Singer songwriter Mac Davis has died at age 78 after suffering a heart attack in Nashville yesterday.

I saw him perform live in about 1973-74. Quite a good show as I remember. Sorry he is gone.

I honed my Bardic Gift as a kid watching Mac sing. He did the thing at the end of the show where he would make up a song out of any words people threw at him right on the spot. Some of them were very good, others were hilarious.
In later years, I was fortunate to have two other Bards in my close knit Circle and we all used to make up songs for the pups Mac Davis style. Always put the pup's name in the song, so you can see eyes bright and ears front. Tails that wag. I still sing those songs today. I will miss Mac and all that he gave to me.

Quite a career. He wrote an amazing number of songs, most for other people.
