It's movie time on TB2K again. Here are a variety of movies to help kick back from the real world if only for a few hours.
I'm putting each in a separate post. That should make it easier to comment, discuss, or like a specific choice.
If you watch or download a movie, please comment or like it to guide future selections.
Click the "movies" tag at top to see a list of previous movie threads.

The movie trailers are located in post #8.

Enjoy the Show!

The first movie is The Count of Monte Cristo. This 2002 adventure drama stars Jim Caviezel, Guy Pearce, and Christopher Adamson.

'The Count of Monte Cristo' is an adaptation of the Alexander Dumas tale by the same name. Dantes, a sailor who is falsely accused of treason by his best friend Fernand, who wants Dantes' girlfriend Mercedes for himself. Dantes is imprisoned on the island prison of Chateau d'If for 13 years, where he plots revenge against those who betrayed him. With the help of another prisoner, he escapes the island and proceeds to transform himself into the wealthy Count of Monte Cristo as part of his plan to exact revenge.

The second movie is Broken City. This 2013 crime drama stars Mark Walberg, Russell Crowe, and Catherine Zeta-Jones. This has arabic subtitles, but they are narrow and don't spoil watching the movie.

In a big city rife with injustice, ex-cop Billy Taggart seeks redemption and revenge after being double-crossed and then framed by its most powerful figure: Mayor Nicholas Hostetler.

The fourth movie is The Great Silence. This 1968 film is an intense spaghetti western classic (from Italy). This stars Jean-Louis Trintignant, Klaus Kinski, and Frank Wolf. This is in English with no subtitles.

A mute gunfighter defends a young widow and a group of outlaws against a gang of bounty killers in the winter of 1898, and a grim, tense struggle unfolds.

Bounty killers, led by Loco, prey on outlaws hiding out in the snowbound Utah mountains. After Pauline's husband becomes Loco's latest victim, she hires a gunman for revenge, Silence, a mute since his throat was cut when he was a boy.

The fifth movie is Executive Suite. This 1954 drama stars William Holden, Barbara Stanwyck, June Allyson, Frederic March, and Walter Pidgeon.

- When the head of a large manufacturing firm dies suddenly from a stroke, his vice presidents vie to see who will replace him.

Avery Bullard, President of the Tredway Corporation has died. But he never named a clear successor, so the Board members must choose a replacement. The most likely is Loren Shaw, a skilled businessman, but some of the others don't like his calculating ways. But to stop him, they'll have to find someone else they can back. Will it be the engineer Don Walling? That will take convincing, they don't trust his youth and idealism. And he isn't even sure he wants the job, he might be happier creating rather than politicking.

The sixth movie is Eraser. This 1996 action film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Vanessa Williams, James Caan, James Coburn, and Robert Pastorelli. This is a good movie, but it has asian subtitles and they are more annoying than usual. That's why this film is last on the list this week.

- A Witness Protection specialist becomes suspicious of his co-workers when dealing with a case involving high-tech weapons.

John Kruger works for the witness relocation program. His job is to disappear and remove all traces of any witness in the program When Lee Cullen, an executive, turns over evidence of illegal arms deals to the FBI, John is assigned to protect her. But they both soon find the level of treason extends into high levels of the government.

These look good, thanks!

Is there any way you could post the series Amerika on here? It just seems very appropriate, because we're living in the opening stages of it.

I just found Doug McClure's version of "The Land That Time Forgot" on YouTube. I can't post it as I'm on my phone. I have the original graphic novel (comic book) from just after the movie came out.

Thank you. Monte Cristo "just for the purty clothes n accouterments" Executive suite for the performers, and Kill me 3 times for the murder n mayhem to help me relax.

..as always, assuming my IP permits me my pleasures..

I downloaded and watched your "other" version you posted of The Count of Monte Cristo a while back. It was the one with Tony Curtis, Richard Chamberlain and Richard Jordan from the 1970's.

1911,

I want to thank you for posting this each week. While I don't watch the movies in the suggest format I do use them for ideas and suggestions for when I go out fishing on the bay.

Although I will admit that I am more of a tv show type of guy as I like a longer story format then a 2 hour movie. Currently watching Coyote where it looks like that when Vic Mackey left the LAPD after his deal he ended up working for the Border Patrol. Just a suggestion for my fishing friends.
