I found a true 80's post-apocalyplse movie. Bruce Dern is even crazier than his usual self, but it hasn't rained in 50 years.
This has Adam Ant, Michael Pare', Catherine Mary Stuart, Alan Autry, and quite a few others you'd recognize from the mid 80's. :spns:
The video and audio are decent considering this is from VHS.

I loved it when we had a "weekend matinee" on TB many years ago. I hope this catches on.

Here's a treat for someone to run with next weekend. It's a high quality (720p widescreen) version of Damnation Alley (1977).
The one with George Peppard and Jan Michael Vincent in the big Land Master going across the country after a nuclear war.
The title indicates it is from a blu-ray. The only issue is the volume is on the low side.

The hard part about doing this is finding something hopefully interesting that youtube hasn't removed yet. There was a big thread 3 years ago with lots of movies like this. Many are no longer available.

Talk is cheap
Wow, craving popcorn with butter and sea salt, big time. I do not remember this one, or I never heard of it...scrolled back up to look at it again...ah bucket of popcorn needed stat. Will have to watch this when I have time.

So...the weather control is so that they can make it NOT rain? Ugh...of course...just like they can make it rain a lot. You bet the technology has probably been known for a long time...wow. Stupendously disturbing and a big dot. I never thought of that little minor tidbit.

(((ETA: with this, and the pentagon releasing surveillance balloons over 6 states as an experiment, including over my state...I have posted a dream I had three times when I was younger, back in the day...in REL. I had originally thought UNEX...could be that category, but more appropriate is REL.)))

Enjoyed that, loved the ending. Mad maxish

Glad you liked it. It's a fun movie with lots of weird characters. Surprising for a movie like this, several in the cast were pretty big stars at the time. I like Bruce Dern and he really shined as the crazy as a fox leader and spiritual guru.

Didn't see this earlier, sorry.

Per this, the Duke was killed 8 times in movies.

John Wayne was killed in eight movies...

facebook has watch parties. Not a big fan of those, but not sure how we can capture a group discussion while the movie plays.

I don't think there is enough interest to worry about coordinating a group discussion.
Look at the lack of interest for the pair of decent movies I posted on Saturday afternoon then bumped for Saturday evening. 1 response
