It's movie time on TB2K again. Here are a variety of movies to help kick back from the real world if only for a few hours.
I'm putting each in a separate post. That should make it easier to comment, discuss, or like a specific choice.
If you watch or download a movie, please comment or like it to guide future selections.
The movie mix comes from youtube and archive.org. That will continue for the future.
Click the "movies" tag at top to see a list of previous movie threads.
Click on an individual movie poster to see it full size.
The movie trailers are located in post #8.

Enjoy the Show!

The first movie is Thirty Seconds over Tokyo. This 1944 WW2 film stars Spencer Tracy, Van Johnson, Robert Mitchum, and Robert Walker.

The story of "The Doolittle Raid" based on the personal account by Doolittle Raider Ted Lawson. Stunned by Pearl Harbor and a string of defeats, America needed a victory - badly. To that end, Colonel Jimmy Doolittle, a former air racer and stunt pilot, devises a plan for a daring raid on the heart of Japan itself. To do this, he must train army bomber pilots to do something no one ever dreamed possible - launch 16 fully loaded bombers from an aircraft carrier! Remarkable in its accuracy, this movie even uses film footage from the actual raid.

The second movie is Ant Man and the Wasp. This 2018 Marvel Comics film is follow-up to Ant Man (shown last week). This stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Pena, Michael Douglas, and Lawrence Fishburne.

As Scott Lang balances being both a superhero and a father, Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym present an urgent new mission that finds the Ant-Man fighting alongside The Wasp to uncover secrets from their past.

The third movie is Shout at the Devil. This 1976 adventure film stars Lee Marvin, Roger Moore, and Barbara Parkins.

During World War I, a British aristocrat, an American entrepreneur, and the latter's attractive young daughter, set out to destroy a German battle cruiser, which is awaiting repairs in an inlet just off Zanzibar.

The fourth movie is BAT*21. This 1988 Vietnam war film stars Gene Hackman, Danny Glover, and Jerry Reed. This event actually happened, but the movie does not show the large size of the real recovery mission. It's still a good film about Vietnam.

During the Vietnam war, a U.S. observation plane is hit by a missile. The only survivor of the crew is the Lieutenant Colonel Iceal Hambleton, an expert in missile weaponry. Because of his knowledge, it is crucial to rescue him before the Vietcong get their hands on him.

The fifth movie is The Nutty Professor. This 1963 comedy stars Jerry Lewis, Stella Stevens, and Del Moore.
Sorry for the spanish subtitles.

To improve his social life, a nerdish professor drinks a potion that temporarily turns him into the handsome, but obnoxious, Buddy Love.

The sixth movie is Chino. This 1973 western stars Charles Bronson, Jill Ireland, and Vincent Van Patten.

Chino Valdez is a loner horse breeder living in the old west. Partly a loner by choice, and partly because, being a 'half-breed', he finds himself unwelcome almost everywhere he goes. One day, a young runaway named Jimmy shows up at his door looking for work and a roof over his head. Reluctantly, Chino agrees to take him in and teach him the art of raising, breaking and breeding horses, until the pair finally begin to accept each other.

1911user, you rock!! Some excellent choices and I think you are kind of reading the mood here correctly. I've not seen but one of these and will have to correct my oversight this weekend. Thanks! :)

BTW, did you notice that the MGM lion in '30 seconds...' looks quite different from the one we're used to seeing....

Definitely a more subdued lion. Enjoy the shows.

I read the book "Bat-21" and it is a fantastic read. Highly recommended!

Bat-21 was the downed plane's call sign.

First time watching, Shout at the Devil is a crazy adventure film with a lot of comedy and some romance thrown in the mix. I've seen the others except Nutty Professor. I'm not a Jerry Lewis fan, but I thought quite a few are and the movie ratings were good. Apparently Jerry is not favored here, based on lack of reaction.
