We're projected to see 4.5" of rain in 5 hours or so.

Environment getting more conducive, storms are getting stronger and seeing more rotation areas.
"Dual polarization" allows better detection but that results in more warnings being issued that are not ultimately verified.

The result is the current slew of warnings on days like this.
---------------------------------------------------
After 2000, research on dual polarization technology moved into operational use, increasing the amount of information available on precipitation type (e.g. rain vs. snow). "Dual polarization" means that microwave radiation which is polarized both horizontally and vertically (with respect to the ground) is emitted. Wide-scale deployment was done by the end of the decade or the beginning of the next in some countries such as the United States, France,[11] and Canada. In April 2013, all United States National Weather Service NEXRADs were completely dual-polarized.[12

Is there anything off, about a series of super cells bunching up?
What is crossing SE Kan has several that looking like pulses. Not that the whole thing doesn't have a spotty look with severeness!

Mesoscale Discussion 0555
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
1051 PM CDT Sat Apr 27 2024

Areas affected...Eastern Oklahoma

Concerning...Tornado Watch 152...

Valid 280351Z - 280545Z

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 152 continues.

SUMMARY...Tornado potential is greatest across eastern Oklahoma.

DISCUSSION...Influence of mid-level speed max appears to be
affecting convection over central/southern Oklahoma. Low-level SRH
has increased markedly across eastern OK this evening as LLJ is
focused into this region of the southern Plains. 0-1 SRH values are
currently around 600 m2/s2 at INX, and weak inhibition that was
observed on 00z OUN sounding is now negligible.

Late-afternoon convection that evolved over northwest TX/southwest
OK has grown upscale and progressed downstream. Leading edge of
well-defined MCS now arcs from near Payne-Okfuskee-Garvin County.
While embedded circulations are noted along this line, especially
the northern portions, of more concern are the discrete supercells
that have developed ahead of the MCS. Several notable, long-lived
supercells have evolved from south-central OK into Hughes County.
Tornado potential appears significant
with these discrete pre-MCS
updrafts. As these updrafts are overtaken by the MCS a more complex
MCS will ultimately evolve within the larger warm advection
corridor. A few strong tornadoes are likely with this activity.

Got pounded with thunderstorm for couple of hours. No hail. Power still on. So far, so good here at the little cabin in South Texas.
looks like I just have some unhappy barn babies and roof repair here- at least the panels I'd started replacing on the boy's barn last week were not the one's ripped off, or momma would be a tad annoyed - haven't checked the fence lines yet though

OKLAHOMA (KXII) - Multiple tornadoes touched down across Southern Oklahoma late Saturday night, injuring several, destroying buildings, and leaving thousands without power.

A violent tornado struck the town of Sulphur in Murray County. The town took a direct hit, with several buildings destroyed. Murray County Emergency Management reports significant damage in Sulphur and numerous injuries. Search and rescue is ongoing at this time. OHP reports troopers are responding to apartments on Woodruff where tornado damage occurred. US-177 approximately 2 miles north of Sulphur is closed due to flooding.

The Murray County Sheriff’s Office is asking people to stay away from Sulphur, and the American Red Cross has set up a shelter at Crossway Church there.

A tornado also touched down in Ardmore. Ardmore Emergency Management reports damage and power outages in Ardmore. Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) reports injuries and power lines down in Carter County at the Flying J Truck Stop on Michelin Road. Plainview School was also damaged in the storms

Additional tornadoes touched down in the Springer area north of Ardmore, Pontotoc County, Mill Creek, and Marietta.

Love County Emergency Management reports damages in and around Marietta including damage to the Marietta Hospital. Hospital patients took shelter during the storms and no injuries in the hospital are reported. Well, if you look at his twitter feed, he is out of the closet. Is that what you mean? He is a bit of a boy-genius though.
Yeah. I don’t like that side of Andy but he has the makings of a fantastic meteorologist. That, I do like about him. I’m watching for his job, not any other reason. He has good eyes and I have seen him catch things way before the weather service warns for them.
