Much of the "Look, squirrel!" stuff going on in the aftermath of the attack on Paul Pelosi in his home by a drug-addled bum in San Francisco is focused on an erroneous tweet sent by Elon Musk, who now owns Twitter.
Yes, it was a bad tweet, all right, and he got rid of it, but that's not the only problem in the media response to the attack.
Everyone from Joe Biden on down, and that's quite a rat hole, is yelling about political violence now as a result — right-wing political violence, to be specific, which in itself is a false claim, given that the attacker, David DePape, was a bum who lived in a "hippie house" with a Black Lives Matter sign out front in Berkeley, California. DePape was a mentally deranged drug addict. He belonged in a mental health facility or some sort of jail. His internet trail is a string of inchoate gibberings. The failure of blue cities to deal with such problems is an issue in itself.
It's not just that this isn't being reported by the press as politicians preen about Trump being the intellectual author of the attack; it's what the press and pols don't report.
Michael Shellenberger, a centrist writer who investigated the attack himself because the press wouldn't, called it a double-standard:

They include the near murder of House leader Steve Scalise and others by a fanatical Bernie Sanders–supporter and two violent attacks on Sen. The man who lost part of his lung in an actual political attack by a politically motivated leftist is now being blasted for it by the left.
According to the Independent of London, the tweets were nasty.
Sit that one out, clowns — you've got apologizing to do, both on behalf of your miserable selves and your political movement that Petri-dished it.
Of course, they get away with it.
Meanwhile, the gunfire attack on Scalise was simply memory-holed in the press, and Bernie Sanders was held harmless for the kind of follower he attracted, even as he barely condemned the attack.
The garbage is still going on, not just against Kavanaugh, but in the dangerous "swatting" incidents targeting Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, the phenomenon of someone calling 911 and falsely reporting a gun incident or standoff or problem at the home of a political enemy in order to use the cops to surround the house in full SWAT gear and hope one of them makes a mistake by shooting someone inside. This vile sort of attack has happened to Greene six times now, she has said. That's political violence, too, of the most nerve-wracking kind.
And don't forget the attacks on crisis pregnancy centers and churches — vandalism, church desecration, and fire-bombings — all of which are nakedly politically motivated and never investigated with any seriousness by the politicized authorities.
Bottom line here is that the politically motivated violence is coming from the left, not the right. The left is blaming the right in order to extend surveillance and police powers on conservatives, while allowing the violent mobs to attack conservatives unfettered.
Unlike the media narrative now, the real problem is the upsweep in violent crimes and threats of crimes to the right. The Pelosi attack was a sorry aberration, brought on by blue-city policies of tolerance of drug-addicted bums without forced treatment. The attacks on the others were all purely political.
That's the sorry situation and the flaming double standard.

The double standard in news media coverage is brought into sharper relief when one considers that the suspect in the murder plot against Kavanaugh, Nicholas John Roske, 26, has, unlike DePape, shown no sign of psychosis. Rather, he appears to be motivated by the same kind of political fanaticism that has gripped climate activists around the world.

The day before yesterday, Paul Pelosi, the husband of House speaker Nancy Pelosi, was attacked at the couple's home in San Francisco by a male assailant.
Law enforcement sources that remained unnamed told CNN that the assailant was searching for the speaker of the House. The source claims that the intruder confronted the speaker's husband in their San Francisco home shouting, "Where is Nancy? Where is Nancy?"
This was apparently the exact call that January 6 "rioters" made as they "hunted" the House speaker and broke into her office.
How did Paul Pelosi manage to alert the police?
According to another unnamed CNN source, Paul called 911 himself after telling the intruder he had to go use the bathroom. Yes, the violent intruder was considerate enough to allow Paul to take a bathroom break.
This is very rare, but let's give Paul the benefit of doubt. Perhaps Paul is one of those rare lucky individuals who arouses compassion even in a psychopathic assailant.
The man who assaulted Paul Pelosi tried to tie him up "until Nancy got home," according to two CNN sources familiar with the situation. Once again, these two sources were unnamed.
When officers arrived on the scene, police said they saw Paul Pelosi and his assailant with their hands on a hammer. At that moment, the assailant allegedly pulled the hammer from Pelosi and struck him.
Drew Hammill, a spokesman for Nancy Pelosi, released a statement that Paul was taken to a hospital, where he underwent a "successful surgery to repair a skull fracture and serious injuries to his right arm and hands," and "his doctors expect a full recovery."
It is very rare for a man in his eighties, attacked with a hammer causing a skull fracture, to make a full recovery. It is also very rare for doctors to be able to make such a declaration without observing the patient for a prolonged period.
But let's give Paul the benefit of doubt, again, perhaps because he is one of those rare lucky individuals.
There are a few open questions about the attack.
Doesn't Nancy Pelosi's residence have security? She is third in line for the presidency, after all.

San Francisco Police chief William Scott said during a news conference on the investigation that authorities are still determining a motive behind the attack, but they intend to book the suspect on felony charges.
"The suspect is still in the hospital, but let me say this: we intend to book the suspect, whether it's in absentia or whether it's in person — he will be booked for felony charges."
But that didn't stop the Democrats and their media messengers from baselessly claiming that the attack was politically motivated and blaming whom else but Republicans and President Donald Trump.
Biden described the attack as "despicable" and denounced a corrosive political climate for contributing to violence and baselessly claimed the attack appeared to be "intended for Nancy."

The article claimed that Paul Pelosi was drunk and met his alleged attacker, who is a male prostitute, at a gay bar. The article claimed that Paul was attacked when something went wrong between the two, the implication being that the liaison went overboard.
The media were quick to pounce on Musk, as they are resentful that he took over Twitter, and this was their chance to attack him.
MSN claimed that "Musk tweets anti-LGBTQ conspiracy theories about the Paul Pelosi attack." Yahoo News, NBC News, Forbes, the NYT, and The Daily Beast called it a conspiracy theory. The Independent called it a lurid conspiracy theory.

So what do we have here?
We do not know what exactly happened that night at the Pelosi residence. The information available is based on claims of unnamed sources. When the media want to fabricate, unnamed sources are used usually. The fact that police body cam footage or security footage wasn't released certainly raises questions.
Yet the Democrats engaged in a dangerous conspiracy theory without any proof, blaming the GOP for the attack on Paul. They are hoping to scare voters prior to the midterms and secure votes.
The article that Musk tweeted about also makes insinuations and claims without proof, but it asks some valid questions.
It is unlikely that someone as astute as Musk isn't aware of this.
The P.R. wing for the Democrats, which masquerades as the mainstream media, obviously pounced upon Musk, while the Democrats' conspiracy theories were treated as God's truth.
The fact that Musk deleted his tweet proves he didn't entirely believe in the claim about Paul, but he was engaging in an exercise with a purpose.
Musk was revealing the absurdity in the Democrats' claim by engaging in some ludicrousness himself.
However, the claims made in the article that Musk tweeted about are more credible than the Democrats' preposterous claim.
But there is a difference between Musk and the Democrats.
That difference is that the Democrats via Biden have power and access to government agencies.
If history has taught us anything, conspiracy theories that Democrats float are usually weaponized and used against political opponents.
A special counsel was appointed after the Democrats floated and amplified the Trump-Russia collusion conspiracy theory. Trump was impeached twice based on conspiracy theories. The January 6 committee was founded on the basis of a conspiracy theory of the "insurrection."
The Democrats know that they are likely to lose during the midterms. They will do all they can to either cling to power or place impediments before the GOP after they retake the House and the Senate.
The question is not if, but when and how their latest conspiracy theory will be used against their political opponents.
Musk himself may also be a target.
We may know in the next few days, or perhaps in the months after the elections.

There are some who claimed DePape was driven to violence due to drug-induced paranoid psychosis.

Musk linked to a site with the headline, "The Awful Truth: Paul Pelosi Was Drunk Again."
The article claimed that Paul Pelosi was drunk and met his alleged attacker, who is a male prostitute, at a gay bar. The article claimed that Paul was attacked when something went wrong between the two, the implication being that the liaison went overboard.
The media were quick to pounce on Musk, as they are resentful that he took over Twitter, and this was their chance to attack him.
MSN claimed that "Musk tweets anti-LGBTQ conspiracy theories about the Paul Pelosi attack." Yahoo News, NBC News, Forbes, the NYT, and The Daily Beast called it a conspiracy theory. The Independent called it a lurid conspiracy theory.

So what do we have here?
We do not know what exactly happened that night at the Pelosi residence. The information available is based on claims of unnamed sources. When the media want to fabricate, unnamed sources are used usually. The fact that police body cam footage or security footage wasn't released certainly raises questions.
Yet the Democrats engaged in a dangerous conspiracy theory without any proof, blaming the GOP for the attack on Paul. They are hoping to scare voters prior to the midterms and secure votes.
The article that Musk tweeted about also makes insinuations and claims without proof, but it asks some valid questions.
It is unlikely that someone as astute as Musk isn't aware of this.
The P.R. wing for the Democrats, which masquerades as the mainstream media, obviously pounced upon Musk, while the Democrats' conspiracy theories were treated as God's truth.
The fact that Musk deleted his tweet proves he didn't entirely believe in the claim about Paul, but he was engaging in an exercise with a purpose.
Musk was revealing the absurdity in the Democrats' claim by engaging in some ludicrousness himself.
However, the claims made in the article that Musk tweeted about are more credible than the Democrats' preposterous claim.
But there is a difference between Musk and the Democrats.
That difference is that the Democrats via Biden have power and access to government agencies.
If history has taught us anything, conspiracy theories that Democrats float are usually weaponized and used against political opponents.
A special counsel was appointed after the Democrats floated and amplified the Trump-Russia collusion conspiracy theory. Trump was impeached twice based on conspiracy theories. The January 6 committee was founded on the basis of a conspiracy theory of the "insurrection."
The Democrats know that they are likely to lose during the midterms. They will do all they can to either cling to power or place impediments before the GOP after they retake the House and the Senate.
The question is not if, but when and how their latest conspiracy theory will be used against their political opponents.
Musk himself may also be a target.
We may know in the next few days, or perhaps in the months after the elections.

By the time this nonsense is over, the Dems will have spun the story so that at least a significant percentage of the American public will believe that Paul Pelosi fought off an attacker half his age, in a valiant attempt to protect his dear wife from a crazed, right-wing extremist. I thought I was born ready, and have been tested a time or two in tiny skirmishes, but overall, I would say odds remain heavily in favour o' the status quo. They are killing our babies as of now unborn, forcing vaxx on our children, and made our parents die alone in nursing homes, without visits to comfort them or funerals to honor them.
And instead of rising up, we cash our pittance stimmis, load up our free porn, and curse impotently from behind screens- and now we sit in front of those screens like trained seals, watching this latest theatre production, following our pied pipers into the chute upon command, and clapping senselessly when it looks like our team has scored a point or is ahead. Not only that, but DePape's nudist group leader, Gypsy Taub, has been convicted of misdemeanors related to the sexual stalking and harrassment of a 14-year-old boy, her teen son's former friend.

Not to mention that while it is so far no proof of this allegation, I'm talking in general here, it is widely known that a darker side of San Francisco (and pretty much any) larger gay male community is that there are always underage boys (at least by modern laws) who hang out on the edges in hopes of getting picked up and often showered with gifts by older men.
This practice is well documented in both ancient Athens and ancient Rome, Sparta even made an institution on of it. Note, I am not suggesting that just because they did it, it is a good idea, just pointing out there is nothing new under the sun.
The majority of these boys would have been adults (or semi-adults) until fairly recently, between the ages of about 16 and 18; however, there have always been runaways and child trafficking to add into the mix, along with the 12 to 15-year-old
"tearaways" escape abusing homes, or sometimes being kicked out of them.
But tons of young boy-men around the ages of 16 to 20 (so some are of age) play this game, often for drugs, money, or in one case where I knew the young man, lots of international travel and living in a posh apartment.
Like their heterosexual counterparts, they often have fake IDs, especially if they look old enough to pass for 18 to 21 in order to get into bars or nightclubs. (Truth in advertising, I did this once at 17 when the limit was 18, I'm not proud of it and all we did was dance, but it is a common thing for young people to do).
Anyway, often terrible things happen to these young boys and men; when I was still in Mississippi a promising young high school football player was murdered living a double life and playing this game. Sometimes they demand too much from their patron and/or their patron is "important" and suddenly feel in danger of exposure. Anyone with a small imagination or who has read a few crime novels can figure out the rest. Especially if the young man is 16 or under, these days that can not only ruin a career but end up with the older man spending years if not the rest of their life, behind bars.
But again, we have no proof, only a bit of rumor that something like that might have been going on. The problem is, if Paul is really as well known in the "community" as it sounds like, people will know if he has a habit of doing this sort of thing or not and/or if his "friend" David did.
