There are 9 movies this week plus Housecarl's classic picks (start at post #22).
I recommend watching or saving these soon.

This thread on MAIN has the info about the movies and is the place for discussion about them.
However, all of the movie and download links for my movie choices are located in a separate,
members-only, thread in the MEDIA CENTER at this link:

---->>> Link to the thread containing the actual movie links (click this) <<<----

This should help protect the source of the movies and keep them available longer.

Click the "movies" tag at top to see a list of previous movie threads.

Movie trailers (from youtube) can be found in post #9 of this thread.

Enjoy the Show!

The first movie is The Suicide Squad. This 2021 action comedy is a sort-of sequel to the 2016 Suicide Squad. It's also brand new and TB is likely to have some extra guests this weekend. Margot Robbie returns as Harley Quinn. I think everyone else is new to the series. This movie isn't as serious as the one from 2016. Kick back, laugh, and have fun with it.

Supervillains Harley Quinn, Bloodsport, Peacemaker and a collection of nutty cons at Belle Reve prison join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X as they are dropped off at the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese.

The second movie is 12 Monkeys. This 1995 sci-fi mystery stars Bruce Willis, Madeleine Stow, and Brad Pitt.

- In a future world devastated by disease, a convict is sent back in time to gather information about the man-made virus that wiped out most of the human population on the planet.

Claiming to be a time traveler from the distant 2035, James Cole, a delusional patient hospitalized in a 1990 mental institution, feels compelled to carry out his important mission: to save the world from a devastating virulent agent capable of annihilating billions. However, as Cole's psychiatrist, Dr Kathryn Railly, senses that there is more to him than meets the eye. A fateful encounter with another inmate, the unhinged, Jeffrey Goines, will trigger a string of unfathomable events, balancing between the past and the present, sanity and insanity. Now, all clues point to the extreme activist group known only as the Army of the Twelve Monkeys; nevertheless, is the reality Cole so eloquently describes, indeed, true, or is it only a disturbing but subjective hallucination?

The third movie is Contact. This 1997 sci-fi mystery stars Jodie Foster, Matthew McConaughey, and Tom Skerritt.

- Dr. Ellie Arroway, after years of searching, finds conclusive radio proof of extraterrestrial intelligence, sending plans for a mysterious machine.

This is the story of a free thinking radio astronomer who discovers an intelligent signal broadcast from deep space. She and her fellow scientists are able to decipher the message and discover detailed instructions for building a mysterious machine. Will the machine spell the end of our world, or the end of our superstitions? Will we take our place among the races of the galaxy, or are we just an upstart species with a long way to go?

The fourth movie is Apollo 11. This documentary is a look into the Apollo 11 mission to land on the moon led by commander Neil Armstrong and pilots Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins.

On its fiftieth anniversary, the events surrounding the actual Apollo 11 space mission are presented solely using archival footage and still photographs of or associated with the mission. The events span from the eleventh hour preparations for the launch to shortly after the safe touchdown of the capsule with its three astronauts back on Earth. The mission is historic as the first time humans had stepped on the surface of the Earth's moon. It arguably made household names of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin as the first and second to walk on the moon, and slightly less so for the third astronaut, Michael Collins, who remained inside the capsule at the time. It was arguably the most dangerous space mission at the time in part to the astronauts leaving the safety of the capsule.

The fifth movie is Four Good Days. This 2020 drama stars Glen Close, Mila Kunis, and Stephen Root. I have not watched this, but the reviews are good for this type of movie.

A mother helps her daughter work through four crucial days of recovery from substance abuse.

The next 3 movies are The Lord of the Rings series. The quality is OK, not great, but I've never ran into the set of 3 movies together. They were released one per yeat starting in late 2001.

A meek Hobbit from the Shire and eight companions set out on a journey to destroy the powerful One Ring and save Middle-earth from the Dark Lord Sauron.

I have Khartoum on dvd. I love those horse and camel charges. I saw 55 days on you tube before they pulled it.

I don't think, or at least hope the Taliban don't have anybody like the Maudi.

Doesn't look like that happened today. There was a chance with the new Suicide Squad listing.
EDIT: 20 minutes later, up to 500 guests and many are looking at the movie thread on main.
