Has a state by state flu info been started here yet? In Michigan, so far I have read that there have been 3 cases of flu reported. (Livingston, Ottowa, Kent Co.) The info sites from the gov't don't seem to be very updated.

So far no confirmed cases in NH. But DH heard today that a woman was being tested at Concord hospital for it. There are 2 case just over the border in Lowell, MA. So, sooner or later it will be here too.

I work in the restaurant buisness and am in constant contact with all kinds of people...yuck!

Stay healthy everyone!

Last I heard there were 51 cases in NYS.

Maric, its all over upstate. Warrensberg schools are considering closing down, and so are Saratoga schools, and balston spa schools. Its in Clifton Park, Albany, Troy, Cohoes, and Utica. These are the places I know of after making contact with professionals in several fields such as nursing, hospital and school systems.

Everyone gets sick for a few days, then gets better. In fact, its one of the lamest flues I can ever remember.

States getting swine flu test kits

Last Update: 12:24 pm

Dr. Richard Besser, Acting Director, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, briefs the media at the White House on the government's response to swine influenza on April 26, 2009 in Washington, D.C. (Brendan Hoffman, Getty Images) ATLANTA (AP) - States across the country will soon be able to do their own testing for the swine flu virus.

The acting director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Thursday that states will be sent kits to do their own tests. Until Wednesday, the tests were only being done by the CDC in Atlanta.

Dr. Richard Besser says swine flu tests can now also be done in a lab in Mexico.

Besser says health officials may eventually stop doing tests to confirm every case of swine flu.

The news came as the Centers for Disease Control reported 10 confirmed cases in South Carolina, bringing the total to more than 100 cases in 11 states.

Also Thursday, the head of Georgia's Division of Public Health says the CDC has confirmed the first case in that state, a 30-year-old woman from Kentucky who was hospitalized in the town of LaGrange while visiting west Georgia.

She'd been in Cancun, Mexico, earlier this month.

The woman remains hospitalized, although officials would not say where.

The CDC did not indicate whether the 10 cases in South Carolina were among 17 probable cases that state health officials have linked to a school trip to Mexico.

Our little town, Pahrump always has some type of 24 hour something going around but I never seem to get it.

We're prepped with Sambucol and N95 masks and a couple P100 respirators.

Also our acreage is fenced with 5' chain link so nobody should come knocking on our door and sneeze in our faces.

Do you know where?? I haven't heard of any, except a possible in Allegheny county. My daughter thought there was one in Philly. My brother lives in Pittsburgh, and works in a club, so I'm really worried about him!

I heard that too not to long ago. I wish there was a site that was more up to date/accurate on reportings in each county/state.

maryland

maryland is up to 9 probable cases, with none confirmed yet. 1 of the probables is a student who went to school sick on monday, is considered a primary carrier, and did NOT travel to mexico. apparently the student is a special-needs student who cannot follow directions to wash their hands.

forgot to add, 4 schools are being closed "until further notice" to try to stop it.
