Sleazy Pudding

Had some whipping cream, but nothing to put it on that appealed, so I took a can of peaches, drained a little of the liquid into a bowl, dumped the peaches and rest of the liquid into a pot, then added a stick of cinnamon and a few cloves, and set that to heating. Took a quarter of a lemon from the bag of quartered lemons and limes I keep in the freezer, dropped it into a cup of warm water for a few minutes, then squeezed it into the peach pot. Let everything simmer a few minutes, mixed the reserved juice with 2 or so tablespoons of cornstarch, stirred it into the peach mix, and cooked till thick. Plopped the peach stuff into a couple of bowls to cool, whipped the cream with sugar and vanilla, and served atop the peach pudding....hit the spot!

Makeshift Nectarine Fruit Crepe

I was hungry this afternoon, made a very small cocktail using fresh juice from a nectarine and a little rum and sugar :D ... and decided well what the hay, do something with the left-over, still-juicy pulp. Plopped it in a small fry pan, sprinkled some sugar on top, mixed in a little butter, boiled/carmelized it down slightly, added a dash of rum and then improvized by taking a bowl, adding a couple tablespoons flour, a bit more than that of cream and an egg (get it to pancake batter consistency, adding more cream if necessary). I dumped that over the mass of nectarine pulp in the fry pan, waited till the edges browned and flipped it over to brown the other side.

REALLY yummy... and very improvised. Had to make another one later for my husband. Used half a pear, but I think the nectarine had more kick.
