SCI SpaceX’s first astronaut launch breaking ground with new look: ‘It is really neat’

It looks like a racing car suit, not something durable enough for space. I don't have a good feeling about them.

Watching Discovery Channel coverage. They had a piece on the new suits. The reason they have a racing car look is that they've basically adapted a race car fire suit as the outer layer of the pressure suit for fire protection.

Which means they probably cost a LOT less than the 350k per ACES suit. A good thing.

Hush!

Elon make electric cars..must be bad And liberal

Elon smoked weed..must not be smart

We must live by our generalizations of people and not give into facts and accomplishments! Just because he beat Boeing to space doesn’t make him smart

No, liberal or not he builds shitty cars-and that's an observation, not a generalization. I left politics out of my post, space should be beyond politics and for the good of mankind in general.
Boeing had serious software problems in their Starliner test a few months ago; serious ones (and eerily similar to the ones some Soviet cosmonauts had. Soyuz 3 and 4 was one mission; there were some Mir missions with bad docking problems too.) IE sloppy work. NASA has had some massive boo boos too.

The fact he's accomplished the goal to hardware operational and on the pad is quite an achievement. I just pray he didn't use the same business model building the capsule as he does on the stuff coming out of Freemont (and soon to be somewhere in TX).
