…… Software to compose soundtrack?

Since I am working on short films I am going to need soundtracks.

There is a lot of free stuff online but most of it sounds like crap or is simply repetative and too high Noted-like old NEW or Sega Genesis games music. A lot of youtoobers from India use this crap on their videos-sometimes really good info but the music makes me shut it off.

So, might as well compose my own. Figure there is software out there for this but the only two I have found are string guitar-based or piano. Some synth, bass guitar and the like would be great.

Neither here nor there.
Adobe Audition -->> it's not free though.

Oh wait, sorry you're looking for software to create music, not for editing. Garageband if you have an apple product.

I use filmora for my drone videos and that has an extensive library of special effects including sound tracks from all genre's. The effects and plug in's are a subscription service and I pay $22 a month for it. The download and basics are free and the editor is pretty much full featured but if you use the free version it will have a Filmora watermark on the video. A lot of the Youtube and Tik Tok people use it for their videos.

Do you lose license to the music and effects if you stop subscribing?

Hi Satanta

I have not used these personally but could be worth a look.

Music Maker free version but is limited.

Bandlab this look interesting might give it a go myself when I have the time.

Don’t know. The videos are made with a current license so I would assume the video is covered going forward.
A lot of the subscription outfits require that to be compliant you have to subscribe to keep the licensed music. That is why I asked. It is a way to tie you to a paticular outfit.

If you can compose your own stuff that is a better bet and then hope you can stay unique enough to stay away from the IP nazis. Then it comes down to showing proof you created things from scratch yourself and have the right amount of variance from anything currently policed.
