There are 7 movies this week.
I recommend watching or saving these sooner rather than later.

This thread on MAIN has the info about the movies and is the place for discussion about them, as before.
However, all of the movie and download links are located in a separate,
members-only, thread in the MEDIA CENTER at this link:

----------->>> Link to the thread containing the actual movie links <<<-----------

This should help protect the source of the movies and keep them available longer.

If you watch or download a movie, please comment or like to guide future selections.
Click the "movies" tag at top to see a list of previous movie threads.

Movie trailers (from youtube) can be found in post #9 of this thread.
Click the "movies" tag at the top of this thread to see a list of all movies posted in the past.

Enjoy the Show!

Just before being destroyed, Skynet sends a Terminator back in time to kill Sarah. The terminator can pass for human, is nearly indestructible, and has only one mission. The second movie is Terminator 2: Judgement Day. This 1992 sci-fi thriller stars Arnold Schwartzenegger, Linda Hamilton, and Edward Furlong. This is the long (ultimate cut) version of this film. It does have a short section where spanish is spoken with no subtitles, but it's fairly obvious what is happening.

Nearly 10 years have passed since Sarah Connor was targeted for termination by a cyborg from the future. Now her son, John, the future leader of the resistance, is the target for a newer, more deadly terminator. Once again, the resistance has managed to send a protector back to attempt to save John and his mother Sarah.

The fifth movie is Birdy. This 1984 drama stars Matthew Modine, Nicolas Cage, John Harkins, and Karen Young.

Philly boys Al and Birdy became friends in high school despite the extreme difference in their personalities, Al being the popular and athletic extrovert, Birdy the antisocial "weird" introvert. Al gave Birdy his nickname because of his fascination - obsession really - with birds, especially with flight. Al and Birdy have just completed their service of duty in the Vietnam War and have returned to the States. Al sustained some serious physical injuries, which required major reconstructive surgery to his face. Birdy, however, returned from Vietnam seemingly emotionally scarred. He was missing in action for one month. He has not spoken since he was found. Despite his own medical issues, Al travels to the institution where Birdy is being kept to see if he can assist in getting Birdy out of his near comatose state. Having always had issues with authority, Al is less than forthright with the doctors about Birdy's mental state prior to the war. As Al tries whatever he can to help Birdy using tools from their shared history prior to the war, he deals with his own post-war mental state.

The sixth movie is Chato's Land. This 1972 western stars Charles Bronson, Jack Palance, James Whitmore, and Ralph Waite.

- In 1870s New Mexico, a half-breed kills a bigoted sheriff in self-defense but the posse that eventually hunts him finds itself in dangerous territory.

After a deadly confrontation with the racist local sheriff in the town's whites-only bar, the half-Apache, Pardon Chato, flees into the unforgiving desert. Hell-bent on making Chato pay, the famed former Confederate officer, Captain Quincey Whitmore, assembles an angry posse of blood-thirsty men; however, who is the hunter, and who is the hunted? Do Whitmore's toughs stand a chance of surviving in Chato's dangerous land?

He is forced out of retirement when his daughter is kidnapped by a band of thugs intent on revenge! Great views this week, thank you.

Christian School secretary circa 1980-2000 - sons and friends were watching a rental called "The Terminator". I'd heard of it but wasn't really interested ... then as I walked thru the room while they watched, I stopped for a second - quickly drawn in. I don't think I sat down until the credits rolled. An old movie now but I found it riveting. Friends can hardly believe that I watched - much less enjoyed - that one, lol!

I just received an old series I've been looking for. Wire In The Blood. It's old, it's terrific, xcept for the 1st in the small series. Stars Robson Green. He an intuitive detective. I would not recommend the very 1st one, it ends in a very graphic manner that I remember seeing 10 yrs ago and I don't want to see that one ever again. All the others were fine for adults.

Birdy is a wonderful film. It's been in my top two or three list for decades. Thanks for finding it.

The first Terminator will always be a favorite movie. It's a bit gritty and lower budget, even more black and white if that makes sense. It was Good vs. Bad fighting for the future of humanity before CGI took over everything.

Thank you!
I can rarely download or watch a movie because of data limits but I enjoy westerns and got the one today.

Related (in general): there was a TV series in the 70’s with Walter Brennan called The Guns of Will Sonnett. What made the series unique is that there was a prayer at the end of every episode. This series is impossible to find via streaming service, so I bought the DVD set.

Trivia bit: the nightclub (“Tech Noir”) where Sarah Connor goes in the first part of the film was built specifically for the film. It was an empty building that was renovated for the film. During filming, people off the street would try to come in, thinking it was a real nightclub. The name was a tribute to the Film Noir genre.

Thank you yet again. Twas so nice to "meet" Sara C. all those years ago, and see my alter ego face to face, as it were.

I finished watching this version (ultimate cut) of Terminator 2 for the first time. For fans of the series, I recommend watching this version if you haven't seen it before. The extra 20 minutes make it a different movie in some aspects, but no spoilers from me....

If you have to choose between films due to your download limitations, please accept my plug for Birdy. It's a sleeper with Matt Modine and Nick Cage, and you won't forget it.
