PREP Sprouting at home

Be Well

may all be well
How do you get the 'shells' out of sprouted seeds? for small seeds like alfalfa its not problem, but i never liked eating them from the larger sprouts. picking thru the sprouts to remove shells made it a chore to do.

When the sprouts are ready, immerse in a large bowl of water and gently swish with your hand, and many of the hulls will separate and float; you can skim them off with a spoon with holes in it or better, a strainer.

Even the hulls of mung beans, azuki and lentil don't bother me; and if you sautee them, you won't notice them. The worst hulls are sunflower but they are grown in soil and snipped, not grown in jars (or bowls) like the others.
