The first movie is Victor Frankenstein. This 2015 film stars Daniel Radcliffe, James McAvoy, and Jessica Findley.

Told from Igor's perspective, we see the troubled young assistant's dark origins, his redemptive friendship with the young medical student Victor Von Frankenstein, and become eyewitnesses to the emergence of how Frankenstein became the man - and the legend - we know today.

The second movie is The Man From Snowy River. This 1982 Australian western stars Tom Burlinson, Kirk Douglas, Jack Thompson, and Sigrid Thorton. This is a good coming of age western in 1880's Australia. The views are spectacular. Unfortunately, this has spanish subtitles. However they are in the black bar at the bottom of the screen.

- The story of a boy suddenly alone in the world. The men who challenge him. And the girl who helps him become a man.

Jim Craig has lived his first 18 years in the mountains of Australia on his father's farm. The death of his father forces him to go to the low lands to earn enough money to get the farm back on its feet. Kirk Douglas plays two roles as twin brothers who haven't spoken for years, one of whom was Jim's father's best friend and the other of whom is the father of the girl he wants to marry. A 20 year old feud re-erupts, catching Jim and Jessica in the middle of it.

The third movie is Killing Season. This 2013 action drama stars Robert De Niro and John Travolta.

Killing Season tells the story of two veterans of the Bosnian War, one American, one Serbian, who clash in the Appalachian Mountain wilderness. FORD is a former American soldier who fought on the front lines in Bosnia. When our story begins, he has retreated to a remote cabin in the woods, trying to escape painful memories of war. The drama begins when KOVAC, a former Serbian soldier, seeks Ford out, hoping to settle an old score. What follows is a cat-and-mouse game in which Ford and Kovac fight their own personal World War III, with battles both physical and psychological. By the end of the film, old wounds are opened, suppressed memories are drawn to the surface and long-hidden secrets about both Ford and Kovac are revealed.

The fourth movie is End of Watch. This 2012 police drama stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael Pena, Natalie Martinez, and Anna Kendrick. This is a hardcore cops-n-bad guys film. It's well done, but harsh at times just like the streets they patrol. The film also gets into their family/private lives which can be quite entertaining. Also, this film has foreign subs, but they are arabic with very narrow letters so it isn't a big distraction. This is high quality version of the film.

- Shot documentary-style, this film follows the daily grind and lives of two young police officers in LA who are partners and friends, and what happens when they meet criminal forces greater than themselves.

The fifth movie is Rear Window. This 1954 Hitchcock mystery classic stars James Stewart, Grace Kelly, Raymond Burr, and Thelma Ritter. This film also has subtitles.

- A wheelchair-bound photographer watches his neighbors from his apartment window and becomes convinced one of them has committed murder.

In 1950-something New York, an adventuresome free-lance photographer finds himself confined to a wheelchair in his tiny apartment while a broken leg mends. With only the occasional distraction of a visiting nurse and his frustrated love interest, a beautiful fashion consultant, his attention is naturally drawn to the courtyard outside his "rear window" and the occupants of the apartment buildings which surround it. Soon he is consumed by the private dramas of his neighbors lives which play themselves out before his eyes.

The sixth movie is To Catch A Thief. This 1955 Hitchcock (again!) romantic mystery stars Cary Grant, Grace Kelly, Jessie Landis, and John Williams.

- A retired jewel thief sets out to prove his innocence after being suspected of returning to his former occupation.

When the jewelry of millionaires are stolen on the French Riviera, the former burglar and member of the French resistance John Robie "The Cat" is the prime suspect of the police. John convinces the Lloyds of London insurance agent H.H. Hughson that a copycat is committing the burglaries and he offers to chase the thief to prove his innocence. He befriends the wealthy American widow Jessie Stevens, and her spoiled daughter Frances Stevens but when her jewelry is robbed, John must find the real burglar.

Dude, I feel like I should be paying admission to you for all these great movie finds! Or at least writing a bang up Yelp review on your theater (always clean and inviting) and your shows (well rounded, interesting and clean movies).

Two Alfred Hitchcock mysteries, a gritty police movie, a Rambo esque action movie, little horror and some KILLER westerns, all on one bill. That's what I call entertainment!

The Timebomb 2000 theater offers nothing but classy and interesting and COOL movies and the price is exceptional. Each week the movies get more interesting and you always offer something that everyone will like. The Hitchcock thrillers are pure style and class-Jimmy Stewart, Cary Grant and Grace Kelly is always drool worthy.

Thanks again minister of culture and enlightenment-tell me where to send my admission fee!

Journey To Shiloh (1968)

This movie is about a small group of young Texans that head east and join the Confederate Army. The film quality is not the best, and I think that it would have to be called a "B" movie.

It does have a very good and young cast. I don't think that I knew of any of these actors at that point in their careers.

James Caan, Michael Sarrazin, Harrison Ford, Jan Michael Vincent, Don Stroud

The Man From Snowy River is based upon the poem of the same name by A. B. "Banjo" Paterson and published in 1890. Both the poem and the film are considered classics in Australia, and Banjo Paterson is considered one of Australia's National Poets, along with Henry Lawson who wrote poems and stories in the same vein.

There was movement at the station, for the word had passed around
That the colt from old Regret had got away,
And had joined the wild bush horses — he was worth a thousand pound,
So all the cracks had gathered to the fray.
All the tried and noted riders from the stations near and far
Had mustered at the homestead overnight,
For the bushmen love hard riding where the wild bush horses are,
And the stock-horse snuffs the battle with delight.

There was Harrison, who made his pile when Pardon won the cup,
The old man with his hair as white as snow;
But few could ride beside him when his blood was fairly up —
He would go wherever horse and man could go.
And Clancy of the Overflow came down to lend a hand,
No better horseman ever held the reins;
For never horse could throw him while the saddle-girths would stand,
He learnt to ride while droving on the plains.

And one was there, a stripling on a small and weedy beast,
He was something like a racehorse undersized,
With a touch of Timor pony — three parts thoroughbred at least —
And such as are by mountain horsemen prized.
He was hard and tough and wiry — just the sort that won't say die —
There was courage in his quick impatient tread;
And he bore the badge of gameness in his bright and fiery eye,
And the proud and lofty carriage of his head.

But still so slight and weedy, one would doubt his power to stay,
And the old man said, 'That horse will never do
For a long and tiring gallop — lad, you'd better stop away,
Those hills are far too rough for such as you.'
So he waited sad and wistful — only Clancy stood his friend —
'I think we ought to let him come,' he said;
'I warrant he'll be with us when he's wanted at the end,
For both his horse and he are mountain bred.

'He hails from Snowy River, up by Kosciusko's side,
Where the hills are twice as steep and twice as rough,
Where a horse's hoofs strike firelight from the flint stones every stride,
The man that holds his own is good enough.
And the Snowy River riders on the mountains make their home,
Where the river runs those giant hills between;
I have seen full many horsemen since I first commenced to roam,
But nowhere yet such horsemen have I seen.'

So he went — they found the horses by the big mimosa clump —
They raced away towards the mountain's brow,
And the old man gave his orders, 'Boys, go at them from the jump,
No use to try for fancy riding now.
And, Clancy, you must wheel them, try and wheel them to the right.
Ride boldly, lad, and never fear the spills,
For never yet was rider that could keep the mob in sight,
If once they gain the shelter of those hills.'

So Clancy rode to wheel them — he was racing on the wing
Where the best and boldest riders take their place,
And he raced his stock-horse past them, and he made the ranges ring
With the stockwhip, as he met them face to face.
Then they halted for a moment, while he swung the dreaded lash,
But they saw their well-loved mountain full in view,
And they charged beneath the stockwhip with a sharp and sudden dash,
And off into the mountain scrub they flew.

Then fast the horsemen followed, where the gorges deep and black
Resounded to the thunder of their tread,
And the stockwhips woke the echoes, and they fiercely answered back
From cliffs and crags that beetled overhead.
And upward, ever upward, the wild horses held their way,
Where mountain ash and kurrajong grew wide;
And the old man muttered fiercely, 'We may bid the mob good day,
NO man can hold them down the other side.'

When they reached the mountain's summit, even Clancy took a pull,
It well might make the boldest hold their breath,
The wild hop scrub grew thickly, and the hidden ground was full
Of wombat holes, and any slip was death.
But the man from Snowy River let the pony have his head,
And he swung his stockwhip round and gave a cheer,
And he raced him down the mountain like a torrent down its bed,
While the others stood and watched in very fear.

He sent the flint stones flying, but the pony kept his feet,
He cleared the fallen timber in his stride,
And the man from Snowy River never shifted in his seat —
It was grand to see that mountain horseman ride.
Through the stringy barks and saplings, on the rough and broken ground,
Down the hillside at a racing pace he went;
And he never drew the bridle till he landed safe and sound,
At the bottom of that terrible descent.

He was right among the horses as they climbed the further hill,
And the watchers on the mountain standing mute,
Saw him ply the stockwhip fiercely, he was right among them still,
As he raced across the clearing in pursuit.
Then they lost him for a moment, where two mountain gullies met
In the ranges, but a final glimpse reveals
On a dim and distant hillside the wild horses racing yet,
With the man from Snowy River at their heels.

And he ran them single-handed till their sides were white with foam.
He followed like a bloodhound on their track,
Till they halted cowed and beaten, then he turned their heads for home,
And alone and unassisted brought them back.
But his hardy mountain pony he could scarcely raise a trot,
He was blood from hip to shoulder from the spur;
But his pluck was still undaunted, and his courage fiery hot,
For never yet was mountain horse a cur.

And down by Kosciusko, where the pine-clad ridges raise
Their torn and rugged battlements on high,
Where the air is clear as crystal, and the white stars fairly blaze
At midnight in the cold and frosty sky,
And where around the Overflow the reedbeds sweep and sway
To the breezes, and the rolling plains are wide,
The man from Snowy River is a household word to-day,
And the stockmen tell the story of his ride.

I had not heard of this movie. Thanks for listing it.
Too often we are haunted by the things we have done. They consume us. But we don't know we can let them go. We can be better. We are not only the things we have done, but we are also the things we can do now.

Too many of our Veterans are trapped an unforgiving place in their own minds.

You can add more, Halloween is starting early this year: a dozen this Friday that are in the spirit of Halloween and another dozen for Halloween weekend. They'll range from mild to wild and cover over 60 years of movies with something for everyone.
