy's mother gave him an action figure known as Buzz Lightyear, who does not believe that he is a toy, and quickly becomes Andy's new favorite toy. Woody, who is now consumed with jealousy, tries to get rid of Buzz. Then, both Woody and Buzz are now lost. They must find a way to get back to Andy before he moves without them, but they will have to pass through a ruthless toy killer, Sid Phillips.

The third movie is Tombstone. This 1993 western stars Kurt Russell, Val Kilmer, Sam Elliot, Bill Paxton, Powers Boothe, and Michael Biehn. This is a good copy of a good movie and has been posted once before.

After success cleaning up Dodge City, Wyatt Earp moves to Tombstone, Arizona, and wishes to get rich in obscurity. He meets his brothers there, as well as his old friend Doc Holliday. A band of outlaws that call themselves The Cowboys are causing problems in the region with various acts of random violence, and inevitably come into confrontation with Holliday and the Earps, which leads to a shoot-out at the O.K. Corral.

The fourth movie is Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. This 2003 continuation of the Terminator series stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Nick Stahl, Claire Danes, and Kristanna Loken.

More than 10 years after 'Terminator 2', John Connor now exists only as a drifter - living 'off the grid', so no more Terminators from the future can hunt him down. Unfortunately, SkyNet does send another one back - and this one is called the T-X, even more powerful & advanced than the dreaded T-1000. However, another CSM-101 Terminator is also sent back to protect John against the T-X. Now, Skynet is patiently assuming control of civilian computer systems, under the guise of a computer virus. However, when the SkyNet virus infects the U.S military computers & leaves the country open to attack, the machines begin their horrific takeover. Soon a nuclear war will result - and the war against the machines will begin.

The fifth movie is Cliffhanger. This 1993 adventure film stars Sylvester Stallone, John Lithgow, Michael Rooker, and Janine Turner.

The movie is centered around a Rocky Mountain rescue crew. When a hiker or climber gets in trouble, they are the rescue team whether trouble is down in a valley or at 10,000 feet. The Rocky Mountain winter scenes are very nice. The climbing scenes are well done and can be a bit realistic if you really don't like heights. Things get interesting when a $100 million robbery goes wrong and the rescue crew are forced to help retrieve the loot.

The sixth movie is Top Secret!. This 1984 comedy is from the makers of the movie Airplane and stars Val Kilmer, Lucy Gutteridge, Peter Cushing, and Jeremy Kemp.

- A parody of WWII spy movies in which an American rock and roll singer becomes involved in a Resistance plot to rescue a scientist imprisoned in East Germany.

To represent the United States in a cultural festival organized by the Nazis of East Germany, the handsome, hip-swinging Rock 'n' Roll teen idol, Nick Rivers, travels deep behind the Iron Curtain. However, when Nick discovers that the promoters use the long-awaited event as a smokescreen to hide their plans to destroy the entire NATO submarine fleet in plain sight, the American singer allies with brave Hillary Flammond and the local French Resistance fighters. But, can sweet-voiced Nick thwart the oppressors' plans, and fall in love in the process?

Everybody can bad mouth Val Kilmer, he was a great role actor. He became the person he was suppose to be. Same with Robert Duvall, great actor got into the roll. But what do I know, I liked Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure...
