The first movie is Greyhound. This 2020 WW2 naval drama stars mainly Tom Hanks.

- Several months after the U.S. entry into World War II, an inexperienced U.S. Navy commander must lead an Allied convoy to England while being stalked by a German submarine wolf pack.

Based upon the novel "The Good Shepherd" by C S Forester, this is the thrilling story of an Allied convoy crossing the North Atlantic in 1942 as it faces relentless attack by a German submarine wolf pack. The leader of the convoy's destroyer screen is a US Navy commander making his first Atlantic crossing. The story focuses on the his command responsibility as he fights the cold, the relentless night, the brutal sea, and his deep fatigue as he chases down the attacking submarines in the deadly game of cat and mouse. The exciting story, a thrilling ride-along with the beleaguered captain, so deeply portrays the elements of battle command that for a long period of time the book was used as a text at the US Naval Academy.

The second movie is The Mule. This 2018 drama stars mainly Clint Eastwood. A very elderly looking Clint Eastwood; when did he get old?

- A ninety-year-old horticulturist and Korean War veteran turns drug mule for a Mexican cartel.

Clint Eastwood stars as Earl Stone, a man who is ninety years old, broke, alone, and facing foreclosure of his business when he is offered a job that simply requires him to drive. Easy enough, but, unbeknownst to Earl, he's just signed on as a drug courier for a Mexican cartel. He does well, so well, in fact, that his cargo increases exponentially, and Earl is assigned a handler. But he isn't the only one keeping tabs on Earl. The mysterious new drug mule has also hit the radar of hard-charging D.E.A. Agent Colin Bates (Bradley Cooper). And even as his money problems become a thing of the past, Earl's past mistakes start to weigh heavily on him, and it's uncertain if he'll have time to right those wrongs before law enforcement, or the cartel's enforcers, catch up to him.

The fourth movie is Bloodshot. This 2020 sci-fi movie stars Vin Diesel. For those that despise comic-adaptations, think of this as a sci-fi action movie because it is and a pretty good one too. Also understand that this movie evolves meaning the longer you watch, the more you learn. This is R-rated and has some serious fighting at times.

- Ray Garrison, a slain soldier, is re-animated with superpowers.

Based on the Valiant Comics character of the same name; Bloodshot stars Vin Diesel as Marine Ray Garrison. When he and his wife are murdered, Ray is resurrected by a secret team of scientists. Enhanced with nanotechnology, he becomes a superhuman, biotech killing machine. As Ray first trains with fellow super-soldiers, he cannot recall anything from his former life. But when his memories flood back and he remembers the man that killed both him and his wife, he breaks out of the facility hellbent on revenge, only to discover that there's more to the conspiracy than he originally thought.

The fifth movie is Mortal Engines. This 2018 fantasy adventure stars Hera Hilar, Robert Sheehan, and Hugo Weaving. This is an interesting fantasy movie. It's not perfect, but it definitely is interesting to the end.

Based on the Bestselling book by Philip Reeve, Mortal Engines tells the story of a dystopian future, where cities move on wheels across a barren earth. One day on London, a young, scarred girl named Hester Shaw meets with a boy named Tom Natsworthy, an outcast from London, and accompanied by the brave Anti-Traction League, must stop the villainous Valentine and an unfolding plot to destroy the world.

Dissatisfied with Bill's justice, the prostitutes put a bounty on the cowboys. The bounty attracts a young gun billing himself as "The Schofield Kid" (Jaimz Woolvett), and aging killer William Munny (Clint Eastwood). Munny reformed for his young wife, and has been raising crops and two children in peace. But his wife is dead. Farm life is hard. And Munny is no good at it. The seventh movie is Spaceballs. This 1987 sci-fi comedy stars Mel Brooks, John Candy, Rick Moranis, and Bill Pullman. For those not familiar, this is a parody of Star Wars.

On the peaceful planet Druidia, King Roland attempts to marry his daughter Princess Vespa to Prince Valium, but Vespa and her loyal droid Dot Matrix escape during her wedding. After wasting the fresh air on the distant planet Spaceball, the good-for-nothing President Skroob orders the archvillain henchman Dark Helmet to kidnap Princess Vespa to force King Roland to provide them with the code to Druidia's atmosphere. Under those circumstances, the seasoned mercenary Lone Starr and his trusty half-human, half-canine sidekick Barf will attempt to save the Princess in distress, while at the same time, the ruthless loan-shark Pizza the Hutt is after them. But in the end, only he who can harness the mystical and mighty force known only as "The Schwartz" will be able to save the day.

The eighth movie is RoboCop. This 1987 sci-fi crime adventure stars Peter Weller, Nancy Allen, and Kurtwood Smith.

- In a dystopic and crime-ridden Detroit, a terminally wounded cop returns to the force as a powerful cyborg haunted by submerged memories.

In a violent, near-apocalyptic Detroit, evil corporation Omni Consumer Products wins a contract from the city government to privatize the police force. To test their crime-eradicating cyborgs, the company leads street cop Alex Murphy into an armed confrontation with crime lord Boddicker so they can use his body to support their untested RoboCop prototype. But when RoboCop learns of the company's nefarious plans, he turns on his masters.

If I may be allowed to piggyback on your excellent selections, here's an old favorite of mine.
The Wreck of the Mary Deare is an interesting blend of action thriller and courtroom drama, with an all-star cast featuring Cary Grant and Charlton Heston. Even though he was battling cancer at the time, Grant still did his own stunts, including underwater fight scenes in scuba gear.

Greyhound is a great film and seems to have a very authentic feel. Unfortunately I was always aware it was mostly CGI, and that awareness is a distraction. But it's damn good CGI.

Mortal Engines is a fun scifi romp, and worth the time.

Am interested in Mule but haven't seen it.

Great list, 1911!

I watched Greyhound 2 days ago and didn't notice cgi as a big issue.

I didn't mean that CGI errors jumped out or anything. It's just that I knew this would be impossible to film so it had to be CGI, and that was in the back of my mind all the time. But it's very convincing CGI, I sure couldn't complain about it.

I didn't give a good description on Mortal Engines, but it's too late to edit.
It's a better movie than I described. The trailer does a good job of showing what the movie really is about.
