Something unusual is indeed going on in #China The mass flight cancellations could be for military reasons as stated below, but It's not confirmed, or covid. There is no official explanation yet. Rumors of a coup, power struggle, maybe, but nothing is clear or confirmed.

Xi Jinping likely removed from Chairman of the Military Commission's post under the shadow of a Military coup. Xi is rumored to have undergone a military coup. #PLA special forces gathered at Shenyang Military airport under the orders of Li Qiaoming.

Xi was absent in the seminar on National Defence and Military Reform held in #Beijing on September 21 after he made a hasty return from SCO meeting.

His absence has only two explanations. Either the physical condition is extremely bad, or he is no longer in the leadership position of the chairman of the #China Military Commission.

Li Qiaoming attended the seminar in Xi's absence sitting in the middle of the left group in the first row under the stage, next to #China Army Commander Liu Zhenli, which is the focus of the camera.

#PLA military vehicles heading to #Beijing on Sep 22. Starting from Huanlai County near Beijing & ending in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, entire procession as long as 80 KM. Meanwhile, rumor has it that #XiJinping was under arrest after #CCP seniors removed him as head of PLA

It still strikes me that the flights and (probably) the troop movement are actual facts. The whys n what it means is less certain, at least to me.

The mass flight cancellations on Sep 21st & troop movements towards Beijing on Sep 22nd seem to be the main visible data for the coup rumor. A number of people verified that that Beijing airport still has a lot of cancellations. Something is going on, but not clear what.

seems to be ascribed to Mahatma Gandhi but reminds me of a a much earlier similar quotation from Mother Ann Lee (1736-1784, the founding leader of the Shakers)... "Do your work as though you had a thousand years to live and as if you were to die tomorrow." Whenever I visit their community in Canterbury, NH that quotation is inscribed upon a monument there.
