The first movie is Blackhat. This 2015 Michael Mann adventure stars Chris Hemsworth, Viola Davis, Tang Wei, and Leehom Wang. Remember Heat, Collateral, Manhunter? Those were Michael Mann films. A blackhat is a computer hacker. When one blows up a nuclear reactor in China, the hunt is on.

- A furloughed convict and his American and Chinese partners hunt a high-level cybercrime network from Chicago to Los Angeles to Hong Kong to Jakarta.

Set in the criminal world of cyberspace, an experienced hacker serving a 13 year sentence in prison is recruited by FBI and CIA authorities to capture a cyber-hacker committing high level terrorist attacks around the world with no apparent reason. The chase leads them on a worldwide adventure from New York to L.A. to Tokyo to Jakarta. As they begin to start getting closer to him, they discover horrifying motives and secrets that could never have been predicted.

- Set in Depression-era Franklin County, Virginia, a trio of bootlegging brothers are threatened by a new special deputy and other authorities angling for a cut of their profits.

The fifth movie is The Godfather. This 1972 crime drama stars Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan, and Robert Duvall.

The Godfather "Don" Vito Corleone is the head of the Corleone mafia family in New York. He is at the event of his daughter's wedding. Michael, Vito's youngest son and a decorated WW II Marine is also present at the wedding. Michael seems to be uninterested in being a part of the family business. Vito is a powerful man, and is kind to all those who give him respect but is ruthless against those who do not. But when a powerful and treacherous rival wants to sell drugs and needs the Don's influence for the same, Vito refuses to do it. What follows is a clash between Vito's fading old values and the new ways which may cause Michael to do the thing he was most reluctant in doing and wage a mob war against all the other mafia families which could tear the Corleone family apart.

The eighth movie is National Treasure. This 2004 historical adventure stars Nicolas Cage, Diane Kruger, Sean Bean, and John Voight.

Benjamin Franklin Gates descends from a family of treasure-seekers who've all hunted for the same thing: a war chest hidden by the Founding Fathers after the Revolutionary War. The founding fathers hid clues to its whereabouts in the country's currency and on the back of the Declaration of Independence. Now, he has learned of a plot to steal the Declaration, and has only one option: steal it himself. Even if he pulls off this monumental task, keeping the treasure safe is still going to be incredibly hard, especially since the FBI has also gotten wind of the scheme.

The tenth movie is The Dictator. This 2012 comedy stars Sasha Baron Cohen (probably better know as Borat). I'm not a fan of his, but some on TB2K might be.

- The heroic story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed.

Admiral General Aladeen is one of the world's last standing old school dictators. Enjoying near unlimited wealth thanks to the company's vast producing oil fields, he rules his country with an iron fist whether it's executing anyone who he doesn't agree with, changing 300 words in his native language to his last name, or staging an Olympics where he wins every gold medal, he might be one of the world's most dangerous men. When the UN threatens sanctions against his country, the North African Republic of Wadiya, he has no choice but to come to New York City to address the UN Council. While here, General Aladeen is ritualistically stripped of his power by a rogue CIA official and cast out into the city of Manhattan, where he goes from ruthless dictator to being another face in the crowd. Along the way, he meets a woman named Zoey who runs an organic health food store, and runs into a borough of New York that is essentially full of the people he supposedly executed several years ago. Could Zoey be the key to him getting back into the game, or will Wadiya be stripped and sold to the highest bidding oil company?

WOW. I must have hit the lottery-been wanting to download the Godfather trilogy for a long time. A Beautiful Mind looks interesting, the National Treasure movies too. The Highwaymen looks interesting! And Lawless sounds like a biography of my family in a way. And Sasha Baron Cohen is a fruitcake but he's pretty funny, so that's a must watch too.
Every one of these movies tonight are going to be downloaded. WOW, what a great selection!
You hit it out of the ballpark, minister of culture and enlightenment! THANK YOU!

I watched Laurence of Arabia last weekend, when Portland had 6 inches of snow and ice storms. The sand man, thank you for the sand, miles of it, with HEAT, HEAT HEAT. :D

I remember seeing it on the WIDE screen in a theater back in 1962 or whenever. I also watched Red Dawn the North Korean Version, John Wick 3, and The Pink Panther ones again for the oh I don't know 30th? I can watch them over and over .The 1975 one, where Sellers drives the car into the swimming pool. :eleph:
Thanks again.

This group was an unusual find.
Check the links page for 2 general links of other movies uploaded as 2 big groups.
The movies this weekend came from those 2 groups.
All the Harry Potter movies are there along with many Games of Thrones episodes and others.

I just watched that one myself and then watched Lawless. Wow. Intense family and circumstances in Lawless and a true story as well.

After a brief discussion with 1911user, I went looking at how he finds these. I have complete respect and admiration for the work he puts in to bring these to us.

I watched blackhat and downloaded part one and two of the Godfather. I have to be careful as I have a Verizon 30 GB download maximum.

I also watched most of season 8 of Game of Thrones, the one that ended back in May of 2019.

I watched Season 8 episode one
Season 8 episode two,
Season 8 episode 4

I checked back the next day, and it is the second big download list User1911 did, or somebody did, and found that Season 8 Episode 5 had showed up on the list. And next I checked Season 8 Episode 3 was there, so I watched that one. The one with the longest battle scene after the battle for Helms Deep in the Two Towers, some 40 minutes.

So, now all I have to find it Season 8 episode 6 and I am done. I can watch them there, with a lot less bandwidth use than download them, even assuming I could figure out how to do that off the archive page. :D
There is a reason User1911 does it that way since none of us other old farts can do stuff like that. Computer ILLITERATE I think is the term.

Obviously, my search attempts were pathetic to say the least.

Be aware that the subtitles for the italian parts of the godfather 1&2 (and probably 3, but not sure) are missing.
Attached are the subtitles you'll need for 1&2 if you can use a media player that allows adding them. Save the attached files then delete the .zip from the end of the filename. They're not really zip files, but the board won't let me attach .srt files. These are very small, maybe 5K each, but they'll help with the movies.
